The stock brickwall limiter in Reaper is also pure class. Extremely transparent.
Thank you, at least I sort of understand it.
great crash course on compression
It really is. I'm sending it to one of my friends who could use the education.
TLDR; I love this series! Makes me even consider taking the plunge and go for the full Ultimate Guide.
Last week I'd watched your 101 basics from a few years ago, when I found out you had it updated to the recent Reaper versions and started watching them instead.
I'm a Linux user and normally would use Ardour (well, use is a big word, as I didn't use it a lot), but more and more I get interested in 'making music'.
In recent years I've heard people speaking highly of Reaper, so I was interested in learning more about it. And I must say, I'm impressed! Not only with Reaper, but also with this 101 series. It's really going in-depth, far more than I anticipated. This series made me buy Reaper yesterday, as it's 100% Linux compatible, which I would like to support, and as it's only just over € 70,- (including VAT), it's really a bargain! I only wish more VST plugin companies would make Linux plugins (Cherry Audio, looking at you). I already own Hive and Zebra from u-he and I bought Vital. Luckily with yabridge I can use the Cherry Audio stuff, but it would be more ideal if they were Linux native.
This particular episode made me want to respond. The way you explain compression, was really good to understand. Thank you for sharing! It makes me wanting to learn more about making music and I'm now even considering in taking the Ultimate Guide to Reaper course. (My only problem is that through the years, as I'm not the youngest, my ears don't hear the high frequencies anymore. For mixing that seems a big problem to me.)
Again, thanks for this great series!
The amount of information you pack into these videos is incredible. Thank you.
Holy shit!! Hair cut!! Looks great bud! love your vids, been a huge help
Your studio looks amazing
i guess the comments on the previous video that got into processing audio on external computers was a bit out there... though it looks like reinsert is the plugin that usually handles that.
hi Adam thanks again for doing these
quick question tho...why can we not save these to a playlist? for future reference for example
thanx again and be well always!!
i can... was this updated since you posted, or are you having trouble finding the functionality?
also... he has it saved as a playlist on his channel already ruclips.net/video/7N0eK0shC_g/видео.html
The blank space for the plugin disappeared. How do i get it back .
Maybe you hid the FX inserts. Try the 'Mixer: Toggle show FX inserts' action from the action list.
It's also possible that the Mixer is too small to show inserts. Try resizing it to have taller tracks (grab the blue live appearing on top of the mixer and drag it up).
