- I’m finally doing a Wash N Go after 2 YEARS! But this time I’m experimenting with 2 different gels and I’ll be using Uncle Funky’s Daughter Curly Magic Curl Stimulator on the right side of my hair and Camille Rose Curl Maker on the left side.
So I’ll be sharing my methods, results and how I found using them on my hair.

Just a little tip, Uncle Funky's needs to be used on soaking wet hair. That way you have no stickiness. Great video👍🏾

Hair must be soaking wet out of the shower with Uncle Funky! Its all over RUclips with this 30 day hair detox thing. Soaking wet hair, apply gel you will get massive definition and then shake your head after, hooded dryer to get at least 60% dry.

I love your result. I love both gel. With uncle funky I tend to pair it with a mousse because otherwise it doesn't last. I just put à bonnet at night and fluff it in the morning

love your videos, so imformative, where did you get that spray bpttle that you use?. ive only recently been able to do wash and goes and ive been plaiting my hair but im going to start using the hairbands instead.
Ahh…thank you! Happy to hear it 🥰 The spray bottle was sent to me by Tangle Teezer, but there’s lots of similar ones online. But yes, try using the bands, as it’s quick to add and won’t alter the results.
That's not how you use those gels. Hair should be freshly washed conditioned and detangled with a tool and the gel should be applied to soaking wet hair. That was way too much product, hence the sticky gummy feel and non absorption of excess product. Hair should then be set to dry under a hooded dryer or diffused.
@Star Heat protection is needed for direct heat onto the hair.. A hooded dryer same as defusing, are indirect heat.. Its more so like being outside on a sunny day with the wind blowing opposed to direct concentration of heat used to manipulate hair pattern.. There seems to still be very much confusion regarding what is and isn't healthy for Kinsler hair patterns.. I've need using indirect heat since my most recent big chop in Oct 2021 and have had 0 negative effects.. In fact my wash and go set lasts longer, have more definition, and my hair retains more moisture.. Hope that helps..

I've got both gels as well. I loved the UFD when my hair stylist did a wash and go on me for the first time and kept it for 10 days was still so moist and bouncy, I would have carried on but cos of SD I had to wash. I tried it myself with the UFD leave-in creme and spray but had to mix both gels cos I've only got the sample size UFD since it's a bit pricey. I think the Camille rose gave me flakes as well, twice. Another attempt at wash and go tomorrow, Camille rose has 1 last chance lol with soaking wet hair. I'll try that banding method, thanks for the tip👍🏾 cos I get MAJOR shrinkage, everyone thinks I've cut my hair 😂
😄 Yeah, try the banding method, I’m sure it will help. I also told myself that I’ll try the Camille Rose Gel one more time, so will see how it goes when the time comes. Anyway, hope your WNG turns out great this time 🤞🏾😅

I find it odd that you would band stretch your hair, when the purpose of the WNG is to wear your natural curls? But maybe that works? Hmm might try? 😂

i always get flakes when i use camille rose. with or without a leave in. my favorite is the UFD,
Ahhh...so I'm not the only one then. It's a great gel, but I don't think I'll be using it again which is a shame.
I think the key with the Camille Rose is to use it on soaking wet hair. Like still in the shower. That helps get rid of the stickiness and no flakes.
@@naomip3002 hey. I did it on soak and wet hair following the directions. I still got flakes. Then I tried it alone, then with thr leave in. I still got flakes. All of the trials on soak an wet hair. From what I've seen, Most botanical gels require soak an wet hair so I just gave up at that point. Lol

I got it from my local hair shop, but you should be able to find it in most hair stores.

How to people do this?! 😮I tried the product. Doesn’t work on my hair type 😅 My hair is so stubborn. It won’t cooperate. I never wear my hair out.
I tried both of these gels as well and I definitely preferred the Uncle Funky’s Daughter! The Camille Rose was decent but my hair was a bit fluffier and frizzier. The UFD definitely had my hair shinier and more defined. It’s my fave product for a wash n go. I pair it with the Camille Rose honey hydrate leave in and my hair is ridiculously soft and shiny!
Yeah, they’re both decent gels and good quality and I’ll defo use the UFD again, but on soaking wet hair. That combo with the Camille rose honey hydrating leave in sounds good 👌🏾👌🏾
I was thinking about using this gel with that leave in. Glad to know they work well together, will try that next time.
