    Woooooh,This one is rough! I like blumaan but you are right. It does get a bit oily at the end of the day! Anyways keep up the good work and let us know when you stop liking saloon guy products! ;)

      Blumaan is better than salon guy . Using blumaan original and cavalier will give you the best hairstyle than the whole salon guy line

      @@adityaakashanand2334 not in the slightest, blumaan products are all basically the same (cavalier excluded) they're all low shine, medium hold light weight products. The scents are all awful, the packaging is low quality and the price is insane for the amount you do get..

      Thanks! I use a Nikon D5500 with a 50mm/1.8 lens mostly. Sometimes I use the 24-55mm kit lens too but 95% of the time I use the prime lens. My one gripe with the camera is that the auto-focus sucks so someday I’d like to upgrade, but other than that I love it.

    Hi, first of all very honest and unbiased video, thumbs up! What do you recommend for a guy with thick hair (I have a sort of pompadour with sides blended in)? I've always used cavalier clay but now I'm thinking to buy the Salonguy Clutch XL. Is the last one still a good clay or have you come across some better ones? (I want a matte finish, high hold for the day)

    • @TDMStyle
      @TDMStyle  6 лет назад +1

      Thanks! Personally I still like regular Clutch over the XL version, but either one will definitely do the job! Lately too I have really been loving the Fuertes clay and Stickmore clay fiber.

    Nice video, Matt. Admittedly, I was one of the guys who bought Cavalier largely due to your review. No roasting here though, haha. It has been a good learning experience, but I do find that my hair looks different as little as 30 minutes after application. I don't mind that it needs washing out because I prefer to shampoo daily anyway. Between Clutch, Lockhart's, Baxter, or other comparable products you prefer over Cavalier, which would you say has the mildest scent? IIRC, Baxter is often described as having a strong licorice scent and reviews on performance have been somewhat mixed for the past couple of years.

    • @TDMStyle
      @TDMStyle  6 лет назад

      Thanks! Hmm mildest scent is a tough one really. I don’t really think Baxter smells very strong, but I could see how people get licorice from it. For Lockhart’s I’ve only used the Fire and Brimstone clay, which does have a strong scent. Not sure how the regular version compares. Clutch has my favorite scent of the bunch and also is just my favorite one in general, as far as performance goes. I hope this helps!

    Hey matt, like the idea of this vid! I bought the very first blumaan meraki edition back when it came out, and I gotta say... it'll take a lot of convincing and great reviews for me to ever want to buy another blumaan product again. Anyway I'm still looking for a good clay with hold and texture that's not too heavy or oily... any recommendations?

    • @TDMStyle
      @TDMStyle  6 лет назад +2

      Thanks so much! Definitely give Clutch by TheSalonGuy a go - it's very light, very matte, and has excellent hold and texture. My current favorite clay, hands down.

    Hey Mat, I have both original and cavelier as my daily use products and I kinda agree with you. I have normal to thick long hair and I’m on the lookout for new products. What would you recommend for a prestyler and a post?

    • @TDMStyle
      @TDMStyle  6 лет назад

      Always prestyle with a hair oil, also i'll usually use Lockhart's antigravity (thickens and adds texture)
      For post styles after blow-dry I'll use, Lockhart's Clay, Apothecary 87 clay, Dauntless wax cream, or Lockhart's Phantasm for something that isn't matte

    • @TDMStyle
      @TDMStyle  6 лет назад

      There are a ton of them out there, so it really depends on what you want it to do. If you want something to give you volume and hold, try a mousse! But there are also lots of serums, smoothers, styling creams, tonics, blow dry sprays, etc. What exactly are you after in terms of performance?

    • @nostalgiafactor733
      @nostalgiafactor733 6 лет назад

      Thanks for the reply! I'm after volume and hold mostly, but I also want a matte finished with a smooth texture. I used to use mousse but it leaves my hair awfully crispy and I personally don't like that. I might look into serums.

    • @TDMStyle
      @TDMStyle  6 лет назад

      Yeah I know the feeling - it’s hard to find a good mousse that doesn’t make your hair crispy. I’ve been trying Prestyle gel-mousse by TheSalonGuy which doesn’t cause that feeling and works pretty well. I also really like Moroccanoil Smoothing Lotion, but it doesn’t give you much hold. I’d try some styling creams! They are generally light/medium hold but provide a good base for post-styling.

      I think you would do great with Oasis clay from Templeton Tonics if it is available in your area! Also I still love Clutch and Hustle from TheSalonGuy but they are more of a medium to medium-firm hold, while Oasis is very strong.

    Just ordered my 2nd container of cavalier clay...you definitely need to have a good feel for how to use it meaning starting with using a little amount & layering as needed. You were probably using too much which caused your hair to be oily by day's end...I'm also a fan of the smell

    • @TDMStyle
      @TDMStyle  6 лет назад +2

      Like I said I don’t think it’s bad, and I actually like the smell too. But after using it for a few months, I always have heavy oil levels in my hair, even if I used a tiny tiny amount.

      I would, but all of them have been used and I feel like I would only want to give away unopened products rather than used ones.

    Listen blumaan is a worldwide product
    Yes its hard to get off the container but other than that everything is fine

    • @TDMStyle
      @TDMStyle  6 лет назад +1

      Just because a company offers worldwide shipping, that doesn’t automatically mean that the product(s) are good or that they will work well for everyone. If they work for you, great. But as far as I’m concerned, there are several products out there that just outperform these.

  • @PatrickKendrick1988
    @PatrickKendrick1988 4 года назад

    The only good product Blumaan has put out is their Original Styling Meraki. All the rest were either mediocre, below average... or in the case or Cavalier Clay, simply God awful. I swear, that greasy garbage is 70% play doh

    You keep saying that there are “So many other clays” that are better than the BluMaan products which is completely fine but you never listed them or mentioned the superior products making your opinion lack credibility

    • @TDMStyle
      @TDMStyle  6 лет назад +3

      I did mention a few in the video. It would be silly to make a laundry list of all the clays in the world. Just to name a few... Clutch, Clutch XL, Stickmore Clay Fiber, Baxter of CA Clay Pomade, Lockhart’s Matte Clay.

      Also this was the first Product Revisit in the series and as I mentioned, it was completely off the cuff. If you watch the other later episodes where I had more of an overall “plan” for the videos in terms of layout, I do list more alternatives.
