I feel this is the right solution - wouldnt want to see any of these beautiful horses destroyed because they bit someone and hate to see someone injured accidentally.
Being a Canadian you would think she could read English when above her head clearly states these horses can BITE . People who put their children in danger are accountable. The horses are NOT a petting zoo.!
Think the reason you have such a great audience is because even through the camera, your genuine concern and respect for the horses, guards, and the people are always shining through. Today is no exception. Why so many of us flock to your channel.
@maryelyse5633 Yup. .we had horses growing up, and I've seen a lot, including when a donkey but a guys finger off clear down to the first knuckle. And trained or not, I don't get near a horses rear. The length and speed of those rear legs is nothing short of a combination of Flash and Mr. Stretch superpowers.
But it’s her fault and not the horse or rider. There is a sign giving warning . I would add to the sign if you disobey and you get hurt. We are not responsible. It’s your fault. You have been warned
She should have kept away from the horses mouth. Stood next to sign for crying out loud, can't she read? Said she has experience with horses, her own maybe, but these ARE'NT her horses, they are military, highly trained war horses. Not there to be Petted they are there to protect their Guard and the BRF when visiting. Why do these people think they are exempt? Have zero sympathy for any self entitled tourists who think they are experts.
@@trevorg2128 What are you, a horse whisperer? Being around horses and my own most of my life, I personally would not have my fingers or hands anywhere near a strange horses mouth. Also head nodding and ears back is a dead giveaway to a horse that wants to be left alone.
This is a form of animal abuse. Making a beautiful animal stand there for two hours while stupid humans get photos. Where is the RSPCA !!! Stop abusing animals for food and entertainment.
I agree about poor horse. People should leave the horses alone. How would they like to be touched all the time, stroked and payed and proded. His skin must be sore.

John, in answer to your question about a horse's mouth strengthen - The jaw strength (masseter muscle) of a horse is about 500 psi (pounds per square inch) Humans are usually less than 200 psi, while a Pit Bull measures 235 psi (#3 dog breed in jaw strength) Because of the great deal of force exerted by an equine in closing its jaws, the severity of injuries may range from mild superficial pressure trauma, cutaneous breaks of the skin, deep lacerations with loss of tissue, and injuries to blood vessels and nerves, to amputations of digits and fractures. If you are bitten and it breaks the skin, clean the site thoroughly with soap and water, before covering with a sterile dressing. If the bite is over a joint, hand, foot, or a prosthetic device, a doctor should be considered immediately because antibiotics are most likely indicated to ward off an infection. You did the right thing in getting her to be checked out by the MOD police! If a horse is pinning his ears at you it's because you haven't earned his respect and trust. The gentle, yet determined nudge, or shove, of a horse's nose can mean a greeting, denote a desire, or convey an intent. We can attribute human phrases like “Hey, who are you”, “Do you have something for me”, “What's this?” or even the more cheeky “Move along” to the nudging of a horse's nose. hope this information helps a bit - The horse guards are NOT an amusement park or petting zoo - I really thought a child would get hurt this past weekend with the rate of 'child danger' incidents filmed by you and a couple other youtubers - maybe the MOD should take a more active role in advising tourists of certain potential dangers or the guard being able to warn tourists/parents to stay back, not crowd his/her horse when it's not in the best of moods -
Totally Agree. They should Stop using Horse's. The Horse's must get so sick of being touched and also having to stand there for long periods with a rider on its back. Its well known that this is not good for the Horse's back. Plus the Horse's get bord and frustrated which can lead to bitting.
@@miriamlefel5591 These horses stand guard for a maximum of 1 hour out of 24, And then usually this is only for one day out of three! While these Are working animals, it is not too stressful of a job for them to do one hour out of a 24 hour period.
Years ago my horse bit me. I think he was as shocked as much as I was. I didn't have any skin broken but was deeply bruised. The pain was like closing a heavy car door on your fingers. Any animal can be unpredictable.
I am so very happy that you dispense common knowledge to morons. If they do not have enough sense to respect another living being, let them reap the consequences. Cleaning an injury is #1 on the list. But come on, we are not dealing with people who deal with a full deck😅

Time to stop this spectacle. Those poor horses are obviously not comfortable with all the crowds and people pawing them. This is not what they meant for.
Nobody's blaming the horse. If the Brits didn't want people hanging around the horse, they'd put a fence around the horse and not allow people to get so close.

