Love you guys! Just bought a mill city 2kg. Used off coffee tech because that’s all I can afford for now. But with you’re guys help. Hopefully one day in the future I’ll be upgrading to a much larger capacity mill city. Thanks again for making these educational videos

In some coffee forums, they talk about reaching first crack at 4 minutes. Is that too quick? In the video you speak about a later time??

Late reply, sorry. First, you need to know what roasting machine they are using and how many they are roasting.
In my normal circumstance : using drum roaster and roasting 1-2 kg, I think it’s way too fast. To get to first crack in 4 minutes they need to push a very high amount of heat into the beans in a very short amount of time, chances are the heat itself is going to be too much it’s gonna burn the beans.
Perhaps they meant to finish drying phase at 4 minutes, which is again IMO just a little too fast but more feasible.
For other circumstances where they’re using sample or experimental roasting machines, I don’t have knowledge about it, sorry...

Are there any roasting machines that don't use a rotating drum?
