9 year old in 1942: Bambi was great lemme wait for the next one 64 years later: 73 year old: damn that was a great sequel Kid in 2023: lemme see Bambi and Bambi 2 tonight
Considering that year-gap, Bambi 2 gives off the same feelings and vibes of the original, which is more than I can say for most movie sequels that were made with barely a decade between a gap. Also, am I the only one who liked Bambi 2 slightly better than the original? I just like that we get more of child Bambi and get to explore the relationship with him and his dad.
no, your not the only one dude. i like bambi 2 slightly more than the original. and i know there are actully some people out there who like the second.
Bambi was perfect, but I like Bambi 2 a whole lot more. it fleshes out the characters a lot more & emphasizes on Bambi’s relationship w/his father & processing the grief of loosing his mother, which I think is beautiful ❤ also, Faline got more development & screen time, she’s my favorite character in the Bambi fandom. so, no, you’re not the only one. 😊 💎💜!!
I like them both equally, for different reasons. The first one felt more like an experience. A story was present, but it mostly took a back seat to world building and letting its audience peer into the life of a single deer. It was an art piece. The second movie was more about the heartfelt story. And it was a *good* story, simple as it was. And what's more, it added to the original without insult or taking anything away. A great midquel. I love them both. I can't compare them, because while they're focused on the same characters and world, they're completely different stories, focusing on completely different things. And I love them both, equally, for complimenting each other.
That’s how they used to call the years. Instead of nineteen forty two, it was common for people to say nineteen hundred, and forty two. Because if you watched Pawn Stars you’d notice that whenever a 1000+ price came up Rick would say “1500” not “1,500”. It follows the same principle.
Bruh! I actually choked on my tea because I had the phone set down in order to drink something but I had the video playing, and he said that while I was drinking it 🤣😭
Don’t forget that Sir Patrick Stewart himself recently became a toddler when the first Bambi came out and became the voice of the Great Prince many years later when Bambi II entered production!
And they still managed to do the original justice! Unlike a lot of other sequels, this one has the same „vibe“ to it, I love that they kept the character designs and animation style, the story still fits within the original and it doesn’t feel so forced. Also it doesn’t take away from the original but only adds to it. Also I love the character development for the great prince! Bambi was and is one of my favourite childhood movies!

It was the opposite for me, the first movie caught my attention as a kid and I'd repeat several dialogues from the first bambi movie, the second on the other hand didnt feel captivating enough and I can't remember much of anything from it.
@JanezWorld1 nice. i didn't realize how complex the characters were in the second movie until i watched clips a couple of days ago. the father is grieving his mate's death and is learning how to raise a child alone, and Bambi is dealing with trauma from his mother's death and freezes during moments of peril. the father-son relationship is the best part of the second movie. It's so endearing and well-written that it actually amazed me. i really need to watch it again.
@@FlameRaven Ill give it a rewatch then, but I think there was something about an angry... porcupine???, that scared me as a kid...is there really an angry porcupine?
Honestly I like the sequel more. Even though it was 2006, it really has the feel of a disney classic formula. The bonding between Bambi and his father in the sequel is just precious
Did you know that Bambi 2 was given a European theater release. This was due to the original movie having released in 1942 when the world was at war, so European children regardless of nationality were unable to see the movie.
Hell no. Why did you think we waited for this? It suppose to never happen at all! Walt disney did not allow his company to make reproductions. He wanted his movies to be original. Not copied. He would of fired everybody for that! It was that in the 90s that one person decides to use disney's financial assests to make DTV Disney Sequels. He nearly brankrupted the Company by doing this!
I grew up loving to watch Bambi and still do to this day. But I was a teen when Bambi 2 came out and I didn’t watch it for the longest time because I thought it was a kids movie. But when I finally watched it I was pleasantly surprised and now I dare say that Bambi 2 is my favorite between the two films.
I wish they actually still drew like they did back then the sequel was missing the art they were close but the forrest and the deer and all in the first were so beautiful
Fun fact, reason for such is that walt wasnt fan of sequels and never made any, exept for some silly symphony like three little pigs, thats why there are less sequels of old classics, like bambi, cinderella, 101 dalmatian and jungle book
And that why the second one is good too because they took their time sometimes producers create sequels too quickly and then the movie ends up being lame.
