Harry Belafonte is great. This song and the whole album that it came from are all fantastic. One of the greatest albums ever made.

Complaint about number of illegitimate babies fathered by irresponsible American sailors in Jamaica.

Cruise ship calypso. Irresponsible GI's fathering illegitimate babies in the Caribbean in general and Trinidad in particular. Memories of my little sisters in the early 1980z who sang along to this tune when I played this vintage record on the turn-table!

This song came out a long time before Beyonce was an itch in her father's pants.
