    Just watched this last night. What a great indie film. I totally enjoyed it. The gore was great & the overall tone & vibe of the film was spot on. Yeah its low budget but you can feel all the love for the genre from everybody involved. & how goddamn creepy was art the clown? Love to see what these guys could do with more cash behind them. Class stuff. I loved it.

    I picked this movie up at Redbox this weekend and really wasn't expecting much from it. Totally blew me away. I loved it. Art the clown is so freaking scary. Loved that they didn't hold back on the kill scenes and the gore. I am definitely going to buy this and add to my collection. I also looked up All Hallows Eve and watched it, another very good film, especially the last movie on the tape. Look forward to seeing a sequel in the future.

    Mike Giannelli and David Howard Thornton were both perfect as Art.
    First impressions are powerful and, for those of us who saw All Hallows Eve, Giannelli was our first impression of Art the Clown.
    I can't speak for everyone, but I wouldn't have been nearly as excited for the character to get his own feature-length film if Giannelli hadn't been as brilliant as he was.
    Thornton had a lot to live up to and, not only did he not disappoint, he thrived. He definitely did right by all of us.

      Nunya Biznaz I got to hang with the director and the actor who plays Art. They were great guys. They are working on part 2 now. I’m glad the film has gotten so much recognition in the horror community. True slasher fans get the film.

      Sinister Cinema Reviews that’s the problem, people can’t appreciate the genre! This film to me is a showcase for Art the Clown, a black comedy ( I laughed every time Art did), and a homage to grindhouse gorefests of the 80’s!

    Great review!! I first saw this film in 2018 and loved it instantly, and after numerous rewatches and actually liking it more and more each time it’s entered my top 10 horrors of all time! I love it that much ❤️ but it’s a fucking masterpiece! It’s nasty and brutal! With amazing atmosphere, that is so 80’s, and a great great performance from David Howard Thornton!! I absolutely love him as an actor and I love the character of Art! I’m a massive horror fan, I’ve seen all the classics, lots of Asian horror and other foreign films, lots of underrated and unknown. But Terrifier is something truly special. And I am so bloody excited for the sequel! You can tell Damien Leone is also a massive horror fan, this is such a homage but a film in its own right. Hope he goes far in the directing world too! LOVE this film. Can’t say it enough haha.

    So cool that Art, himself, reached out and thanked you for your review. I’ve seen some creepy shit over the years, but this is the first time in a long time when a horror character freaked me the fuck out...especially when he pulled that Leatherface move. The way he moved his body and was like playing with his hair was the stuff of nightmares. Moving on, I was wondering what you thought about Art using a gun. My horror movie maniac of a friend was massively mortified, but it didn’t bother me at all. It felt, to me, like Art took such glee in killing, that he liked to switch up his weaponry just to keep things interesting. One final note, I would love an origin story in the sequel.

    Did you notice the homage to the classic opening of the original A Nightmare on Elm St.? In the opening scene of Terrifier the camera is panned down at Art's feet same as Freddy. And then on to the weapon building scene in the old dirty warehouse.
    I loved that scene and the old hole in the wall diner scene. I think I know what shocked you. Did it have something to do with something being upside down?

    Killer Flicks did not let me down. I blind bought it, watched it tonight, and then came straight here to watch your review. Art was amazing. All of his mannerisms from sinister to comedic were spot on. When he would silently laugh and make gestures like he just heard a joke I was laughing and creeped out all at the same time with my eyes glued to the screen. The opening pulled me right in. Art is an instant horror icon.

    i'm just a casual scary movie fan. never had a favorite horror movie villain. his presence alone in the diner is at the same time nightmare fuel as he is interesting. the best thing is, is that the director just told david to make random faces so it was all him. the blond improvised a lot in that scene as well.

  • @demonicsweaters

  • @johnland8372
    @johnland8372 4 года назад

    What i love about this film is that it broke the rules of slasher films.
    Like in one scene when Art was finishing of Tara, he surprised me when he pulled a gun out. Like that hardly happens in SLASHER films.
    And at the end the movie took a supernatural plot twist where he comes back to life as if he can't even be killed, which is great!! Which probably means we'll get to see more of Art.
    This is a nightmare we deserve!

    Wow dude I love your channel so much. Terrifier was great and a completely raw grindhouse experience. Wish I could have seen it at a drive-in or an old run down hole-in-the-wall $1 theater!
    Also wanted to compliment your shirt, Halloween III: Season of the Witch is an underrated masterwork imo...I'd say next to Trick R Treat and maybe the original Halloween, Season of the Witch manages to truly capture that 'Halloween feeling' better than most films. Truly an unfairly maligned film.

      @B1Kobe0824 4 года назад

      @@mindriot91_96 hmm I wouldn't go that far I feel that people are just more hard to please in today's world. Maybe films aren't quite as inventive as they were in the 70's, 80's, and early 90's but in its defense just about all ideas for a horror film has been done. However you still get plenty of good with the bad just as always even back then.

    Thanks for this review man, i watched it and loved it, the decisions of the characters is always infuriating, like that Exterminator guy knocked Art out and decided not to restrain him? If you're not going to kill the guy at least restrain him so he can't get to you, but it never works out like that in horror films does it haha

    I’m not necessarily a gore hound but, I can appreciate me a good Slasher with lots of guts every once in a while. Heck, the Slasher genre is probably my favorite horror genre ever and a clown Slasher movie really? This sounds so, interesting to me because, to my memory there isn’t a lot of Slasher movies where the villain is a killer clown. There’s obviously monster movies with killer clowns the most famous one that made a lot of money 2 years ago was IT 2017 which I’m so pumped for the loser’s club to come back to Derry to finish the job on September 6th of this year. If you have never seen it or reviewed it I would recommend a low budget killer clown film that’s extremely fun to me at least called Clown where this Clown can’t make it to this little kids birthday party so, his father finds a random clown costume in an attic underneath a building he’s a realtor for gets it home puts it on and the outfit won’t come off it essentially turns into a second skin and I won’t spoil any of the details that’s going on with the suit etc. I just thought it’s on Netflix still, I believe and if you’ve never seen it, it’s a really fun monster clown movie to check out @SinisterCinemaReviews

    I wanted them to die, I'm too big a fan of Art and some people don't like that take and maybe it wasn't meant that way, but the second Art was on screen I kept thinking "this is what a scary clown looks like, I don't want him to die" though I still enjoyed the film when he wasn't on screen, the kills and gore were amazing and Art the clown is easily a new favorite. Solid review and so glad to see so many horror fans talking about this movie and so far its all been positive which the film deserves along with David Thornton getting credit for bringing that presence to the role

    Saw it last wednesday on Bluray. Holy shit..i have never expected this....."Art" is awesome and best portraited by David Thornton..an outstanding performance. He´s scary and the kills were all amazing and free from CGI..maybe Art is the better version of chromescull in that vein....a cool an atmospheric slasher with gallons of blood, a good creepy eighties score and well shot look..hope to see mor of "Art"...mor than worth to take a look. And that kill with that saw with that girl......jop :)

    I really wanted to like it. But I thought it dragged and the special effects weren't great. Also, the beginning seemed like it belonged in a different movie altogether. I liked the lead girl though.

      Laura Marie I did a full spoiler review on this for when you watch it. I got to hang with the director and the actor who plays the clown (he’s actually in the comments below). Cool guys.
