Quick tip to getting rid of bugs in a van. At night take off the screen to your ceiling fan, turn it on to venting out, turn all your lights off, turn your phone's flashlight on and shine it at the fan. The bugs will fly towards the light and get sucked out by the fan, give that a few minutes and you'll have no more bugs! just remember to put the screen back on.

Welcome to PEI, was nice meeting the Fab Four of vanlife 😉 yesterday. Hope you found an Islander mechanic to help you out so you can enjoy your time here. ✌🏻❤️🇨🇦
I’m a nurse Chrome and I’m telling you that the beeping would make me even more crazy then I already am!!! We hear hundred of alarms I a day at work . Now I can’t even stand my microwave beep Lolol so I fell ya bro
I work on an ortho unit…..the call light bells are all I hear because our postops have to call don’t fall. Everyone needs to go to the bathroom at the same time!
Action packed video Chrome. Poor Cruzie and the mosquitoes… Loved how you brushed them of him. Real love for Cruzie. Hope you get your van fixed soon. 🦮🥰🇬🇧🥰🦮
Chrome...the next time your van is running and you park somewhere....leave it running, open the door, get out of the van, reach in and turn off the key. Stay outside the van. Wait a minute then restart the van. See if that resets it. If that doesn't work, disconnect the wires to the seat belt or ground them together to fool the van in to thinking the circuit is complete and see if that turns the seat belt alarm off.
Hang in there Chrome. Enjoy PEI inspite of all the challenges. Of course it's nerve wracking. I loved the lighthouse. If I were going to live on the ocean, I'd want to live in a lighthouse. Things will get better.
hey Chrome, I got the same van with the same problem. This worked for me. Step 1 Put the Econoline van in "Park," turn the engine off, set the parking brake, and ensure all of the van's doors are closed and the headlights are off. Leave the key in the ignition in the "Off" position. Step 2 Disconnect the driver's side seat belt. Turn the key to "On." Don't crank the Econoline's engine. Step 3 Monitor the instrument cluster. Wait about one minute until the seat belt light disappears. Step 4 Connect and then disconnect the seat belt three times, ending with it disconnected. Monitor the instrument panel again. Wait a few seconds for the seat belt light to turn off. Connect then disconnect the seat belt once again. The light will now turn off. The seat belt chime is disabled.
As you have the same van, do you know if it has an OBD2 port? first thing I do on the works van is to shut that up. Thinking again, It's like old school engineer mode what you are doing. 👍
Giving them a short soak in some water with vinegar, as soon as you get them, then air drying them, also makes them last much longer. Works with many kinds of fruits and vegetables.
If you crank your vent fan up to full it’ll suck most of those pesky mosquitoes up into the vent screen and dehydrate them to death in a short time. Works for me Cheers
ISS Automotive will send a new dash cluster. I had the same problem and they were great. Any mechanic can install (no dealer labour prices), or you can install it yourself. Super easy!
Chrome, ...dude. All ypu need to do is stick ypur head up under the dash and follow the chime sound. It should be a small round or square shaped flasher with a speaker grill on one side, it just unpluggs like a fuse? Unplug it, no more chime, ever. I hope you see this bro? I dig your channel. I think Emy is perfect for ya.
I lived in the country for 20 years. We learned the buggers really only come out at dawn and dusk. Thats why you can be out after dark around a bonfire with no buggers.
I smelled gas fumes in a car I had years ago. I didn’t think it was a big deal until the car caught on fire. Turns out there was a leak in the gas line. Hope you are able to locate the leak and avoid any damage.
Yes you place concrete underwater. They take a long tube called a Caisson and a Trim-me that extends to the bottom and pour concrete down the trim-me and force the water out the top of the caisson.
On Amazon there is a usb powered light with fan that harmlessly attracts mosquitoes and sucked them in to the cup below we have used them in our tiny trailer and found it very effective the light is purple they look a little like a micro dyson fan , hope you have a blessed day 😊
Oh my goodness. CHROME!! I am from the Southern US. Georgia actually. Our lives are trying NOT to get red clay dirt on us. I am laughing SO HARD. I never ever in my whole life have heard anybody say they can't wait to get red dirt on their car........lolololololol
FYI...I have an Iceco fridge also. It works more efficiently and draws less power if you use the insulating jacket they gave you. It's still quick and easy to get inside the fridge, you simply unzip the top and open the lid. I highly recommend using the insulating jacket they gave you. It will save you on how much power it will use.
