I'm stoked for the new Zelda. I understand some people may be apprehensive about the combat, but I really don't see a world where Nintendo just swaps the characters around. They're obviously going to try something different, and I think it looks fun. We'll see!
Agreed! If we’re gonna play as a different character, I think it would be a bit silly to have it play exactly the same. Making it more puzzle-focused is a cool direction!
Yeah unfortunately Zelda fanbase is one of the worst fanbase ever. Nintendo is pushing boundaries in terms of what you can do in video games, and putting game mechanics and innovations 10 year ahead of its time, but all core Zelda fans want ocarina of time with better graphics.
Yeah, I can't be disappointed by what they showed for Echos of Wisdom. Zelda has possessed the Triforce of Wisdom in previous games. It makes sense that she's not going to be all about direct combat. Relying on her/the player's brainpower makes plenty of sense, and it appears there will still be combat... just not in the same way as when you're Link. I commend Nintendo for taking a game in a new direction and being true to the character. Simply replacing Link with Zelda, but having her do the exact same things wouldn't be true to the character nor would it be fun for the audience beyond the initial novelty. I'm hoping she/we get to play an instrument as her; perhaps the OOT or Sheik's harp.
It looks fun. Frankly it s got a nod to building syst from totk. Cause frankly it was more a wisdom thing. The art choice is great. They want to go slowly to see how people would react. It s also that people were expecting zelda to be playable in totk.

No. This series works solely as a single player story game where you control both Mario & Luigi. Having co-op would change the experience and make it easier.
Direct full of impossible announcements: MVC collection after that series has been in legal limbo, Miles Edgeworth Investigations 2 finally getting localized, online 4 Swords, Fantasian getting freed from Apple Arcade, and especially a new mainline Zelda game with Zelda as the protagonist. That's nothing compared to Max's reaction. The poor guy couldn't focus on the rest of the direct after that but continue talking about MvC collection even during the Zelda EoW reveal LOL.
The popoff for MvC was so good
22:03 Denpamen was a weird series on the 3DS eShop where the gimmick was that you take your 3DS to different places then use the camera to look for and capture the characters that you use in your party in the RPG. The game would use nearby WiFi networks your 3DS could see (you didn’t have to connect to them) to generate what elements and abilities the Denpamen had.
Dunno how this Switch version works and if you still need to take your Switch around so it can detect different WiFi networks though, or if they just take that part out.
Seeing “New Metroid and Zelda” gave me whiplash
This was a 10/10 presentation for me, having a PS5 and Steamdeck usually means I barely touch my switch but this makes me hyped to pick it up!

The new Zelda definitely has bloodlust. The first bit of combat they showed us was her beating a Moblin to death with a rock lol

I’m actually very excited for the Lego Horizon game, and love the “everything is Lego” art style. So if nobody wants that code when it shows up me and the kids would be happy to do some play testing for y’all 😂.
They don't tell us who's developing their games because they find that it distracts from the game itself.
Kit and Krysta covered this, and Nintendo's mentality is basically, "Why do you need to know now? You're going to find out when you play the game and read the credits."

Dragon Quest 3 is one of my favorite games. And it holds up very well. So this will be perfect
Fantastic Direct. Metroid Prime 4 finally being shown would have been enough for me, but the new Mario & Luigi, and Zelda game also have me really excited. It's also great that Ace Attorney Investigations 2 is finally getting localized. Dragon Quest HD-2D trilogy and Mio also look really cool. It's been a long time since I've been this happy with a Nintendo Direct.

@19:21 After the Game Boy Color ports of the first three Dragon Quest games, they came out on mobile devices many years later. The mobile ports were also released on Switch.

@@thatoneguy1821It's not about gender norms. Link just happens to be the fighting character. Because if Zelda fights, then what is the point of Link? Nintendo already mentioned this before in an interview. That's why Zelda can never have bloodlust, yes it's too much to ask. There's hundreds of bloodlusted female characters in other games, play them.
Metroid Prime 4 looks so disappointing to me. When I saw Prime Remaster I thought "wow if they are making prime remaster this good, I cannot imagine how prime 4 will be". Looks like it is same. Space pirate animations looks same. Shooting also seems same. This game should've come 4 years ago really. For now I won't think about this game and hope a better version when next system arrive.
