Tom Jones did a few concerts with John Farnham from Australia. John’s voice is different but just as powerful and accomplished as Tom’s. They were magnificent together. Like Tom, John is still as incredible now as he was in the 80’s. It is amazing watching those two master voices perform together - particularly My Yiddish Mama. That song still send chills up my spine.
I love your reaction to this! This is why us oldtimers are frustrated with today's pop music. We grew up with music like this. No synthesized music, no computerized beats, no autotune, just raw talent. I'm glad you appreciate talent when you see it.
He sings with the strength of a Thunderball. Now he will take a break and go visit "The green green grass of home" but since Shes A Lady he treated her right. Because Without love" you have nothing at all" Crap Im out of semi_funny stuff
Those Welshmen can sing. It's in the blood. Tom is an absolute, bona fide vocal maestro; I saw him in open-air concert in 2019 and he's still got it. What an extraordinary performer and performance.
From a little town called Pontypridd in Wales. As a Welshman myself from Cardiff(capital City of Wales) we are proud of our Tom, Wales is beautiful country with rolling hills and mountains and I recommend you look it up. A lot of famous actors came from Wales Eg Richard Burton and Catherine Zeta Jones to name two. Really enjoy your reaction and your passion for Instruments x
He came from a tough part of Wales and his father was a coal miner and at 12 years old Tom was diagnosed with tuberculosis. .He did not grow up in any privileged upbringing at all but made up for the bad times as he got older..
Thanks for another great reaction, Rogue!! Who sings like this nowadays??? What a talent!! As always, I just sat here with a huge smile on my face while enjoying your reaction!!!
"In the Day," television studios, networks and programs employed orchestras that were spectacular. This orchestra was employed by The Ed Sullivan Show on CBS.
The band in the back were awesome!!! I loved how they use to show who and what instrument was playing live behind the voice. Unlike today . that trumpet player was great. I really love Tom Jones voice. Nothing like it .. I am so glad you picked him... I can't stop watching this. And you're such a delight.
Artists like him are akin to vintage wine; they don't age, they just mature. Tom Jones at his age right now sounds even more impressive than ever before! Ps, you don't need a link; just type his name on your PC/Laptop.
Tom has a healthy set of lungs. Kudos to Tom and Ed for having a live band instead of a recording. Circus music? It's a flamenco rhythm...and the horn arrangement is Spanish influenced, sort of like music from Carmen.
The welsh crooner Tom Jones had many memorable songs, I saw this on Ed Sullivan. Glad to see he still has it " The Voice" at about 80 yrs old now, beautiful :)
Loved watching your reaction! My mom loved Tom Jones and I recall being very small and watching him on TV, even at a very young age I could see why she was drawn to him. Definitely a star, such a talent. Makes me happy to see younger generations experiencing him and appreciating him!
When this song plays at a local British pub or at a karaoke most will start to drunkenly sing along with the chorus including the horns it's like the best-known drinking song ever and yet so dark.
These days Tom is one of the judges/Team Leaders on the TV show ‘The Voice’ in the U.K. The Voice was also a nickname for Tom years before the show was even thought of.
Rogue I love how you appreciate this man's voice He is dynamic and he still has got it today Is that cold-blooded He busts her and she laughs in his face! This is a calliope of chaos and craziness and a total machination of emotions and destruction and I'm impressed You said the Ed Sullivan Show like you've been watching it all your life!
Tom Jones does have a lovly and uneque voice, his vocls and the way he controls his breathing and hitting those notes is amazing.Growing up in my country Barbados these are the sounds the older folks would play on Sundays every Sunday but not only on Sundays they call them oldy goldy songs and according to the songs some people play you know who's heart were broken, who were happy, who were in love and who were sad.But mostly on Sundays some people will play the happy sweet melodies to keep the day livly and happy especially during lunch time.I really miss those days. Then in the evening some people will come outside sit down chat and even do a dance call the waltz.I know you ask to send but if you go on youtube and type in Oldy Goldys maybe you might run into some that you like or that we miss and play as well.