If you really like red dirt and you end up in the US come to Oklahoma. Years ago I did some cross country motorcycle racing. The red mud stained my bike and riding gear forever. Hope you peg out your fun-O- meter every day. Safe travels.
Chrome come down to Georgia in the winter time! I guarantee you'll get plenty red dirt road mud on your van! Yup it's cold N rainy kinda like B.C. but we get more sunshine and warmer than B.C. most days. Safe travels and Happy puppy tails
Hey chrome prince Edward Island is definitely beautiful I hope you get that figured out about the gas smell and then it’s nothing major and you can get it fixed quickly you guys always make my day have fun and be safe 🇺🇸♥️🤙✌️☮️🌍🐾🚐🇨🇦
Please get on that gas leak ASAP. I just watched someone's van burn on the bridge across from my apartment. Driver got out, it went up fast and strong, it was super scary.
Lol when you said red dirt, that maybe y'all dropped into the lower 48. Hehehehe. In a home grown Calif gal. Only dirt I got visit is the desert palm springs in the calif. Winter
Great Video, I had your gas problem. Turned out to be a cracked housing for the gas pump that goes into the gas tank. You would never find it unless the Van was lifted. Hope it's something minor. Mechanical problems part of owning a vehicle and it always sucks. Keep your chin up and enjoy the journey.
Shame, it seems like a thing that everyone is having problems with their van's. I see Brent's lovely little bus has also broken down and he may need a whole new engine. Poor man and his dog are having to stay with friends now.
Oh Chrome So Sorry Your Still Having Van Issues Crossing My Fingers You Get It Fixed What A Amazing Sunset And Editing Even If You Were Not Feeling It ❤❤💚💚 (Screen If You Have One Or If They Make It Might Help When You Open Your Doors For Mosquitos )
Hi. If you look at the dashboard you'll be able to see where the little speaker is that makes the annoying noise. It should be possible to reach behind it and pop off the wires to disable it.
I am not at all suggesting that you do this, but I’m curious to know whether or not you could buy the same van and swap all of your build and updates over to a new one. I wish you the best!
So cool , I’ve been watching you both for a long while now! So awesome to see you visit our beautiful Prince Edward Island!! Wish I had of ran into you somewhere, oh well maybe next time!!
Get out there and stay safe Of course the sunrise is beautiful but with mosquitoes 🦟 are not being nice Poor cruzie .. forget starlink for now Move away Stay safe
Hey Crome , do you know that YOU can STOP THAT DINGING from the dash . Just reach up under the dash and feel for the buzzer that is dinging, and pull the dinger out of the harnnes . Problem solved no trip to service and your door dinger will not bother you either. CHEERS AND SAFE TRAVELS Steve h.
If you are supposed to get back to BC by Nov you better get on the road guys because that is only about 12 weeks away. According to the plans you have mentioned you still need to get back to Quebec meet Emi's parents, get back to Ontario to see Ray Outfitted, and get to where Jeffie lives to visit him. I imagine you might spend a week at each of those 3 places. So that leaves you 9 weeks to take your time visiting other places on your way all the way back to BC. You better get on the ball!!
There was only a ferry to get there before. I saw a video about the construction once a while back. If you ever get down to the Chesapeake bay area take the Bay bridge and tunnel route. It's amazing.!
I know how you feel been working on a car for almost a full year now seems, when it's ready to roll something else comes up I took it in, and everything got to the point I don't care anymore buying a new car.
Try to look in the manual. It should be like a secret Nintendo code that you do to deactivate the chime. Something like turn the key halfway and buckle and unbuckle the seatbelt ten times lol Worth a try, it worked for my 2005 ford econoline. I’ve heard of the gas smell happen but I’m not a mechanic, just like to look up stuff about this van. I’m sure it’s a small problem
Those mosquitoes like you & Cruzie because you’re both so sweet! Someday I’ll get a thermacell. Oddly enough, peppermint foot lotion from The Body Shop works for me. Totally enjoying all your videos!!❤️❤️
I keep a spray can of fly killer in my van , a quick short spray once the door is closed soon kills all the flying biting bugs , I also have a hang up 3 month life Mosquito Killer, they work for me , but maybe I am slowly killing myself with it as well as the bugs lol
The bridge in Rio de Janeiro has 13km! But I think it's not all 13 over the Guanabara Bay as it continues as a highway. Still is huge bridge, about 14 min drive if no traffic.
Don't use metal in your pan, once it's scratched the bad chemical starts to release and once that gets into your system you can never get rid of it, it stays in your body forever
Your driving me insane, lol ! Hey under that dash and pull that tone box out. It should just be a plug you pull out. Little rectangle box you pull out. Just follow the noise all the way to the tone plug then pull it!!

