We're the djm upper control arms necessary for better alignment. I'm gathering parts now for the same drop and every kit I see with a three inch front drop is just the coils and camber alignment bolts.
daffy duck I did the upper control arms because I wanted the replaceable ball joint option. And the ball joint angle is closer to factory specs

did you get thoe rims in 5 X 135 bolt pattern? or did you have to use a spacer/adapter to fit them?
Found these in 5x135, took forever to find them though! Not a ton of companies make wheels for these trucks anymore

What's the flip kit for? I don't that match about dropped trucks
theodore raz it puts the leaf springs under the axle instead of on top of it. It “flips” the location of the springs.

Yes. It’s a v6, Torison keys are only for 4wd, mines 2wd. You only need a c notch if you go lower that 4 inches in the rear

mike hall covered the holes perfect, just used some 3M heavy duty double sided tape to stick them on.

I did all the work myself other than the notch and I should have gotten an alignment but I got lucky and the truck drove great without one.

just buy 2 inch drop springs in front and in the back you can get 2 inch drop hangers and 2 inch drop shackles
What's the bolt pattern on those wheels. I have an 03 f150 xl my bolt pattern is 5x135. Wondering if these would fit on mine. Thanks, nice truck

You can use leaf spring perch drops 2” and shackles 2” drop
Did you have to c notch the crossmember thats under the cab for driveshaft clearance.

how is the ride? smooth or hard with the 3 inch coil springs up front? i got a guy selling me some and also wondering what else is needed up front to lower it
You need different shocks for the smaller springs and you’ll need a camber kit for your upper control arms so you can get an alignment. It’s also a good idea to go ahead and change your ball joints. It’s actually rides really good!
Do the emblems fit on the same holes as the old ones ??
Herbert Lozoya no, had to trim the 09+ mounting holes off, ground them down flush and just stuck them on with 3Mdouble sided tape.

@@AllenJones506 Is it necessary to use aftermarket upper control arms or can yo just use a camber kit? Just ordered a 3/6 drop kit with c-notch plates for my 98 short bed and want to be sure I have everything needed.
@@daves5243 you should be good if you just use a camber kit. I had planned on getting DJM lowers but never got around to it before I sold it.

+35, seems excessive but Tucked nicely. Only problem I had was the center cap wouldn’t fit over the dust cover. Had to tweak it a bit

nice I have a 97 extended cab I'm running a 3/6 as of right now but I'm going 3/9 in the future just had and under bed notch done so it'll clear nice truck btw what else you got planned for it?
Jonathan Duran it's currently my daily driver, but as soon as I get a new truck, I plan on bagging it on 22's. Going with a basic 4 link probably, still need to do some more research.

hey can you tell me what type of wheel adapter you need to fit these rims? i imagine its hard to find rims to fit this bolt pattern
also what offset are your rims?
I searched for months before I found these. They were 20x9 with a +35 offset. I didn’t have to run adapters, these came in my lug pattern
@@AllenJones506 Thanks! im going to get the EXACT same rims accept the offset im going with +10 so they kinda stay inline with the fenders and dont go to far inward

Cody Turnbo check out the Garage X RUclips channel, they put a 4/6 drop on a long bed f150. My truck is just the 4.2L V6, wish it was a V8, but I like the gas mileage I get.

Mine had a 4.2, bought it with 43k miles and sold it with 110k miles. Other than replacing the coil packs, I never had a single issue
They are very reliable especially the 2v 4.6 and 5.4 now the 5.4 3v have their issues but nothing like having to replace the transmission or motor
