Juneau is the most beautiful city on the planet. I will never leave here. Thank you Mikey for coming to Juneau and sharing my city to the world. I am proud to have been born and raised here.
how long would you recommend a person stay when they visit, to experience all of Juneau? it does look absolutely beautiful out there.
If you've never left Juneau, how do you know that it is the most beautiful city? By the way, Juneau is not a city, but a small town.
"Yeah here you can make your own s'mores over a campfire" I didn't see any s'more, there was no chocolate or graham cracker. The marshmallow wasn't even toasted.
It always makes me giggle when Mikey pronounces cauliflower wrong!!!🤣
Cal-uh flower 😅
I don't think he eats that many vegetables.
Calleyflower 😂
Callah Flowar
He pronounces it the same way I do though. Is that wrong?
King crab in the lobster bisque! What a crabby day! And I just like Mike about the salmon, the fatter the better and tastier.
welcome to my home state, we truly are a food melting pot no rules so enjoy the taste. nothing beats fresh wild caught Alaska seafood!
Sir...that marshmallow was FAR from toasted 😂😂😂
Has the world’s driest piece sockeye and then almost completely writes it off all together 😂😂
I live in Ketchikan and yes, SE Alaska has a huge Filipino population, which translates to really good food! Many families moved here after working in the canneries int he 40s and 50s.
34 dollars for this little plate ? I'm sorry am I gonna be the only one shocked ?
With it containing scallops it doesn't surprise me. Scallops usually have one of the highest markups in restaurants.
That's because there no roads leading here, everything gets here by barge or plane. The cost of living here isn't cheap.
I never realized how short Mike was until the King Crab clip. He’s like Dang it’s Wayne’s height.
The first time we had the Salmon Bake in Juneau,
the salmons were cross-cut with the bones in the middle section.
IMHO... this tastes much better than the boneless 'filet' cut..
The last time, several years ago, we were also served the 'filet' cut.
I'm guessing the change was due to most diners prefer salmon without bones.
We visited Alaska many more times but haven't returned to the Salmon bake.
Bro eats a mountain of nachos and says “ok I gotta go to dinner” 😂🗻
No.1 love the knowledge that a touch of filipino influence has made it to some of the dishes you featured No.2 love seeing you rockin' a Hurley shirt,,,
The aesthetics of the salmon bake are exquisite!! Wholesome and tasty food too!! I'd love to experience that someday 😍
Welcome to Alaska. If you are used to farm raised salmon sockeye wild is quite the experience. This and King are the best, but you’re right, shouldn’t be overcooked
Yay! My hometown🎉
So beautiful!! And food looks delicious!
I want to visit Alaska so bad. Until then though I'm going on a cruise in the Mediterranean this summer. Split in Croatia, the Greek isles including Mykonos, followed by Venice, Ravenna, and Rome.
Let’s get your drinks of choice ready for the “umami” drinking game!!! Large chug/small shot for each time Mike says “umami”!!! First drink comes before 1:00 so grab a few drinks y’all!!!😂😂😂 Edit: Did I miss any because he only said it once.
My favorite foods !!! I love salmon & king crab !!! Thank you for sharing Juneau , Alaska Beautiful ! Safe travels Mikey !
Ohhhhhh loooks so good
Great video nice now im hungry thanks alot!
Miss Juneau, grew up there. Owner of that bbq place is my bestie!
Is it me or does Mike have semi Chunk faces from The Goonies?
Thanks for loving Filipino Food 🥰🥰🥰🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
:56 until the first, "umami"... Mike! You're slipping!
Thanks for coming though to the crab shack it was awesome getting to meet you after watching your vids for years 🤙🏽🙏🏽
Thank you for visiting my home ❤️ I live in Washington now and I always miss it
Looks like such a gorgeous place, it's definitely on my bucket list. Someday I will get there😊
you had me at CRAB!! 😊
Beautiful view😊❤
Wow you are getting huge
He’s not a small guy
I’m jealous Mike, yummy crabs and scallops 🤙😎
Dang just a minute and we get umami. Let the drinking game begin.
Stop watching else u’ll become an alcoholic
What a beautiful plate.
Only 24 hours in Alaska? Geez, I can't imagine going all the way up there just to spend a day. (I know that's kind of a trend on the channel, but still...)
probably a layover. A lot of intercontinental flights pass thru alaska
omg why does he say Kyle Flower instead of cauliflower 😂😂😂
I hope you are spending more time in our state and visiting other places.
I was born and raised in Soldotna. Great food all across Alaska. There was a pizza joint in Soldotna, forget the name but damn..........till this day it is still one of the best pizza joints i have ever had.
How tall were those kids! That blew my mind
I’ve been to Alaska twice and Man…has that glacier receded. I’ve always wanted to try that crab place eventhough I’m not a crab person.
That is the best crab ive ever had. And he isn't joking about that bisque either. Delicious!
Yum
that looks way better than the salmon bake in Fairbanks! Glad to see you in my home state!
We eat there everytime we go to Juneau and we're there about a month ago.
