DAVID ARELLANO ZAMORA (DAZ) was a pioneer in west coast hip hop being one of three original members of the Chicano group Spanish Fly, THe groups origin came from the HARBOR ARE where gangs , drugs and violence was running rapid in the mid 80s, and their tough street rap was no different, they unlike most other rappers began to incorporate oldies and low rider type beats that are so prevalent in the Cholo lifestyle into their music, unfortunately due to their inexperience not only in the music industry but in life as well, it seemed as if egos, drugs and the street life was jus to much and soon after selling over 250 thousand copies they broke up and went their separate ways, DAZ however never gave up on the group or himself going to college, getting a master’s degree and now working as a counselor in Boyle heights where he mentors young men so as not to make the same mistakes so many kids in barrio do, this is the amazing story of MR DAZ AND OF COURSE OF SPANISH FLY...
