I've recently got into Rivers of Nihil, thanks to Loudwire, and I've checked out the majority of when owls know my name, so far, my favorites are the silent life, a home , Capricorn, and the title track Dat sax sounds amazing!!
Dean you should look into microtonal guitars. They would suit the dissonant solos you write. Imagine instead of 12 pitches, you had 24, or more to solo on and write heavy music too?
I'm curious about your thinking behind switching pickups 1000% more often than anyone else lol? I'm trying to see a pattern of when you switch but I can't find it.
Lol so today because of this video, I started writing a riff using selective picking, alternate picking, and hybrid picking, because I need to broaden my arsenal. Thank you for the ever expanding inspiration and knowledge. I'm gonna try and write a solo after work with one of those tap bends.

Hey Dean, what program do you use that is able to play the tab out loud like that? also allowing you to switch from full instrumentation to just the lead. I'm a blind guitarist and musician and something like this would be so incredibly helpful for me to learn new stuff since I can't read sheet music or tabs and am working on my ear. Thanks for the vids, awesome music and chill vibes :) cheers
The think with Blotted Science is that every song have like 5-8 layers of guitars playing different notes. So its not just learning, u also have to arrange all that.
