  • One way to make your power chords more exciting is with one simple change.
    In this metal guitar lesson, I show you a progression in the key of A minor with different ways to play these power chords. This will give you a different sound and character to your riffs and music.
    This is Part 1 of 3 for the metal song Jai Yen Yen, which means 'cool heart' in Thai language (I explain why it's named this in the video).
    It's from my latest album Overcometh. You can listen to the full album here:
    www.jasonstall...
    I also show you how to expand on these power chords with more ways to play them to write your own metal riffs.
    Oh, and hang around for our Guitar Chat at the end (there's a cool story that I share about the song you're learning - you may know someone like this).
    Keep it Metal,
    Jason

    I really love this approach and use it a lot. You can really get infinite moods/sounds out of alternating these 2-note chords and how you pick them. Good stuff Jason.👊🤘

      It’s definitely a great way to break away from regular power chords for a different feel and sound

    Cool - I actually use similar chord styles in the punk/metal stuff I play now! Helps create a bridge to some of the heavier stuff I've watched in your other videos that I'm trying to branch out into and learn how to play.

      @jasonstallworth Hi, my friend I intend to come over to America once I have gained enough subscribers on my RUclips channel, Paul Gallant 3675, as my wish is to set up home the land of opportunity using my ERC20 of which there are 8 currently to buy a Ranch to harvest the Sun and the wind and play good music

    Nice lesson jason. i do have a question, are you palm muting just the d string or both d and g strings?

    • @jasonstallworth
      @jasonstallworth  6 месяцев назад

      I tend to palm mute the one note because it’s brings out a little more clarity.

    I use a lot of those power chords because Mötley riffs. take me to the top - intro/main riff, live wire chorus riff is one of the best riffs in my opinion🤘. I started playing the guitar myself about 8 years ago🙂
