    This is great video really like the simplicity of your content. I use Notion and I love it! Side note, very intrigued with your keyword research! Looks so thorough. I've just started my own YT channel, it started off well but hit a bit of a plateau...

    Thanks for the video! Notion is really good, and I had been using it for some time, but now I switched to Flowlu because it's better for me to manage projects in this software, and Flowlu also offers a knowledge base, so my developers don't need to waste time switching between different apps.

      Thanks for sharing! I haven't heard of Flowlu before, but it looks like a good alternative for businesses.

    I recommend Logseq which is a free and open-source alternative of Roam Research. And I love obsidian as well😂

    • @alexhyettdev

      I am definitely going to have to give Logseq a try. Does it have any benefits over Obsidian?

      @@alexhyettdev It's an outliner app, almost the same to Roam. The basic unit is a block instead of a page which allows you to create fine-grained notes. The block reference is better and it provides more functionalities out of the box. You can do basically everything in Obsidian but usually, you will need to install plugins😂

    my knowledge management system is a directory called 'notes' full of markdown files which i navigate with a text editor

    • @alexhyettdev
      @alexhyettdev  9 месяцев назад +1

      Always best to keep them as markdown!

    Go Obsidian! Sad to see Dendron dev stopped. Thanks to Kevin and the Dendron team...still using the period hierarchy notation using the Strctued plugin in Obsidian. VSCode is the fastest, especially over large vaults/workspaces -- and I still use it along with Obsidian.

      Thanks for mentioning the Structured plugin I will have to give that a try. I don't think my vault has got big enough for it to slow down in Obsidian yet but will likely have to use VS Code more if it does.

      I wasn't aware dendron dev stopped. I have been using Dendron for about two years now. I haven't been as active within the community - when did this happen?

    I was using Notion few years ago, than I transferred to Dynalist but it was not working good on macOS. I tried InkDrop but in the end I migrated to Obsidian half a year ago and its really good. It works on my Win,Mac and Linux machines but the Android app has some issues. Namely, sometimes I need to pre sync for me to edit or read something, this 10 seconds when I need to just write something down is the only thing keeping me from using Obsidian exclusively on all devices. If u don't need mobile apps, Obsidian is the way to go :)

      I have this syncing issue with my iPhone as well. It can even be as long as a minute to download the “configuration files”. I tend to put quick notes in Apple Notes and then just copy them across. Funnily enough it looks like Obsidian have just updated the app. I haven’t spent enough time with it yet to see if they have fixed the lock ups though.

      @@alexhyettdev Seems like it works fine now, hopefully it's consistent. I didn't check it as well, since I am using notes for quick notes and then syncing manually from time to time

    Dendron development is stopped unfortunate, i use foam instead

    What about emacs org mode?

    • @alexhyettdev
      @alexhyettdev  Год назад +1

      That looks like a great option if you use emacs. I would be better if it used markdown otherwise you are locked into using emacs.

    Where's Evernote?

    • @alexhyettdev
      @alexhyettdev  11 месяцев назад +1

      I used to use Evernote when it first came out. Since then it has been plagued with privacy issues and performance problems. I prefer to have my notes stored in markdown so I won’t lose them all if something happens to the company.

      @@alexhyettdev Well most of its performace issues are resolved now, such as syncing across multiple devices, conflict resolution, etc...