I'm from the United States and it doesn't matter worldwide regarding horses, but I have a fearful respect at all times of any and all horses. We had horses and even the most gentle horse and experienced horse person knows anything can happen at any time. This comment comes even after the accident of Princess Anne, and she is very experienced with horses as the world knows. This is my favorite RUclips channel @LondonCityWalks. I've learned so much about the horses, the guards of all of London, and the behaviors of all people from all walks of life. Greatest respect.
Great admiration to you John. Your concern went a long way toward their staying calm. They will remember your kindness longer than they will remember the bite.
After viewing your numerous videos of tourists standing extremely close to these horses, let-alone stroking, scratching, and patting them; for the life of me, I do not understand why those not connected with The Guards are EVER allowed to do this!! I was raised with horses. Horses are capable of killing one with their teeth and both front and back hooves. Would it ruin the tourist experience to be kept several feet away from horse and mount at all times while still being allowed to take photos and videos? I think not!
Good morning John. Wanted to tell you I was on Pinterest last night and found a wonderful picture of the black horse Invader. It was newspaper article in London. He was one of 2 horses chosen to walk behind the Queens coffin with the royals following. He at that time was 19 years old it said he was the fastest horse in the company and never put a hoof wrong. Love the picture of him with his white eyebrows. I saved the picture.
the warning signs are posted there - the tour guides should also adequately warn folks - there are always those who believe they are a ''horse whisperer' or laugh although they can't read the military horse's 'danger' signs - glad you helped John, but as a owner/trainer of both english and western style for 20+ years in my younger days I honestly can't feel very sorry for those act that way as it could have really been much worse -