Salmon needs lemon
Much as I like the fattier tunas, if it's going to be grilled or smoked, I'll take sockeye which holds up to that.
Bro dresses up like a kid in middle school on a field trip.
My dad hunted and fished in Alaska every yr, he went to Juno many times
Juneau is the town where I grew up! Looks a bit different now. The glacier is so small.😢 I worked at that tourist trap Salmon Bake place and the Silverbow, which had a bagel shop at the time.
Hi C-Dawg!!!
Wait....lobster bisque? Their menu only states King Crab bisque. Looks like only 3 proteins on their menu. Crab, pork, and shrimp.
$30 for nachos is insane. I don't care what's in it.
Always liked your videos, love them now. Your comments are a great strength. Thank you.
I have lived in Juneau most of my life and have never went to the salmon bake! Thinking of trying it out next time, but I try to avoid all the tourists lol.
I worked there for a summer. It wasn't as good as I was expecting, but maybe it's different now.
This video makes me even more excited to have Tracie’s again when I go to Alaska in October 🤤
I remember when that combo #1 was around $20.
There is some crazy sticker shock on the king crab today
How do u eat that nachos and then dinner?
Wow, what a beautiful place!!! I've been wanting to get out of rut for years, and I enjoy colder weather over hot..this looks like a happy medium to me. I don't mind darkness, I don't mind subzero temps. I hear it's expensive, so maybe a retirement thing? Lol. I wonder how they treat veterans there😊
Sweet rice would mess with my mind
i live in Alaska and Sockeye is my Fav and it's never dry when i cook it mine is usually super fatty and savory only use butter salt and pepper and lemon but not to much
Where is the king crab coming from if the season has been closed for at least two years now?
Probably Japan
A few yards away, in Russian waters?
King crab has always been expensive. But for the average person now it is insane. That is a 125$ meal for each person.
Great video Mike!
Everybody in the comments complaining about the prices… this is just what Alaska is like. Our food is a lot more expensive than yours are unless we catch it or grow it ourselves. These places are charging normal prices for Alaska. Anchorage and Fairbanks are a little cheaper but most of the state just deals with it. These prices are nothing compared to the Bush, too.
Bonza living the dream 😂😂❤❤😂😂❤😂😂😂❤😂😂😂😂😂🎉
6:37 are those guys giants or is Mike just short?
He’s short. Very short.
I just came back from Juneau, the guide said Dungeness crab was the only local crab there. Not king crab, it’s imported
I dunno, that Bear looked pretty big to me, Mike.
Oh my gosh that food looked so delicious that was awesome
My son went on that trip and drank from that waterfall and was sick as hell for the remainder of that trip
Better be eating that salmon skin. My favorite part. As long as it's crispy
IT’S ABOUT TIME YOU CAME TO MY STATE ‼️‼️👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 ENJOY ALL THE SEAFOOD AND GREAT SCENERY ‼️
I wonder who first dipped crab/lobster in melted butter. And when?
Mike….wild salmon will always be very lean. Sushi-grade salmon is almost always farm-raised (which fattens them up and prevents parasites).
❤❤❤❤
Is cauliflower from California called califlower, Mickey?
Alaska, Colorado, and Oregon all look like this. Beautiful.
The food looked amazing. This was a really good episode. 🌻
I think Mikey is afraid to use a knife with his meals
Man, I want to see you and Taku (Outdoor Chef Life) do something together, a collab or something!
The way he says cauliflower makes me giggle... it's kinda cute!
lmao right he said it a hundred times too
It winds me up every time
Got to eat King crab in Ketchikan off a crab boat.
drink everytime he says calah flower
My favorite crab!! Could eat that all day❤❤❤❤❤
hi mike, just want to ask, what's you vlogging setup? 😀
A greasy iPhone
Califlower 😳
Mikey, Change your elevator music.
you say cauliflower funny
I know that I'm very late but, I'll do whatever it takes to get my Hands on that 😊😊
Yummy!?
Thanks for sharing this from 🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭 hope you came back on the Philippines and most of all loving our food
Why can we not have some of these in DFW TEXAS EVERY food truck AND THEY MAMMA OPENS TACO STANDS AND HALF OF THEM ARE SAME EXACT THING
How tf does one make whipped Parmesan?
at 3:01 mins, i agree, i have tried sockeye salman many times and i never liked it ever. and that is so over cooked that its super dry looking.
Alaska is new.
Anyone looking to go to Juneau has to go to Tracy's Crab Shack. The King crab is the easiest crab to eat, and you get a ton of it. Bring your wallet though, it'll run $100 or more
Mikey, Why have you not gone to Juneau's King Crab!?!?!?
MIKE👑
This would be my ultimate meal of a lifetime. I lived on the Maine coast for 3 years a long time ago and ate fresh fish and lobster just caught from the sea 3-4 times a week. Those meals were pure Heaven for me.
Oh yes
Thanks For this mike! Love your content! Keep up the good work ❤❤❤❤
I’m genuinely sad I live in Anchorage instead of Juneau!😫
