The game looks fantastic, my favourite edition has always been 6th but the changes and ways this brings in and incorporates the later and even parts of earlier editions makes me very happy, hoping to have my first official game this Sunday. I also love that they have made close combat a give and take with less of an all or nothing, the different stages of losing combat are such a great thing. I’m also glad to see that the game will probably see smaller model numbers as the push for more and more miniatures on the table always felt like a mistake to me, almost as if the designers wanted to play warmaster in 28mm but just ended up turning off new players and stopping existing players from starting a new army as the buy in from not just money but effort was obscene.
Great insights lads, really enjoyed it, been a 5th ed vet to WAP and also a historical player, the Old World seems to be a nice blend of trying to stop over power destruction whilst having a good fantsasy ransom element to it. Time to dust off some minis and give the game a go and look forward to the channel showing some games, best of luck!
I'm loving the fact that you you said "the community needs to show some restraint". You've been to tournaments over the years, or just rucked up to a gaming event and faced some random, right? LOL! That said, I'm really looking forward to getting some games in.
Haha ye both fantasy and other games in my time... still I can just get smashed my first game and cruise the mid/bottom tables having fun playing a mid list!
For the algorithm! Lovely video lads, good to see the hype for the game. Very interested myself, might pop down to the whw day on Saturday if it's not mega heavin
I think it's funny you guys thought pre measuring was a deal breaker. It's my favorite change from 6th. I didn't play 7th or 8th. But the whole "you can't measure" was always really weird to me. It's a game all about distances but you can never measure? I never found "estimating distances" to be a fun mini game.
It’s just the personal taste, the guess of the ranges I always found to be a fun gamble between it Playing the game more I’m still 50/50 on it really, some things I like (measuring deployments/pre determining to prevent arguments) but the risk of being in and out of dispell ranges I think would be fun to mess around with, best thing about it being premeasure allowed this Ed is that when I’ve played people (staunchly into 6th people) we’ve been able to just agree not to premeasure cos they didn’t want to play with it
thats the major missconception. Its alot dumbed down, but also due to how the magic rules work, it is mandatory to have a Lvl4 mage for casting and dispelling, as you can dangerously buff certain units or inflict massive damage with Magic. Not using a Lvl4 Mage (in best case with Banninig or Casting Bonus) you open up yourself to getting wrecked and denied playing the game.
I like the more "grindy" melee and back and forth pushes. Not just breaking after taking a charge. But yes, I also think 6th was the best so far. Fingers crossed.
@@Emanon... You have not tried it yet. Looks fun. But theory-Hammer.. I will miss alot of fun and good stuff.. Right now I am more waiting for the models, not caring too much about rules yet.

Nice insights of the game, not played fantasy before but hoping this is a good reason to jump on it!

If you message before well let you know (we'll be there from 9)
Great information from a pair of god damn dreamboats

@@BearfootMiniatures that's a good point. Nothing says you *have* to measure.
Nice one guys
👍👍
Chaos magic was abusive and unbalanced in 8th edition. I'm glad Magic is more accessible and probably a bit nerfed.
thats the major missconception.

I dunno.. I still rate 6th Ed higher. And we have what we need, except possibly models..
