Great Review. Congratulation. I have F7 model, but I'll buy This new modelo F5. Thanks and good luck in your Channel in RUclips. André Dusicska, from São Paulo / Brazil.
Unfortunately the Bluetooth has some issues which cause wireless headset disconnect at a very short distance! Hopefully they fix it with update. Very informative by the way.
Thank you, I liked your review a lot, I was expecting a decent review of the Teclast F5 for a while now, and yours is the first, and it's very good, very well produced, you really know your stuff. Thanks so much. However, I expected a review of the touch screen when using the active stylus/pen. Do you plan to try it any time soon?
I’m looking for a 2 in 1 laptop that’s cheap but runs fine on web browsing with little to no lag Atm I have a asus vivobook flip 14 laptop with 4gb ram..it’s good but not good for web browsing, it gets a lot of input delay while I’m on Yt and such, *ANY SUGGESTIONS?*
Your Vivo Book runs a Core i5 right? Dunno why you have issues with web browsing. Plenty of power for that. If you need something faster there are no cheap options.
are you sure about the "fully laminated screen"? From my POV it looks in some angles in the video like a clear gab between the glas and the Display itself. I personally would not be surprised if this is a false info from the manufacturer. Check with your smartphone (in case its a modern, not too low budget one). The display would look like that IF it is a laminated one.
hi, great review...so no trace of thermal throttling? I saw another video from a russian guy and his teclast f5 seemed to have thermal throttling during some stress test. (frequency speed not going above 1.44ghz)
Based on tear down on Russian video no. It's soldered. The issue looks more antenna related. I would double-check that both WiFi & BT antenna cables are connected correctly. I had once a situation when on a new laptop BT antenna cable was not secured enough and detached.
Great review I had my f5 for about 2 weeks now and agree with you to all your points you made. Great little machine. One question if I want to swap out the original ssd with 256gb ssd I would have to clone the original ssd with win10?
Do you recommend for somebody who travels a lot and need a tiny lightweight laptop with confortable keyboard, very basic photoshop a lot of writing and mobility (in airplane, train etc)
And can we use the included charger to charge other devices? It says just '12V' without other modes... So I would be quite afraid to charge my phone with it. Is it a good idea?
It's a USB-PD charger. Of course you can charge any other device with it, even devices that do not support USB-PD. 12V is just the maximum voltage it puts out.
@@chinamobilemag Hello ChinaMobileMag, I would really like to know what does USB-PD means, in terms of powerbanks, is this laptop chargable via classic Xiaomi 20k mah power bank? Thank you in advance for your response. Sincerely your MirEso
Hi, have you found a PD powerbank that works with this? Many have reported weak battery life so this is important. I would like to buy this laptop, but haven't heard of anyone that has actually succeeded with a PD powerbank. Thx! If yes - which model?
I did not use a Power Bank. I used a USB PD charger. But it doesn't matter if it's a charger or a power bank as long as it supports USB PD. USB PD is a charging technology like Quick Charge 2, 3, 4 etc.
I do after reinstalling Windows is not a slave automatic activation of the tablet mode (continue to work the keyboard and touchpad). Do not know how to fix it?
Did you manage to find a solution for this as I'm having the same issue after a fresh re-install. Have tried multiple options but had no luck. All leads point to a custom service "hingeanglesensor" and I have followed instructions on how to restore this but didn't work. Perhaps give it a go and see if you would have any luck (refer to the solution on page 4 for F6 but could work for f5 too: techtablets.com/forum/topic/keyboard-and-touchpad-not-disabled-in-tablet-mode/page/4/ ) The best solution is ask someone who has the factory OS to clone the SSD and share with others. Perhaps ChinaMobileMag could help as he has the review F5
Great review! I have also purchased this and the first thing I've done was to reinstall windows (BIG mistake!!!). Of course being too confident I didnt create a backup image of the SSD and now the auto tablet mode and keyboard/touchpad deactivation doesnt work. I have tried all solutions on the web for similar convertibles (related to a service called hingeangleservice.exe) but had no luck. I would be eternally grateful if someone could share a SSD image/clone of this laptop as that seems to be the only way to get his functionality back
I just did a clean install to test this. Fixing it is quite easy. Open my driver backup and go to SoftwareComponent/HingeAngle Device/. In there you will find an "OEM40" file. Right click on it, click on "install" and reboot. Now automatic mode switching will work.
I have the choice between this Jumper EzBook 3 Pro V4 for 178€ Or the Teclast F5 for 300€ I have a gamer laptop which is my home beast and I need one for university and for some travelling... Does the 130€ difference seems worth to you to go for the Teclast F5?
hey, i bought he laptop a while ago and its a pleasure to use it, only the little rubber pads on the bottom are getting loose, and also im having a screen burn in on the to of my display, with the height of the close and minimalize buttons of windows 10, anyone experiencing the same issues? or is it just me?
Rubber feet still sit in place properly on my review unit. Strange they got loose on yours. Maybe just glue them back on lol. Regarding the screen burn: I have never seen that on my unit but it definitely can happen on IPS panels. Shouldn't be permanent though.
@Feet: In that case it would've happened to me as well because mine also gets warm under load. @Screen: The burn-in should disappear after being turned off for 30 minutes or so. If not, there is some hardware issue.
@@chinamobilemagive already had it turned off for a few nights, but it wont disappear, can i send you some images? could be that im wrong about it being a burn in...
My review unit has none of the issues you mention o.O Keyboard is totally fine, no noises. Doesn't feel great, but it's just fine. Material feels cheap? No, feels just like any other keyboard in terms of material. And what's wrong with the charger?
Don't have any different feeling keys on mine but tactile feedback isn't perfect. Regarding the noise you mention, I don't quite get it. Any keyboard I ever used in my entire life makes noises when gliding over the keys. Some more, some less, but all do it.
Why would you use an adapter for the power supply? Teclast ships it with a localized plug. No adapter needed except your seller screws up and ships a wrong power supply that's intended for use in another country.
Well, get a new adapter then. Included adapter with Chinese tech are always bad and shouldn't be used. They are dangerous. I got countless shocks already. 🤬
The F5 has 8GB of RAM, is more portable, has a convertible form-factor and has a slightly better display. It also has a classier look than the Chuwi imo, which has larger bezels. The Chuwi however has a larger trackpad, a larger battery, a backlit keyboard and a more convenient port layout. It's also a little cheaper. Both are excellent for the money imo, it just depends on what your priorities are. If the F5 had a backlit keyboard, I would buy it in a heartbeat as a secondary machine.
too small screen. For a tablet 10" is a max for comfort using, for a laptop at least 13.3" screen should be used. This thing is not comfortable to use as a tablet when you lying at sofa or use it like laptop sitting at the desk. And theremore it not good for children, small screen will cause fast worsening of sight. I'd have voyo v3. Only good thing in this laptop is 8gb of ram, no other gemini lake has it.
1st review of this product! Thanks man!
Cheers!
What's the processor???

Thanks for the helpful videos. I also love your accent. You sound like an evil genius from a James Bond movie.
🤣
Unfortunately the Bluetooth has some issues which cause wireless headset disconnect at a very short distance! Hopefully they fix it with update. Very informative by the way.
Yes, this has been mentioned in the review as well. There is no way to fix this with an update since it is a hardware issue.
I would like a thorough review of the disadvantages of Teclast F5 and the keyboard to turn on the light. Thank you.

Can it play games like heroes of newerth or dota 2?..