Thank you healthcare providers

Live and learn Chrome!
When the bridge opened my mom was one of the first to walk over.
Get some stuff called NATURAL CARE Flea & Tick spray from Walmart in Pets. It helps with all kinds of bugs

Wow
Just a FYI Strawberries last longer in a mason jar and kept in the fridge. Actually all berries do. Learned that this year.

Thanks!

What model do you have
I don't know the model number. It's a fridge on one side and freezer on the other. I'm very happy with it.
That's the reality of having a traditional house too, things are going to break. Don't worry you'll get everything fixed up👍
That dinging is driving us all crazy! Hope you can get it fixed soon. It must be awful for you!
Chrome you’re one cool dude I don’t think you’d ever live in Texas mosquitoes are the size of birds I love you videos you guys hang in there
Maybe put some soft throw rugs over the fatigue mats until you get something better?
Chrome’s a Canadian Hillbilly 🤠 driving with the door open with a leaf blower trying to get the mosquitoes out of the van 😂
Hilarious!!!!
Great video. So sorry you are having problems with your van, I hope someone can help you. Xx

Chrome, Might want to be careful with metal utensils in your new salad bowl they will scratch the lining and make it no longer non-stick
I was thinking the same thing. Needs to use plastic utensils if planning to eat off of non- stick pan.
If you want to eliminate that annoying dinging noise,
The censor is either located on your fuse panel for the van or under dash!
Unplug it!
Solved!
Lol when you said red dirt, that maybe y'all dropped into the lower 48. Hehehehe. In a home grown Calif gal. Only dirt I got visit is the desert palm springs in the calif. Winter

Wow love the sunset. Wishing you safe travels Chrome and Cruz. Praying everything works out and you can get some things fixed in your van dear.
Smelling gas is definitely yikes! Hope you find a place to get it looked at right away. Maybe they could save your sanity from your dash cluster.
Many people have already mentioned it, when it’s beeping search under the dash for the speaker and either disconnect or cut it…
Chrome ,look on RUclips to see how to unplug the door/light chime ,it's SUPER EASY!!!!
Shame, it seems like a thing that everyone is having problems with their van's. I see Brent's lovely little bus has also broken down and he may need a whole new engine. Poor man and his dog are having to stay with friends now.
Yep so glad he has a friend there
I am sorry for Brent. It is awful to need a new engine and your vehicle is your home.🙁
Brent is also in pei
Hope you get your van sorted soon. That's very scary, Chrome. Hopefully you can get it sorted soon. 👍
Try a restaurant supply I think they use big mats in their kitchens
Welcome to the east coast . If they are swarming and not biting . They are blind mosquitos. They are close to the water
Beautiful hope everything gets fixed sending our love
Oh Chrome So Sorry Your Still Having Van Issues Crossing My Fingers You Get It Fixed What A Amazing Sunset And Editing Even If You Were Not Feeling It ❤❤💚💚 (Screen If You Have One Or If They Make It Might Help When You Open Your Doors For Mosquitos )
Clove keeps away mosquitoes 🦟🦟🦟🦟🦟😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫
Grab yourself some of those bug screens for door frames and use them for your van doors when your in the swamp again ✌️
Hi. If you look at the dashboard you'll be able to see where the little speaker is that makes the annoying noise. It should be possible to reach behind it and pop off the wires to disable it.
U need to get skin so soft from Avon. It works wonders for mosquitoes
I wonder if a horse mat from a tractor-supply-type place would be cushioning-enough without being too hard. They're really durable.
PEI looks awesome. I have two friends going there in September.
Cruz is such a character.
Hope everything in the van can be easily repaired.
I am not at all suggesting that you do this, but I’m curious to know whether or not you could buy the same van and swap all of your build and updates over to a new one.
I wish you the best!
When you finally visit east coast USA remember to find the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and Tunnel in Virginia...that is all! 🥰
Lovely Prince Edward Island enjoy your stay to the fabulous four, Chrome,Emi,Kelly and Cruzie...bless to all 😀😃🙂
I have a little roll of green tea oil that I take everywhere with me its great against mosquitoes and to help with mosquitoes bits.
So cool , I’ve been watching you both for a long while now! So awesome to see you visit our beautiful Prince Edward Island!! Wish I had of ran into you somewhere, oh well maybe next time!!
Get out there and stay safe
Of course the sunrise is beautiful but with mosquitoes 🦟 are not being nice
Poor cruzie .. forget starlink for now
Move away
Stay safe
Since you're going to replace it anyway, if you cut the wires going to the seatbelt buckle the beeping should stop.
I hope you got to enjoy a little bit of the Island, Chrome. All the best with the van.
Has you thought about taken your fuse out and then putting them back in that might reprogram everything
Pull de dash screws & unplug the buzzer/ bell / alarm, wich eva
Cruz needs water in his bowl, it's always empty.

