- I ran into the portal Gordon freeman jumps in and i came into xen except it says something like ca1title weird why is this level in Opposing Force??? do it yourself and look for secrets and other stuff in this map.

This isn't exactly a secret level, it's an alternate ending where Shepard has made a temporal paradox, and he then falls to his death.
***** I not sure to say it wasn't an alt non-cannon ending. I found this on my first playthrough lol.

You can't do this ingame. You just appear in xen and fall to your death.

That's what happens when you jump in the portal. It takes you to a different Xen map, which has you falling to your death while a message scolds you for "attempting to create a temporal paradox"

I went to this level the first time i played opposing force. I was so freaked out that i nocliped into the Xen station trying to find out what the hell to do. Scary Experience.

its called that because the map doesn't have a title and the map is called c4a1 that's why. Go on the original half life and type in the console map c4a1 u will see that it has Xen in the title

No because the RC wouldn't have happened as gordon wouldn't have been around to use the HEV Suit and hence push the crystal sample into the anti-mass spectrometer.
They'd have had to use either gina cross or colette green but they were both required underneath the test chamber.
So no, Nihilanth would have been defeated by the combine. But we'd have still eventually met the combine.
@Grimblix Blue Shift has one new weapon though, which is the little monster thing that spits out its rope-like tongue... thing. You use it to get to otherwise unreachable places.

Some of you guys are talking about a "temporal paradox". Can somebody please explain me how Shepard teleporting to Xen following Freeman may create a temporal paradox? Cause I don't really get it.
+Sidious82 Gordon teleports to Xen to kill Nihilanth. Shepard's assignemnt is to captre Gordon, therefore following him might lead to Nihilanth's survival which means no Combine and no HL2 events.

+Sidious82 The storyline of Opposing Force is less important than Half-Life's. It doesn't matter what happens in Opossing Force, it only matters that anything can happen as long as it leads to Gordon killing Nihilanth.
Indeed, but again, that would not lead to a temporal paradox, since events in Opposing Force do occur BEFORE those in Half-Life 2. If Shepard killed Freeman HL2 might not exist, but still that is no temporal paradox since it does not affect Opposing Force.
i dont think adrian gives a shit about freeman at the point of when you see him go into xen, as the same government who sent him has turned on him, so he has no more obligation to kill freeman, and also if he did meet up with freeman at that point they would probably end up helping each other since their enemies are the same

@EterniumOfficial The HEV suit actually includes a helmet. And goldscr includes a gordon's model wearing that helmet... I don't understand why gearbox used the non-helmet model in Op.Force
Valve didn't make Opposing Force. They were developing Team Fortress 2, and also beginning work on Half-Life 2 (TF2 was meant to come out in 1998 or 1999, but the concept changed lots of times. Team Fortress Classic is an example of what TF2 was supposed to be). They left the work on the expansion packs to Gearbox Software.

C4A1 is the name of the map. There is no entry for it in Opposing Force's titles.txt (Gearbox probably forgot). Have a look at titles.txt, you can make the level names say whatever you want lol
If you like HL1 you should get Blue Shift and Opposing Force if you haven't tried them. Blue shift seems to lack content (no new weapons, game's too short, etc) but Opposing Force has some cool weapons and you have a team to work with. Both of them take place during the HL1 Black Mesa incident. You see Gordon Freeman in both those games, but he's like the gman, you only see him briefly in places you can't get to without noclip.
For everyone saying he cheated and that YOU fall to your death, read the wiki on what "noclip" is

Besides the fact that the copyright disclaimer was totally unnecessary, Opposing Force was an expansion pack by GearBox. Valve had little to nothing to do with it.
You are actually supposed to fall down seeing gordon run away. You arent supposed to go into the Portal but if you do then you get this you fall and what SRMTHFGLover1 Said Is what you see

and technically its a glitch that the developers forgot to delete.
I know why it did this. if you have a copy of half life 1 on steam and OP force on steam, then you can do this. when you enter the portal that gordon goes in, then the game swaps to the HL1 maps whithin game and you spawn where you are supposed to spawn on OPR. as a result, you can see gordon as a player and cant play as him.
as a result, its a game inside a game.
The alternate ending of half-life? Gordan gets blown up by adrian sheperd that just nocliped into gordan in xen....Sounds like the best ending ever!

Valve probably put the map there to have Gordon teleport somewhere in the game you'd normally never find him. It was probably easier to keep the script then create a new one for a black box.
Actually Gearbox Software made this game... It's actually a secret ending, if you go through the portal the screen will read:
"Subject: Shepard
Status: Evaluation terminated
Postmortem: Subject attempted to create a temporal paradox."

You don't need to create a map where you put 1 character, duh just create a room that player doesn't have access to, the reason why they created the map is because people would try to get in the portal, so they created it to show people what happens when they do it so.
So people know, it's not a secret but it is cool. If you follow him thru you come out in a bad exit and fall down and die but you see gordon off in the distance.
It's Half Life : Opposing Force. In this game you don't play as Gordon Freeman but a soldier. He did use noclip and godmode to be able to get into the portal with Gordon Freeman.

Well this is more like a glitch. Opposing Force has the same assets as the original Half- Life. So, in half life if you type in the counsel menu map c1a0 yo will go to anomalous materials. If you type c1a0 in Opposing Force you will go to anomalous materials. So basically if you type in the number of any map in Half-Life in Opposing Force you will play that chapter that was in the original Half-Life. You know how it says C4A TITTLE when you got into xen. c4a is part of the xen map in Half-Life. I hope you understand what i'm saying because going to xen was gust a glitch that happened accidentally and the developers did not realize.
No mate it's not a glitch, it's a way the devs tell pkayers what happens when Shepard travels into that portal, the devs forgot to put the title name of the chapter xen and you arennot supposed to be here. Also since Gearbox just ported these down to the game, expect it to run like the original ( because the .wad itself was linked directly to HL )

i dont speak inglish very well so i will say it in spanish : ese mapa es de hl1 lo que quieren hacer es que si entras al portal con gordon apareses con el en xen pero no sobre una plataforma lo cual te lleva a morir eso es como un camino sin salida ya que cuando mueres te sale el mesaje de "PARADOX"

Don't need noclip to do that; I did it by accident my first playthrough. Chased Freeman into the portal and got to Xen. Thing is, normally, it fades to black after a moment and text is supposed to appear saying something like "Evaluation terminated: Subject tried to create a paradox." I don't remember exactly; it's been years.
But yea, it leads to Game Over and you start from your last save. Well, unless you QuickSaved in Xen... then you're screwed.

If u jump into the portal and shoot off a well placed grenade, you can actually kill Gordan without cheating. U see is body go splode like in this video.

ok what they did was they had gotten an HL1 map and put it in the game so that it makes sense and that you go there did u know in HL1 that a marine will fall out of a 1-100 chance

maybe its a level in OF but you cant into it buy jumping into the portal gordon jumped into.

You can teleport there but your contract is terminated like when you fail a mission in HL2. I think its only there cause you had to teleport somewhere but you should fall to your death at that point. Its what happened to me anyway.

It's not really much f a secret. It would've been a secret if it was hidden in the game files and not accessible in-game (unless via console commands ofcourse).

It actually doesn't say "C4A1TITLE" in the original disc version. Just a bug introduced with some patch.