Tom jones is hard to beat singing he had a voice he still does for 81 years old hes on that show voice i think thats the name of it he sung yesterday he canbstill get up thier hes a dam great great singer
The music itself sets the listener up for something dramatic, with the drums and the horn work. If the strings (violin etc) had given us something smooth and tender we'd expect a romantic love song, but this piece gives us something intense and passionate
True, but additionally this band arrangement is THE ALBUM ARRANGEMENT, ie that made the song a hit. Delilah was his second-biggest hit ever, and it sounds just like THIS. TY
All those brass flourishes makes me think of a hot, fiery Latin setting, a bit like in the song "Copacabana". It's like grand opera - high passions and out of control jealousy and violence. Love the cymbal crash on the word "break" when they're coming to break down the door.
He also sang a song called The green green grass of home and Its not unusual both are great songs love your reactions and the way you really explain before the song 💚🎀
You will probably never see this in another video. Near the end of the song, the band instructor was so into the song that he was literally dancing to the music. AWESOME!!!
I have to say that I am enjoying watching younger people listening to music that I grew up with. I have to admit, I had no idea how dark the lyrics of this song are. I just have memory of riding in the car with my dad and my mom. This song playing on the radio coming over those tinny sounding speakers and my mom, in her sweet voice singing along with the chorus...."My, My, My, Delilah!".... You really hit on something when you noted that the music has a circus or carnival feel to it. ...I can't help but think that was on purpose.....thinking how surreal it is that the man in this song has lost all self-control, given himself over to his darkest emotions and the thoughts that those emotions have brought on. I appreciate your reactions. God richly Bless you.
From day one Tom knew that his voice was the single most important thang. No matter what he got up to he made sure that he protected his voice properly which is why it’s still incredible today.
The music of Sir Tom Janes is what I listened to growing up. And Royce, your reaction to Tom singing "Delilah" is refreshing to see and hear from a young woman of you era, showing appreciation for the era of this man's less vintage days. Thank you Miss Royce.
Love your accent and your beautiful, God bless. Love the way you feel the rhythm and soul of the music from that, had much meaning than today's garbage. Surprise you even watch or listen to legendary Latin musicians, kudos.
Tom Jones and Karen Carpenter are my favorite male and female vocalists. Both unique with different power levels but both with an amazing ability to convey emotion
First…. Not drinking. Funny, Sir Tom Jones sang this at the Diamond Jubilee for Queen Elizabeth II. Interesting to watch the royal family singing along about killing Delilah. LOL
Tom turned 80 not long ago if I remember and one of his best friends came on the Voice as a surprise to wish him Happy Birthday, Stevie Wonder, made him cry.
A couple more Tom Jones hits you should react to is: "I can't stop loving you," and "I, who have nothing." Power and SOUL in his voice and performances.
