@@thomashaeusler In a way, you are somewhat right, but many veterans who were also Freikorps joined the Reichswehr, the same army who stopped Hitler in 1923. I'm guessing you are a Nazi and trying to get Freikorps so I'm not really going to prolong the discussion.
@hhabmow He is not wrong in what he says, however he is trying to say Freikorps were friends of Nazis which is absolutely WRONG. The Freikorps paramilitary unit was born to defend the state from degenerate and radical political thugs. We have records of Freikorps members confronting Nazis, or better, an early ultra nationalistic, racist and antisemitic form of them. Many Freikorps felt joining the nazis was high treason, a lot tried to join the Reichswehr, or the Schwarz Rot - Gold.
@hhabmow the freikorps literally fought out of devotion to the german monarch… why are you now siding with the “they were nazis” argument? I think that saying the freikorps “basically became the nazis” just because a lot later joined is silly because the 2 parties did not officially merge.
@hhabmow doesn’t explain how, as you being a monarchist, believe they were nazis? They were far more monarchist than nazi in their motivation

Sounds fine to me. I think what you’re hearing is the harmony. But the basic tune is there.
