  • In this video we check out Sea Life Aquarium in Sydney, Australia! This aquarium has the largest variety of sharks in the world, and over 13,000 freshwater and saltwater fish combined. They had some beautiful displays, and a lot of native Australian fish setups/biotopes. I really enjoyed my visit while I was down in Sydney for the Pet Show, and I hope you enjoy this short vlog I put together!

    I believe those are little penguins, or _Eudyptula minor_ (also called little blue or fairy penguins). I think they’re from New Zealand but also found in Tasmania. I think I saw them on a documentary about Tasmania! And apparently there’s a small population off NSW? 🤔 and possibly other parts of the southern coast of the continent. I was under the impression Sydney was the only aquarium in the world to house them… come to find out, we have them here in my hometown of San Diego! 😂 And they’re also at the Bronx Zoo in NYC, Louisville, Dallas, Cincinnati, and the National Zoo in Washington, DC… for once, A.I. gives some useful information. 😆

    If you ever make it back to the usa, specifically missouri. You need to go the biggest bass pro shops/their hq/ the original. They have wonders of wildlife aquarium and a number of other things you'd love. It's one of the top rated places to visit, but gets overlooked because it's in Missouri 😅

    I'm in the US and got to visit that aquarium in 2002 during a military port call on the way back to Hawaii from the Middle East. I'm pretty sure I have some 8mm video of this aquarium. I always make sure to visit aquariums during my travels. Also checked out the aquarium in Valencia, Spain while I was there for motorcycle racing. I know I have video of that one.

    • @Kaityscichlids
      @Kaityscichlids  10 месяцев назад

      How cool!! It's crazy how long a lot of these aquariums have been around for, so many were first established in the 1990's. And I'm totally with you on that, travelling and visiting the local aquarium go hand in hand :)

    Tangalooma Bay feeding the wild dolphins, is that still a thing near you?...I did it about 13 years ago and it's a great experience if there's a few of you to video each other wading in the water to feed (and spread the cost of the apartment haha)

    • @Kaityscichlids
      @Kaityscichlids  9 месяцев назад

      Yes it's still a thing here!! In 2020 JUST before COVID hit I went on a family holiday to Tangalooma and we got to see the dolphins being fed. I absolutely loved it, it's such a beautiful place there