Perhaps the sign should be worded "Don't place hands near horses mouth they may bite." It astounds me how many people shove their hands at the horses mouth, of course this action to the horse means a snack, not an empty hand. Have been a horse owner and rider for many years.
I think this is great I live in America and this would be awesome to be able to come over to great Britain. One thing I do notice and it’s not just Americans they treat this tradition like it’s Disney world and they don’t take it serious.
Another great video, John. Note to self: 1.) Pay attention to the sign, & how the horse behaves with others. 2.) Never look or even smell delicious to a horse. Well done, for looking after the Canadian horse bite victim.
Thank you for the beautiful photography. I enjoyed watching all the activities and hearing the commands. I'm in Texas and can't travel. I felt like I was there❤
To her credit the young lady didn't try to pull away from the horse when he chomped her. That likely saved her from it breaking skin. She will have a nasty bruise but a heck of a story.
I'm so glad she didn't scream. I used too teach riding lessons and it would drive me crazy when parents forced their kids into lessons and they were terrified of every move the horses made and would jump or squeal in terror. I spent so much time having to educate them how to act and remain calm around horses. I'm sorry she got hurt but it wasn't surprising the way the horse was acting before this incident. As others have said, the horse gave plenty of warnings. Great job in helping her and with your videos!
The horses don’t like things just like we don’t, in the case of the horse that bit my fellow Canadian probably is like me & doesn’t like crowds. I can get a panic attack over being surrounded by that many people. Thanks John for helping her to get looked at & yes she will have quite a bruise from that bite.🇨🇦
That’s were I’m from ontario canada, John you were so kind to look after the girl and show here where to go for first aid, you are a dear man, thank you ❤️🇨🇦🇬🇧❤️🥰
I can't believe how strong headed people are! The horse was literally getting agitated and people were even letting their kids get super close. After a while, they should tell people that no more pictures and being near the horses are allowed!
Delighted they are keeping away from Wombat and Lincoln, this is perfect for the horses and the guards. Love it! I have no sorrow for people who get bitten at all, they should take notice of the sign and act like grown ups, it's not as if she doesn't read or understand English is it? Not nibbling trying to fully bite his ears are back and he is fed up. Not bitten, nipped serves her right silly woman! Well done horse! Why be upset for her she did have the sign behind after all. Horse are entitled to their own personal space and they get anxious with too many people altogether. Poor Lincoln🥲
When raising a young horse, I was taught again and again the importance of not allowing them to be mouthy on humans. It's a super difficult line because young horses explore the learn the world via their mouths. But when they're comfortable putting a hand or arm or sweatshirt or whatever into their mouths routinely, it's an easy step for them to add a bit too much pressure and OUCH. Even when they're not really trying to cause you harm necessarily. I think this woman was just unlucky because this horse was in a really mouthy mood and had been mouthing at every person before her, but she couldn't have known that if she hadn't been watching for the last 20 minutes. At a stable, people would have been warned to stand out of reach of the horse's mouth so as not to keep encouraging the behavior, but this is not a stable and is kind of a free-for-all.
i love the royal family, but don’t get me wrong, this horse and guards tradition is so strange and far outdated. it seems like a total waste of taxpayer money. not to mention cruelty to the animals who are forced to put up with this nonsense. i mean, really why are we still shoeing horses in 2024??? would you want someone nailing an excruciatingly HOT piece of iron to your foot once a month or less?? making you stand still for several hours of the day with a very uncomfortable metal bit in your mouth while the whole world comes by and wants to snap photos with you, whilst a heavy chap sits on your back? you can’t take a proper drink of water with that bit in your mouth, can’t move. it’s cruel. and people actually have to pay for this to this day. seems crazy to me. it’s not 1824 anymore. the British forces can protect the royal family!!
I hope my fellow Canadian is alright. I don't image that arm will be feeling too good tomorrow. I saw the same kindness with Abdullah when a little girl was lost, you are good man John.🥰🇨🇦
I Love these guards! I respect each an every one of them! It hurts my heart when I see people disrespecting!!!!! These great men! I wish I could visit one day. But guess not. These people can afford to go an be there. I never will. But I love them the same an I wish u luck babies with these tourist!!!!❤❤❤❤
Lincoln had had enough, before the Canadian lady got bit. He was pushing people away beforehand with his nose. So many tourists around so much noise, so much going on. This is not a petting zoo, its a military barracks, and should be respected as a barracks. Problem is the tourists don't know this. More information about Horse Guards their horses, the barracks should be given out. John you did a good thing for her, she'll remember the bite and the fact she got help. Plus yours, Buska and others filming and pictures are helping educate people about Horse Guards. Thank you..
I'm aware I sound like I'm ranting and I don't mean to be rude. I really like this channel and hope John keeps making and posting videos. My point: Horses don't "know" people or animals who are NOT in their herd. They don't like you and don't care where you are from, how much you think you know about horses, or who you think you are. They don't like their highly sensitive whiskers mauled, in fact it really bothers a horse to have sensory whiskers rubbed back and forth and so often. They don't know where the dirty hands have been. Plus, the trooper horses and guardsmen and guardswomen are on duty...guarding. Anyone define "SAFETY" adequately and appropriately?
Enjoying the Easter Horseguards films. Thank you for giving up your Bank holiday to keep us entertained! Also Thank you for aiding the young lady with her lovebite from Lincoln and showing good old UK sympathy. We are good hosts even if our ‘guests’ don’t always follow the rules !!!!!
As usual, gentleman John. I've been bitten many times over the years, it goes with the territory. That said, you're always taken by surprise and that adds to the hurt. Well done. I think the Chinese girl with the mask worked the horse up. The Canadian girl was so well behaved. Qudos to her.
"Doing horseback riding" does not make her a horse whisperer! If she's really "familiar"with horses, she wouldn't stick her hand under his mouth like that. She was teasing him. He clearly thought she had a treat, hence the bite. (I have a little pony that has bitten me a few times because he thought I had a treat in my hand. I stopped hand feeding him treats and keep my hands away from his mouth. The biting has stopped.)
Yikes! I'm so sorry to see that young girl who was bitten. You were so gracious to help her find someone to look at her arm. I was shocked, but she really handled it really well. Just before her there was a young woman with a mask on that may have irritated the horse. I was certain she was going to get her fingers bitten off! It would be great if there was a way to let them know that the soldiers are not just tourists props! The King's Guard deserves more respect. I agree that you should release the video for educational purposes. I was getting very upset about that young girl right before the one bitten who was grabbing the horse by the muzzle. She was being very forceful.

