How fine of a metal file did you use to sharpen??
Bucket full of sand(sharp).
Put in and use old engine oil
what grit is the sanding block?
Jenny, Patty reports she used a fine sanding block with 120 grit.

They are Felco, which are readily available. They last forever, I've had these for about 15 years.
