I didn't know the story behind this song. It's a beautiful thing that Paul wrote this song for American's. And it's wonderful that Beyoncé is bringing it back to the public eye. I want to wish you all the best of luck in the country music community 🙏🏼 ❤️
I also like the fact that in Paul’s original it feels dead silent except for him, there are no harmonies, unlike Beyoncé’s , which I feel makes it more fitting for the time that each was performed. Paul’s in a time that there was great struggle and Beyoncé’s where now more people can be heard, thus the layers of black female country singers harmonies
@@Isaiah538 While many articles state that the guitar and foot tapping from the original song were used, the credits to Cowboy Carter state that only the acoustic guitar was used. So you may be right.
In my Beatles Recoding Sessions, the Official Abbey Road Studio Session Notes, it still says on page 137 at the bottom, "his acoustic guitar and a metronome gently ticking away in the background." ( I had to use a magnifying glass just now. )

Beyonce and those 4 beautiful ladies harmonically sounded amazing, like actual birds taking flight. She is using her mega superstardom to pay it forward for those that have been trying to get their respect in the genre. Of course there is going to be resistance. The world is ready to evolve into better people, and the toxic cave people will always double down on their ignorance and bigotry. Why are so many of these comments so needlessly negative? The Beatles are one of my favourite bands. I knew the basic history of this song so I find it lovely that Beyonce and other Black women covered it together. They all seem very talented, and I have enjoyed multiple Beyonce songs in the past
It's 1966 that they stopped touring because of exhaustio of touring and being annoyed of screaming crowd they can't even hear they songs so they choose to be studio band experimenting with sounds & instruments they the inside of the studio it start in Sgt Pepper's session to White Album session but they think playing live shows again during the let It be session but they scarp it and just perform the some of songs they make on that sessions and performing it the rooftop of their recording studio.
They stopped touring in 1966 but not because of segregation but rather all the screaming going on made it impossible for them to hear themselves live. They didn’t have that problem in their concerts tho as they had a clause. There’s a story of a show, in florida i believe, during their first US tour in 1964 where they made the promoters change their contracts to state that if the Beatles walked out onto a segregated audience where blacks and whites would not be together, the band would walk back in and not perform. The promoters were mad and their manager was nervous of how this would be perceived. In the end the promoters caved and agreed to the band’s conditions. The result: as one black audience member put it, everyone, blacks and whites were together, screaming and having fun and she felt that everyone was united as one in their love for the Beatles, something she had never experienced before.

Big bullshit omg! She covered this song in honour of history...the Beatles transitioned into country at one point and the song is a resonance to history....nothing to do with those singers trying to make a place in country omg
Disagree tbh... It is symbolic that Beyoncé used these Country singers and this specific song on her Country album, clearly. And when in the world did the Beatles ever transition into Country? They tried and played around with various genres, including Country, but never transitioned into one genre. And isn't "resonance to history" exactly what the person was talking about in the video?
@@latonyasandusky3831 yes it’s my opinion. I am entitled to have one. Your comment is also an opinion. And I care as much about your opinion as Beyoncé does about mine. Have a great day.

Wtf is wrong with you??? The hate the venom is terrible. We’re fighting every day because of people like you!!! You’ve never walked a day in the shoes of Black Americans so don’t ask something ignorant like you’ve said!!!! Our lives matter!!!!
That's incredibly stupid to say. No matter from who or where it comes from, racism is a terrible thing. The message of the music is something that still echoes on society till this day. I agree about the racism against Asians being a problem, specially after the Korean culture rising, but that doesn't nullify the music's message at all.
In England, women are referred to as 'birds', just like American women were referred to as 'chicks'.

This explains why the Beatles stopped touring after 1964 and just released studio albums.
That’s definitely apart of it. I think another reason was also they wanted to become more experimental in the studio.

I read this about a week ago…it makes so much sense. She honored his song in the best way possible! 💙
Although Beyoncé’s cover is excellent, I far prefer The Beatles’ original version with the bird songs.
The original is better

I came on here to hear her song, instead I sat in on a lecture
Well, go listen to the song, then. Did you not see the title?
Bruh it's not her song it's Paul mccartneys song
It amazes me how the human race refuses to evolve. Negativity and racism are an ugly thing. It's just music, get over it.