I feel this is the right solution - wouldnt want to see any of these beautiful horses destroyed because they bit someone and hate to see someone injured accidentally.
That was very nice of you to look after her. You are a gentle man and an ambassador for Horse Guards.
Agreed
John is great, when he's not being an anti-Semite.
You were very kind to the young lady who was bitten! Thank you!
You are much kinder than I am I would have laughed at her, shook my head and walked away.
John, thank you so much for your compassion.
Your willingness to jump in and insist that she seek help shows your true nature. Thank you John!
you're a sweetheart John.
@@bonniehogancamp2991 marry him then
But it’s her fault and not the horse or rider.
@@kimgrattage6049 This is a very stressful situation for horses and guards and if fortunate that this doesn't happen more often.
That was extremely nice of you to tell her where to get help. Thanks john
Poor horse must be sick of all those people pawing at him.
@@trevorg2128 What are you, a horse whisperer? Being around horses and my own most of my life, I personally would not have my fingers or hands anywhere near a strange horses mouth. Also head nodding and ears back is a dead giveaway to a horse that wants to be left alone.
This horse looks checked out.
Isso acontece todos os dias?
Thank you for taking us through to the big yard. Awesome!
Awww you were so sweet looking after her and making sure she was alright. Thank you for being so kind. 🇨🇦
Tk U for your concern & care of my fellow Canadian, lady sure was nice of you, God Bless, the world need more people like you
I'm glad she's going to be alright, but it was her fault getting too close. I feel sorry for the guards and the horses for having to put up with this on a daily basis.
What a wonderful horse, does not flich. Stunning
The horse was letting everyone know that it wasn't in the mood. Had people taken notice of the body language they would have realised and not got too close.
Agreed
You are giving thrm.to much credit! Care only for themselves not the horse!
He's not a happy bunny today.😂
@@ladyd8339I honestly think most people have never been near a horse. They don't realise this is NOT a petting zoo. People coming up then going. Constant noise, of people. It would annoy me so I'm not surprised Lincoln had had enough.
Must admit I've learnt a lot through watching these videos, and would now watch the horses ears!

@qwipperty. Actually John has promised him 2 hay nets if he has a good bitting day and he needed something to spread his maple syrup on!

We can attribute human phrases like “Hey, who are you”, “Do you have something for me”, “What's this?” or even the more cheeky “Move along” to the nudging of a horse's nose. hope this information helps a bit -
The horse guards are NOT an amusement park or petting zoo - I really thought a child would get hurt this past weekend with the rate of 'child danger' incidents filmed by you and a couple other youtubers - maybe the MOD should take a more active role in advising tourists of certain potential dangers or the guard being able to warn tourists/parents to stay back, not crowd his/her horse when it's not in the best of moods -
Totally Agree. They should Stop using Horse's. The Horse's must get so sick of being touched and also having to stand there for long periods with a rider on its back. Its well known that this is not good for the Horse's back. Plus the Horse's get bord and frustrated which can lead to bitting.
Well said, also horses can hear heartbeats four feet away. So, if a person is scared, the heartbeat tells the horse, you’re scared!!
Much respect John. You're a good man. I know that had to hurt... been on that end. I pray she healed up okay. Thank you for your kindness and willingness to lend a hand when others are in need.
Thank you John for looking after the lady. Horse bites hurt so bad. I will not say any negative as it's nicer showing compassion like you did. Well done John.
Public should not be allowed to stand close to the horses 20-ft away is far enough.
I don't understand why ppl put their hands right under horses mouth? Horse may think there is a snack being given. I'm not afraid of horse but would not impose on their space. Sending sunshine to UK from Winter Haven, Fl.❤
Time to stop this spectacle. Those poor horses are obviously not comfortable with all the crowds and people pawing them. This is not what they meant for.
Who can blame the horse for biting? Most of the morons annoy the horse and they don't stop.
Nobody's blaming the horse. If the Brits didn't want people hanging around the horse, they'd put a fence around the horse and not allow people to get so close.
It’s a miracle that there wasn’t a lot of bites, there are so many stupid people there… SMH!!! Poor horses being bothered by all these tourists… ❤❤❤🐴❤❤❤
@@518hs Well there's a white line around that spot now that nobody is suppose to cross. They placed in new rules and now nobody but the guard can touch the horse.

