You're actually using ds4windows wrong in order for it to work properly you'll need another program called hihide which will hide your controller that way any settings you do in ds4 will work but if you do it normal nothing will happen.
im using rewasd to connect to ds4 with a Xbox elite. all steps worked for me as far as installing and changing to 8000 . but when i reconnect to ds4 windows it does not show the change in controller readings tab. still says 3 ms like before. any suggestions?

8000hz is a bug , also , it gives me massive unplayable fps drops , from 240 to 30-40 and stutters badly , better choise set 1000hz and on ds4 1000 polling rate as well , 0ms and 0.5 ms is the same lol

You can use the other one it works the windows 11 one just has too many folders you have to open not like normally when you zip in and the driver folder would be there

My controller wasn’t showing up on ds4 anymore, and then I restarted my pc. and my keyboard doesn’t work, I tried unplugging it begins to light up, but I can’t type and it shuts off
Control panel-hardware and sounds-devices-righclickcontoller-properties-hardware-properties-change settings-second tab-delete device- restart computer-start ds4windows. The controller should show up again.

Pretty much, polling rate is how many times the device gets an update per a second 1000 = 1 every millisecond, 8000 = 0.125

the difference is truly negligble , try 8000hz or updating controller drivers
