Excellent job. These complex (Rutger) Bass lines turned ABBA's brilliant compositions into masterpieces. You can actually feel her heart beating as she is walking through that empty house, with tears in her eyes. - Very Emotional. ALL of ABBA's songs had beautiful and complex bass lines, including their new ones, which were emulated by Benny. Rutger would be proud of you. Thanks from Australia.
I didn’t expect it that it would be this complex. I heard this song a thousand times but never realised how amazingly irregular the baseline was. Bravo
Certainly Gunnarson was thinking completely out of the box when He came up with that bassline. Love the breathing room it gives, and it's full of unexpectancy.
Fantastic job. Rutger Gunarrsson was such an accomplished bass player who really put such a backbone groove in the Abba material. I’m a guitarist but I really enjoyed watching you play this. Thanks!
I was never into ABBA until I found this transcription, which led me to play your other transcriptions. Thank you, and I see why you love ABBA so much. Such a powerhouse talent, and Rutger Gunnarson laid down some amazing bass lines for others to enjoy and play.
Yes, that is the reason for my channel name. But I found out later in the 2003 Fender catalogue (this bass is a 2002 American Jazz) that it is "Sky Blue"😂 And the colour seems to have gradually changed with age.
When you notate the X but as a pitch, how do you play that? Is it a slap on the string instead of a proper pluck? You can kind of hear the pitch of the note where the X is but it's not as clear.
Thank you for listening in detail. Actually, I meant X is always a dead note with no pitch. But I noticed that a pitch is faintly heard at some of the Xs because I accidentally pressed the string a bit too hard :-) You can assume that X is a dead note with no pitch.
ABBA wouldn’t have been ABBA without Rutger’s outstanding mastery of the bass !! The bass line totally makes this song!
Excellent job.

Thanks so much, Furry Koala
Could not agree more!
Who'd have thought the bassline on that was so mad? Love it. Thanks. 😀
Thank you for watching! I had not thought it was that mad before I transcribed it 😀

Abba's bass lines are brilliantly constructed

Brilliant. The bass line, and your performance of it.
Oh my god, I hadn't heard the intense bassline until now. Shame on me. I'm amazed. Great jam!! 🗽
This was far more intricate than I thought and also beautiful!

I like the color of your bass. Do you know what it's called? Sonic Blue?
Yes, that is the reason for my channel name. But I found out later in the 2003 Fender catalogue (this bass is a 2002 American Jazz) that it is "Sky Blue"😂 And the colour seems to have gradually changed with age.
It's a beauty! Thanks!
You are genius.
I think ABBA and the backing musicians are genius 😊 Thank you for watching.

That's so much fun to play 😊🙃. Is ist possible to get the tabs/notation so that I don't have to start youtube all the time to practise?😉🙈
Glad to hear that you enjoyed it😊 Regarding tabs/notation, sorry but I'm not sharing it.
Какая сложная партия! Браво!!
Thank you!!
Maestro
Thank you!

Thank you 😀👍
BRAVO
Thank you!
I think Bjorn watched this video and he likes it.
♥️♥️♥️
Thank you!
Funny. The name of your channel is "Sonic Blue Bass". Forgive the stupid question. But at least I can take solace in guessing correctly. 😂
👏👏👏👏👏🥰🥰😄👏👏
Thank you!
When I hear Rutger's bassline it sounds smoother and less staccato than the way you've transcribed it. You've taken the heartbeat out of it.
Thanks for the comment. Smoothness is indeed one of the important elements. I will look at that as well.
Well, we’re not watching Rutger so we can’t expect to hear exactly what he played on the album.
Great cover nonetheless✌🏼
Facin, Facin.
Só que não!
Depois disso desisto do baixo .Não quero passar vergonha.