I don’t understand why they let the public get that close.
Ouch !!😮It's very nice that you helped her, that was a very nice gesture. Poor girl but the sign is there as a warning but hardly anyone takes notice of it.
Oh my goodness it’s really busy. Thank you for your videos John.
That was very kind of you to help the Canadian lady ! Thank you
Since when does someone have to apologise for showing kindness?? John., you were a gentleman.
No idea how I found this channel, but have liked and subscribed!
Great admiration to you John. Your concern went a long way toward their staying calm. They will remember your kindness longer than they will remember the bite.
Thank you.
I couldn't agree more. With such throngs of people all jabbering on, the horses must get stressed - I know I do, and I'm not even there!
I don’t know how much clearer they have to say The sign says it all!!!

Gorgeous horses 🐎 great guards
I'm from the US and I am so surprised by the lack of respect that tourist have for the kings life guard and their horses.
Why would you be surprised??? You know how Americans act when they travel. They are first only to the Germans and Italians typically in their rudeness.
Sorry
Totally agree and the lack of “duty of care” for their children .
I'm not surprised at all.
Perhaps the sign should be worded "Don't place hands near horses mouth they may bite." It astounds me how many people shove their hands at the horses mouth, of course this action to the horse means a snack, not an empty hand. Have been a horse owner and rider for many years.
You can’t fix stupid lol and these tourists etc are stupid period
TY John you are so thoughtful, kind, and caring for others
Bite happens at 43:36 for those who dont want to wait
The sign is there that they bite but no one seems to read it. Love listening to your comments. Cheers from Atlanta, Georgia
Funny that - maybe everyone in the world doesn't read or speak English. Are you silly or what ?
Have a great day from Canada❤
You were so good John looking after the Canadian tourist poor thing must have had an awful fright. Good job. As usual a gentleman.
I really like your channel, you’re interesting, informative, you’re humorous & get helpfully involved, making it very entertaining. Thanks.
That was so kind of you to help her John. ❤
Everyone thinks they’re the Horse Whisperer!
Can easily put rail around to keep public at distance, madness
The horse's just blow my mind they are so amazing 😍
You were so kind to help the Canadian tourist. Great Job John.
John is great, when he's not being an anti-Semite.
Good of you to help her. I like your channel and your commentary.
i love the royal family, but don’t get me wrong, this horse and guards tradition is so strange and far outdated.
it seems like a total waste of taxpayer money. not to mention cruelty to the animals who are forced to put up with this nonsense.
i mean, really why are we still shoeing horses in 2024??? would you want someone nailing an excruciatingly HOT piece of iron to your foot once a month or less?? making you stand still for several hours of the day with a very uncomfortable metal bit in your mouth while the whole world comes by and wants to snap photos with you, whilst a heavy chap sits on your back?
you can’t take a proper drink of water with that bit in your mouth, can’t move.
it’s cruel. and people actually have to pay for this to this day. seems crazy to me. it’s not 1824 anymore.
the British forces can protect the royal family!!
Good mid-morning John! That was a nasty bite that young lady got, you were so nice to help her!❤❤🇱🇷
Leave the horses alone.
That poor horse looks so miserable but not the reason this happened. Totally human error.
I hope my fellow Canadian is alright. I don't image that arm will be feeling too good tomorrow. I saw the same kindness with Abdullah when a little girl was lost, you are good man John.🥰🇨🇦
Failed to read the notice. 😂 tough
I hope she learned how to read and not expect not to lose a hand for getting too close to the horse on duty and annoying him.
John you were very nice to go to her and offer help, thank you.
Totally agree it just creates nippy pocket rippers
Thank you John. So happy the bitten girl is ok, he really latched on to her arm.
You take really good videos of the Kings Guards and I love the commentary.
