  • [GEO #15] Road to becoming good at GEOGUESSR
Hey guys and welcome to what could be a very long, long series. I will try and play a simple game called Geoguessr and become good at it. If you don't know what Geoguessr is, you get dropped in a random location in Google Maps Street View and have to guess where you are in the world. There are more than 100 countries and different modes you can play with. It's a challenging but intriguing game, there are many metas and knowledge you can learn to improve. I will not be studying though, just playing until I see patterns that can help me out. I think the game is pretty entertaining and the videos will be short and simple. So I can upload them DAILY! YES, DAILY!
I'll always leave a link to the challenge itself if you wanna try it out before watching the video and compare it to my score 🤨. WILL YOU BE ABLE TO BEAT ME?
    Day 15: www.geoguessr....

0:53 5 stripes is most common. The most important ones are: Spain has 8 stripes, Sweden, Norway, and Bulgaria have 4, Russia/Ukraine/Estonia/Lithuania (but not Latvia) have 3. Nice guess!
3:07 Mexico is difficult, but those particular palm trees are much more common in Baja.
8:04 The "road turns" sign that you went past really quickly here has a fat arrow that is unique (I think) to Mexico. Maybe more distinctive to people like me who grew up with American-style road signs.
9:17 Blue and yellow turn chevrons (like the Swedish flag) are unique to Sweden.
15:35 These pole tops (with one diagonal support) are by far the most common in Eastern Indonesia (Sumba, the Nusas and Timor).
18:52: In Southeast Asia, red/white turning chevrons are only found in the Philippines.