I came across your channel recently and really enjoy your reactions and you’re doing research on the backstory of the songs. Recently I was listening to Sirius XM 50’s station And heard a song from 1958 Jimmie Rodgers quote kisses sweeter than wine and Honeycomb. I could not find any reactions on RUclips do these songs. hello Rogue Rexyce ... thnks fr ur reacting to this song by Tom Jones . ... at that time I was a teenager ..n.. was studying at high school ... .this song took me way yrs back . .... 💕💕
Delilah wasn’t thinking, she’d probably done it a hundred times before & thought she could get away with it. Tom’s voice is brilliant, I first heard him sing this in 1968 when I was 18 but his debut was 1964, he’s still as good today as he was then, love him & his voice is still as powerful. A voice from the valleys of Wales, my husbands family are from Wales & my mother in law saw him a few times before he was famous. The last time she saw him she said women were throwing their underwear at him, she was scandalised but she said Poor thing it wasn’t his fault & the women should know better, she didn’t know his back story then though 🤣🤣
Yeah; man I tell you, there’s just no one who sings like Tom Jones. I first heard this man when I was a kid back in the early 70’s on a variety show. His voice is so rich and powerful yet he’s able control the peaks and valleys as he change volume. I’ve noticed this about singers and some actors from that country. It’s their voice; Whelch actor Richard Burton had that kind of voice in his pictures. Thanks for your breaking down your take on Tom, you did an outstanding commentary. Peace out
Just Love Tom Jones, Shirley Bassey, Johnny Cash, Jim Reeves, Neil Diamond. There's loads more, too many to list, I love joining in when I'm on a long journey, no-one can hear me as I travel during the night, that's as well, don't want anyone to think I'm hurt! 🤣 I know all the lyrics too ! 🙂 I just turn the radio off at work when they play todays rubbish, now they DO sound like they're hurt 🤣😫. Brilliant video, Love your reaction, especially as you're so young. Go girl! 😍 Liking and Subbing!
For some reason your presence make me subscribe. plus this is one of the songs my father used to play when I was a young boy in east Africa, and I came to the US then I knew who is Tom Jones
As always loved your reaction🎶‼️. Tom Jones is a powerhouse for sure! One of the most fun performances for me was his collaboration with Janis Joplin called Raise Your Hand! It is a live performance and they rock hard with it. And in case you are not familiar with Janis Joplin, you really shouldn't let another day go by before you check out her live performance at the Monterey Pop Festival in 1967 singing Ball and Chain like no one ever heard it before and launched her into the national spotlight! Love your channel ❣️❤️‼️
He's amazing. No autotune, no voiceover, recorded LIVE. Let's see ANY modern "singer" top Tom Jones. THEY CANNOT.
And he can still do it today.
@@coltjames4322 at 80 years old. Proof of a magnificent talent.
Yep just him. Pure talent

No ability for producers to control your future either.
@@yzfool6639 Tom spent the 70s producing Country records that he hated doing, thanks to his manager Gordon Mills’s gambling addiction.
Its Always how you do it... And how you feel it. Auto tune is an Instrument itself...
But i get the Point
most people are frustrated with geopolitically engineered low performance media . Just some of them do not know it.
All of those things are still out there, they just need to be discovered.
Tom Jones doesn't have to stab women. He slays them with his voice😍
Rim shot.
You got that right
Its not unusual" for Tom Jones to sing well haha..
He sings with the strength of a Thunderball. Now he will take a break and go visit "The green green grass of home" but since Shes A Lady he treated her right. Because Without love" you have nothing at all" Crap Im out of semi_funny stuff
OJ Simpson stabs people
Notice that he has the microphone about a foot from his mouth because his voice is so powerful.
He could have been a great opera singer with the right training.
He could be a great one right now.
Those Welshmen can sing. It's in the blood. Tom is an absolute, bona fide vocal maestro; I saw him in open-air concert in 2019 and he's still got it. What an extraordinary performer and performance.
Absolutely. Welsh national opera is the best in the UK
Believe it or not it's still sung today at every sporting event here in Wales and is always sung as a happy tune and warms up the crowd like no other.
Better that than the Taffs burning holiday cottages for fun. Keep singing.
In pubs too! Great sing a long.
Yes fellow Welsh people
oof
That's how a real (and really good) artist sounds like ❤️
Sing your heart out!
There will never be another Tom Jones, simply the best ever ❤️

Five years I spent in Bangor for my post grad studies. Wales will always hold a very special place in my heart and soul.

You’re voice is so smooth and so is Tom jones
The music symbolizes the mental state of the man in the story. Manic and out of control with rage.
The band in the back were awesome!!! I loved how they use to show who and what instrument was playing live behind the voice. Unlike today . that trumpet player was great.
I really love Tom Jones voice. Nothing like it .. I am so glad you picked him... I can't stop watching this.
