    Hey dev here, found the video just in time for my lunch break. Really enjoyed watching it, was really fun, thank you.
    I was working hard on this little game for a long time now, and seeing you really having fun with it made me unreasonably happy, and remember why I even started making games in the first place!
    You were dead center on why these 50/50 situations happen and how you can deal with them. I'm working on improving this! Hope this didn't sap too much fun of playing.

    Red labeled cost indicates a 50% discount, at least that is my guess

      Yeah, considering I’m some games discounted prices are red, and the price was always half the other items. They could probably fix it with a small tag.

    This certainly reminds me of the Binding of Issac map layout, and honestly at first glance I thought someone who somewhat learned the secret room requirements for TBOI might do well here but it gets a bit more complex. Certainly an interesting game!

      I'm pretty sure this game used to be known as "Find me A Secret room" and used items from Isaac as its upgrades.

    About the last outsider room, it wasnt a 50:50, the second choice was (probably, i wont triangulate that shit) overall further from other secret rooms. I would argue the only 50:50 there was the regular secret room that would have been adjacent horisontally to the devil room, instead of the one that is adjacent vertically. And even then, thats what lives are for, your skill is to minimize the need to flip a coin.
    Overall love this game, would like to play full release.

      The problem is that Reto was calculating based on walking distance, instead of the actual distance.

    So, this game is actually an updated version of a game I played on itchio called "Find me a secret room" which does mention on the game description that it's based on the binding of isaac's secret room generation rules.

      Is secret room generation in Isaac actually an exact science or was it simply an inspiration? I know for example boss rooms in later floors follow the "hermit room" rule but I never heard anything about calculating exact super-secret room position

      @@Mat-8071 I'm not honestly familiar enough with the exacts of isaac's secret room generation to say for sure. I know the rules the generation of BOI's secret rooms are fairly similar (like the super secret room being far away from the starting room and only connected to one wall) but I'm not sure if it's an exact thing like the puzzle game or if some of the rules in BOI for it generating are more loose.

    At 44:40, you were cofused with the red secret room coz were looking at the wrong pair boss-battle room.
    When you found the 1st the is no rectangle with the top left boss since they are on the column, the recrangle was with the top right boss room.
    And the same was happening with thw lower rooma

    Weirdly enough, i feel like this would work better without the relics and just be a minesweeper puzzle game

      I like that the relics are more QoL than strictly "here's the answer" and a few things seemed like you needed to deduce some other room to rule it out

      imo there should just be two modes, one like this, and one where you just get a single generated puzzle with no passives or items, would be easy enough to do and doesn't have to take away from people who prefer one.

    At first I didn't think it could get complex and interesting enough to warrant a longer gameplay, but later stages with bigger maps and distance rules were very cool!

    ok thats pretty neat! im torn because guesses feel bad but also there were few enough guesses that it's very reasonable to treat that as part of the item play - you mentioned active items, but i think your passive item that gave you armor per floor is a very reasonable approach to the occasional guess as well.

    I think the game itself doesn't know where the rooms are, and check if every conditions are respected for any type of room then spawns it
    So there's not 50/50's

      If that was the case, he wouldn't have gotten a mistake for the regular secret room in the final level

    This game looks exciting! Its very original and reminds me of classic games like sudoku or minesweeper and even better it has roguelite elements in it!

    I wonder if there’s a priority to spawning rooms
    Like at 32:22
    What if the game spawned the angel rooms before any hermit rooms and there found yes that could be a hermit room but the other secret rooms trump it form spawning
