I generally love these podcasts, however in this case, his ignorance is embarasing, and she is spewing false anti Torah stupidity. Very dangerous for people who don't know anything about these things.

45:20 Sony I’m upset bc she doesn’t understand that chazal instituted that this is how it should be with guys being the things she wants girls to be etc etc … she’s going against chazal against the Halacha

FG wants women to be community leaders. Just go check out any one of the 8,000 Chabad couples around the world doing just that! Chabad separates the "shtuss" (no women's faces in print) from actual halacha (no mixed dancing, etc).

The man says yes to the girl first bc it’s his chiyuv to get married not hers… second the idea of men being “predominant” in Judaism is simple, men are the givers women are the recipients, this is rooted in Kabbalah, therefore men are doers and are meant to do whereas women are meant to receive and do less “doing”. The idea of lack of tznuis for women to speak or have their pictures etc is rooted in Halacha Poskim discuss women talking in public some say yea some say no. The idea of their pictures as long as it’s tznuis there’s no issue, as long as it’s “tznuis”. Correct, if the man has inappropriate thoughts bec of your tznuis picture he’s at fault, but if you’re not tznuis and he has inappropriate it is your fault. What’s tznuis? Cover Elbows cover knees, cover cleavage, the looser the clothing the better, everything else is chumrahs. Therefore if you’re coming to that community with a certain Chumrah obey it even though you don’t agree to it. Why they have such stricter chumrah? Maybe Bec they’re “better” individuals as the Gemara says the greater the person the greater the yezter hara so they need more tznuis rules

45:40 regarding guys having to give gittin and her saying it isn’t an issue. It’s an issue when she says to her followers you can’t have s-x until malky is freed or were gunna get together with LGBQT folks to protest for Malky.. all types of issur stuff she’s doing to get the agunas out not acc to Halacha

The ketuba has a nominal amount, the halachic prenup is financial coercion. Also, if she leaves the marriage she is, halachically, a "moredes", (rebellious wife) and loses the ketuba. So a prenup is not at all the same.

There is a system for selecting a beis din. The plaintiff chooses one, the defendant agrees or not. If not, he must proffer another. The plaintiff can then agree to that or not. If both have disagreed with the other's choice it goes to "Zabla". That involves each party picks a dayan and the 2 dayanim choose the third. Simple

  • @mosheisenberg8463

FG: "we can void the marriage". This was done where one party hid a physical or mental defect, hid something egregious. This is inapplicable to cases of a gett

FG wants to join the dancing on Simchas Torah? To do the auction? Etc. No problem. She just has to go to a Reform Temple! She wants a feminist agenda plus an Orthodox label. Doesn't work.

Sunny, I love your composure and professionalism on this podcast.
I am not a psychologist but in my humble opinion, this girl can easily qualify to have a histrionic personality disorder. I have noticed her thirst and desperation for attention whether it should be negative or positive, and the thing that she worships the most is her dream to be in the spotlight, which understandably greatly affects her role as a woman within the ultra-orthodox community negatively.
I for sure agree with a lot of her points regarding Gittin however, I found her motives to be completely narcissistic and self-centered.
You can say that we might need such a personality to push change however, as I observe her tactics and boundaryless interventions I am afraid that she alienates our Agunes even more.
I will take my evidence from her own words when she said that she did not even ask those individuals that she is so publicly "standing up for" before she put up their images and personal stories in the public eye.
She said on the Mislabeled podcast that she would utilize any weapon she can, including joining with the hypothetical Nazi Germany propaganda system to get her agenda!!!
As she revealed her tactics to infiltrate the most religious and segregating Jewish communities with an LGBT pride parade, she showed that she does not show any sensitivity to the communities of her victims these communities that she is trying to help.
She knows very well that these communities will greatly prioritize resisting those pride events, eventually hurting those individuals within the community she initially intended to help out.
To her response that she needs to do everything in her power to bring change, I am just concerned about what her boundaries are before finding an interest to make allies with her.
As I find her acting in this way, I would be very afraid to align myself with her out of fear that she would not stop for anything and throw anyone under the bus.
To summarize: I just need to find something that she would put before her ego rather than putting "herself" and her yearning for attention as the cause of her fights.

Chabad communities only follow what Rebbe said to a certain extent. Most Chabad Houses are run with the couple as equal partners, many even with strong women leadership exceeding their partners. In the frum chabad communities, patriarchy is still very strongly upheld. Women are not voting for community leadership or speaking publicly when they are the more qualified. It is an uphill battle where males have power and females are upholding it because it is comfortable.

I will say this I won’t go the route to everything she says is right or wrong or she’s all good or all bad or any extreme. There are many things she says which are incompatible with orthodox Halacha, other things she’s partially correct fully correct it at least has a good argument. She has said many things which destroy any credibility she may or may not have. That said even if anyone disagrees that she loses credibility by saying certain things, there is one huge claim she makes which is not only a huge issue in general and in relation to everything she is fighting for which is an indisputable fact that can be proven in so many objective ways and that is the family courts are 100% biased against men. Every statistic and measure shows that men are at a huge disadvantage the second they enter the family court regardless of the specific facts of their case. Be it financially where the man is the one who in 80-90% of the time gets the short end of the stick in every financial aspect (even if you take two identical cars but one the women has a certain set of facts and the other vice versa, the overwhelming majority of the time the man will get screwed in both cases). More importantly women get majority custody 85% if the time in the US where custody is disputed (some states it’s higher than 85% if that) that goes across all cases with all sorts of facts again if you take all cases with identical or similar facts. The woman wins custody 85% of the time regardless of which side of the facts she’s on. Yes there are cases where the woman should get custody but there are an equal amount of cases where the father should get custody and even a higher number of cases where custody should be equal 50/50. Then the icing on the cake is the man who loses his kids 9 out of 10 times now has to give money through child support and alimony when he wants to raise his kids and pay for them and take care of them. Lastly on the rare occasion the man gets custody he doesn’t even ask for financial support and even those who do receive it less frequently percentage wise and a lesser amount to identical situations in the reverse. All this information including all of these facts are easy for anyone to research and verify. So just get claiming that men saying family and divorce courts are unfair is a lie and an excuse completely destroys any credibility she would have if she had any. She doesn’t have credibility to begin with for so many other reasons but even if she did this outrageous harmful lie if a claim would destroy said credibility.

    Sonny is the best!
Flatbush girl is amazing. Her goal with stopping the aguna crisis is very important,
We have a torah and mesorah how to live life and the roles of men and women are very clear
Of course, in some places its taken to an extreme, but thats their choice, and there is no reason in the world to fight it like this. She should stick to being an advocate for issues that are valid and should be changed and not try to change the lifestyle of tousndes of happy frum Jewish men and woman .
Btw im divorced and im part of the H thingy 😂