Say some prayers. I can only imagine that dinging is also causing Cruz some hardship. Hopefully it will get resolved soon. Best of luck.
Both fans on pumping air in making positive air pressure. Won't stop them all but will stop a lot of mosquitos.
Well, it has not hurt the quality of your videos! Thanks 🙏✌️🥰
If you love red dirt so much then come to Australia 🇦🇺 we have a continent covered in the stuff 😉
I know how you feel been working on a car for almost a full year now seems, when it's ready to roll something else comes up I took it in, and everything got to the point I don't care anymore buying a new car.
And PEI they grow nice sunflowers 🌻
Beautiful just like a rainbow
PEI is beautiful! Sorry you’re having a rough time with the van .
You can just remove the "chime"....it's like the little speaker thing that makes the dinging noise. Or get a whole new cluster....
Get a bath mat with a rubber back and put it over those rubber mats so the dogs nails don't dig into the rubber.
Canada looks awesome I love how your digital media goes in depth it would be nice to visit but not in the winter
Unplugg the dinger..reach under by staring column
find the plug next to the seat underneath the seat
In PEI they don't have billboards, is that correct? I have an battery operated tennis racket zapper for bugs ,it works and it's fun.
Bugs! Yep, that's why I'm not moving back! Viva La Van. Isl.!!!!
Hang in there. Old vans are that way.
Try to look in the manual. It should be like a secret Nintendo code that you do to deactivate the chime. Something like turn the key halfway and buckle and unbuckle the seatbelt ten times lol

I’ll have to try that!
They like beer drinkers 😉
Also, parking away from the water might help. :)
Lots of herbs 🌿 help catnip, mint, etc
Mechanical issues are the pits! PI looks awesome, thus far. Stay safe. 🕊
Has anyone ever been on the Chesapeak Bay Bridge Tunnel? The thing goes over and under the ocean for like 19 miles. Great video bud
Welcome to PEI! If you head down east to Montague, PEI, let me know. Would love to say hi! Lots of great eats and sights here in Montague!
I wanted him to talk about Annie with an E green ables
We love those salad kits. My favorite is the steak house wedge mix
I keep a spray can of fly killer in my van , a quick short spray once the door is closed soon kills all the flying biting bugs , I also have a hang up 3 month life Mosquito Killer, they work for me , but maybe I am slowly killing myself with it as well as the bugs lol

Boy that dinging sound would drive me to drink ! Keep safe & get some repellent!
Your driving me insane, lol ! Hey under that dash and pull that tone box out. It should just be a plug you pull out. Little rectangle box you pull out. Just follow the noise all the way to the tone plug then pull it!!
Chrome, cut the wires off your broken seat belt latch and twitch them together. It's just a simple switch inside.
Sending Aloha 😎🤙🏝⛵️🐬
P.E.I is an amazing island; tomorrow will be a better day. Chin up
Beautiful pics, see you on the next one.
