I think the title should be Day in Life of an Emperor in the Qing Dynasty, because the Qing Dynasty had some unique characteristics, different from other dynasties in China.

The starting times of court sessions varied from dynasty to dynasty and emperor to emperor, some began at 5 or 6 am where the emperor would get up an hour before to prepare but the officials had to leave their houses at 12am and basically be ready and waiting at 3am. Dedication.

There is a gym.....or something similar, which is called 箭亭, translated as Arrow Pavilion, where emperor in Qing Dynasty would go and practice arrow and horse riding, usually in morning. As the emperors were worried that Han is having too much influence over the Manchu and warn their descendants to not to forget their culture. They have their words carved on stone for all descendants to learn to shoot arrow and ride... There were also annual hunting events.

This a very interesting topic.. Yeah, the emperors also would have had to be accomplished in certain military and combat skills such as horseback riding and archery for sure.. they also loved going on grand hunting trips with a large portion of the imperial court and military, which was one of the favorite pastimes of the Chinese emperors depending on the season... they also of course practiced their archery when they would go hunting.. I'm not completely sure about other forms of military or combat exercise... perhaps swordplay, but I can't say for certain...
The Manchurians were a Tungustic people who claim their origins to Changbai mountain or Baekdu mountain bordering North Korea and Southern Manchuria. Their lifestyle resembles the lifestyle of Mongolians and Turkic tribes.

I love the meditative bearing part! I remember my aunt once taught me the art of calligraphy when I was smaller but it was Japanese calligraphy( but eh, Japanese characters aren't that different from Chinese characters, at least, I think so). I loved it so much that sometimes even today I take some of my free time working on calligraphic art~
I remember hearing about how they supposedly greeted the sun on a special platform. And how this filiming crew heard about it too. They tried to film in the Forbidden City and had troubles with their equipment until someone in the cast. Think it ws the guy who was portraying the Emperor for the filming. He did the ceremony and there was no more troubles with the equipkment according to the group there.
Ancient China/Chinese had millions of standards and rules, everyone needed to obey/follow the standards and rules which given to one's identity, otherwise, one would be considered as逾越(out of the line), then one could be punished, some might cause collective punishment.

All of the dishes served to him every day, every meal is painstakingly recorded, made into a book every few months and archived. (These archives still exists today...) First, he looks pointedly at the dish he wants, whereupon an eunuch will test the dish for poison by interesting a thin 'silver needle' into the dish (this silver needle will supposedly change in colour when it comes into contact with poison). If the silver needle doesn't change colour, another eunuch will then proceed to take the first bite of the dish, if he doesn't end up fainting, dead or poisoned, then the dish will be brought to the top of the table, where yet another eunuch will proceed to spoon it into the emperor's bowl. The dish is then moved to the part of the table furthest away from the emperor. If the emperor likes the dish he may then gesture for another spoonful or choose another dish. But the emperor is not allowed to eat (more than) three spoonfuls/bites of any one dish. This is so that no one knows of the emperor's likes and dislikes, and can thus somehow plot to harm the emperor through his food. (It's also why the emperor eats his meals at different places everyday, so that no pattern can be found with regard to his eating habits) If the emperor asks for the same dish a third time, the eunuchs will then remove the dish from the table and that particular dish will not appear again on the table for months. The emperor cannot complain or order it back because these are the rules set down by his ancestors and as emperor, he must obey and abide by them.

Many of them wake up before 3, so they go to bed very early like 7 or 8. My grand-ma went to bed at 7.30, me at 8. (I'm 27 now baby) Many people wake up at midnight to cook to sell food in morning market at 4-5.30 a. m. I'm a lazy worm, I woke up at 7, desire to go buying steamed tender savory beef and hot sticky rice at the morning market. But at 6...the morning market is closed! Once I visited friend's home, we watched midnight movie channel and woke up at 9. Her family was so upset and said we are not going to get married coz we are too lazy and guys hate lazy ladies. I think that's fine as long as I plant and eat fresh corn in my farm. Uncooked corn is more sweet than guys, you know?
Come to western Europe and people would think that you're a hardworking saint if you wake up at 7am. Most of us wake up at noon during weekends. Some teenagers even wake up at 4 pm, directly eat the evening's supper, than go to their room and play video games until it's the morning. Then they sleep at 4am, and it's a never ending cycle.
