I use the a 1/2" navac vacuum hose straight to my vp85 with a apion core removal tool with the mg44 on it. I pulled a vacuum of 210 microns in 3 minutes today on a 30' lineset
I vote that Curtis will put something in his new little website that says something like.... "I'm Fixin to" cause this is what he's says all the time. HVAC GUY!!! You have a trademark saying that you came up with and may not realize you say that all the time. That's awesome!!
Its good to see proper vacuum procedure in the SE. Most techs I see don't own valve core tools, dedicated/spare micrometers, or valve-protect their micrometer. I've seen a lot only run on 29" on gauges, then break vacuum before adding refrigerant. I have to assume that's why I see so many restrictions.
I've had a yellow jacket Omni and 69080. The Omni was essentially ruined after accidental refrigerant or oil exposure. The 69080 has stayed accurate with cleaning. The fieldpiece micrometer in the smans needs cleaning regularly due to in-line design. This one should be good if its cared for.
Love the mg44 have used for a few months. Beats any manifold one I’ve used and the cps for sure. I have a video to put out using it with the vp87!! Good stuff my friend!
Another good one Curtis. I'm trying to get me a 2 hose vaccum set-up but I can't figure out what size threads are on the top.....I have a vaccum pump from harbor freight and another Chinese made one....the both have a weird to port thread....Thanks in advance...
How are you able to get the core removal tool on the high side valve? I can never get it to work. Did you do something special? The way those ports are designed really makes it difficult for me to get anything on the high side I’m only able to get the core removal tool on the low side
Rude and reem are blue energized in heat So disconnecting the blue wire is redundant just push in the contactor Now on the other guys yes you have to jump out the revering valve
Why would you pull it into a negative on the pump down if it’s leaking inside??? Pulling air into the system. 😮 better to close it at 10PSI and add a few ounces of refrigerant.

Good job Curtis, I'll have to buy a sticker later.
Bought 2 stickers ! Much support from a guy in FL hvac. Funny to me when you said hot for you was 80
Had to order myself a coffee cup. Thanks

You do a great job, love your videos, no need to apologize about a drop on a joint, it happens to all of us
I believe he was saying he was worried about a drop over the drain pan
@@Brokentwobutton the drain pan is metal,it happens
I just bought the sticker. Love it!!!
Sell hats and tshirts
Those are coming, thanks
Nice work
excellent.... video very illustrative and explanatory, thanks a lot keep them coming.
From one Climate Control to another (just a different state) i enjoy your videos. Good job. And yes I'm a hvac "Guy" 😅
Another good job....thanks for sharing
Good job, nice deep vacuum.
I would definitely buy a shirt or a hat.
Subscribed! Thank you for your good content👍 Cheers
Thanks
I’ve been looking at a new micron gauge. Might give it a try. Thanks

@@Brokentwobutton I use smans and sometimes question it’s accuracy. Thanks for your opinion.

Didn’t realize how big that thing is. Wow
Impatiently awaiting the answer to the TXV video from a few days ago. 🤣
That’s tomorrow. And spoiler - the cost was the same to replace entire evap coil.
Can you make a video with all the common place units usually leak at for example Rheem split is usually by the high pressure switch
That’d be difficult to put together
You left a dingleberry? did not notice one, now I'm going to lose some sleep.
Just wondering how old this system it Great work
About 8-10 years old

Amazon a 1/4" to 1/2" adaptor
@@mattbilodeau2433 thanks Matt...
Is that your preferred method of vacuuming when the system is a piston, would you do the same on a txv or would you use a 2 hose set-up
Great videos, keep them coming!!
If I can this is my preferred method on all types. Even package units
What kind of adapter are you using for the mg44???
You going to catch the basketball regionals in Greenville, SC?
Tried to respond earlier. Are you asking about my coming trip to SC?
Yes@@HVACGUY

Never sweat out a dryer the heat will release all retain mouster bak to system all gases expend with heat
Curious as to how this compares to the testo

There’s a screw that holds the bracket over liquid line. It had been removed before I got there. I put it back in.
I'll do it.

The SE was just in a cold snap. The customer can run their aux heat by that stage of repair and disconnecting the RV makes sense if so.
What’s your vacuum hose set up?
Hey Curtis, are disconnecting the low pressure switch when you pump the unit down using the compressor? Thanks in advance
I pushed in contactor with a screwdriver. So no I didn’t disconnect that
@@HVACGUY okay, thanks....hvac on......
