Hi Matt, I don’t think the EPL10 will accept an electronic view finder. I think a better option is the EPL8 which does take an EVF and also has a wider number of features through the menu system. It’s only drawback is the lack of built in flash. I pair my epl8 with the 20 mm lumix f1.7.
I’m really impressed with the handheld video stabilization, for the E-PL10. It is super, especially considering it was introduced in 2018! Still, the rolling shutter and other wobbles in the frame, (rolling shutter), ate pretty hard to ignore. What is the stabilization like on this one in comparison to the EP-7? Better, worse or just about the same? How many stops of stabilization is the camera rated for vs EP-7? I am seeing it is significantly cheaper used, ($400), than an analogous EP-7 (~$750.), so I’m wondering what other drawbacks this one has vs the EP-7.
I never concern myself over the stabilization aspects of a camera, it is always just a bonus if I find it stabilizes well. I look for ergonomics, function, photo quality first. I have never used the ep-7 so I cannot really compare, but I do see that the E-PL10 has 3.5 stops of stabilization where the EP-7 has 4.5. The E-P7 is a newer camera with newer sensor, higher megapixel, etc.. Olympus is confusing (for me) with their naming conventions. Hope this helps! Thanks for commenting
It's a great little camera! I put a strong infrared filter on the 17mm lens (850nm) and it produced spectacular B&W images. I really like the panorama feature as well. Get a hot-shoe adapter to mount the camera upside down on a tripod in order to not block the LCD. I'm also using 2 Pentax 110 lenses and a couple of "C" mount video lenses (dirt-cheap).
I need to try the panorama mode more. I used it in low light once and it did not turn out good (to be expected) and just forgot to try it again. But thanks for the reminder
@@MattRyanPhoto55 Olympus are a bit hopeless with panorama, you want a Panasonic G7 or later for that, just shoot whilst turning. But I prefer my E-PL7 to the G7 as carry.
My main digital is an X-T5 that has a pretty good pano mode. But if I were doing actual panos I would use my nodal ninja pano head and then stitch. It's what I used for doing 360 degree panos for real estate tours.
Yeah the IBIS is crazy. This camera goes everywhere with me, I use it for everything, one of the best digital camera purchases I have made, short of my X-T5
It's great that you recommend M4/3, but it's causing prices to rise. Keep it on the down low unless you have one to sale. Seems like everyone is on the small camera ride.
Lol yeah. Good for me though as my Fuji X10 is selling more than what I paid for it new 10 years ago. Hahaha. People are going back to small camera and going back to artistic photography rather than sheer technical capability.
Not really. I only have a 14 pro. But what I can say is that both do great, the Olympus has access to hundreds of lenses so depth of field is real versus ai etc.. both have merits, and both are great. For me personally I prefer an actual camera dslr/mirrorless for video, but I do also use my iPhone quite often, for ease of use, lightweight etc..
@@TheDelightJones DJI wireless mics, R0DE Wireless, Neewer makes a set for a good price. Just make sure anything you get has internal recording otherwise you will need to connect the receiver to either a phone, or an audio recorder. If you have later model iPhone they have really good internal mics that can work in a pinch. Not sure about other phones though. Quick google search can yield some good results on what to buy and how to use them.
Hi, you probably won't answer this, but how is this camera for taking pictures of moving subjects? I have a tiny human that I plan on taking loads of pictures of. Thanks!
Why wouldn’t I answer?!? lol. It will do just fine. All based on the amount of light and shutter speed. If indoors you might have to use the flash. It’s a great camera, takes wonderful photos and is a perfect size.
Hi, what settings do you use for your Olympus pen camera when taking photos and them not turn out blurry? because mine always does. Please and thank you
I run multiple settings, aperture priority, manual, even auto at times. Your camera shouldn’t take blurry shots unless 1. Your in manual mode and have the wrong settings for the scene(motion blur) to slow a shutter, etc. 2. Something is wrong with your lens. Or 3. Something is wrong with your camera. If it is not user error then I would suggest trying a different lens and see if that helps. If it doesn’t you might want to bring your camera in to a local camera store and see if they give you any suggestions on why it is shooting blurry. Hope this explanation helps.
Another thought I had is to do a full reset (located in the menu) on the camera and put it in full auto mode (green camera icon says "AUTO") and see if that changes anything.
Hmm... E-PL9 and E-PL10 plastic bodies and no viewfinder accessory, dumbed down from E-PL7 and E-PL8, which have metal bodies and AP2 for accessories. Sad really because the Pen-Lite are top sellers in Japan.
No added grain, I did edit these some, just mostly warmed them up a little and brought up shadows a little. I try to edit as little as possible.
