"Under Pressure" is over 40 years old, yet it still gives me chills, thanks to all over the memorable hooks and harmonies.
That song is fire. No wonder why Vanilla Ice sampled it.
It's the ringtone when my mom calls. She is 90. Someday, I won't be able to hear that song without crying.
It's Queen and David Bowie, it's perfection!
WALK THIS WAY by Run DMC and Aerosmith!!!
One of my faves ❤
They missed that big time! Collab bet heavy metal and rap
Seriously!!! That collab brought hip hop to a lot of people that hadn't seen it yet.
Let's face it the boy is mine was such a great idea for Brandy and Monica considering that at the time the media was trying to build up such a non-existent rivalry between the two talented ladies and the song quickly shut them up
Not to mention that was during an era when female artists didn’t collaborate. It was all about being the “diva”. After the Boy Is Mine collaboration and people saw how successful it was, the girls started sharing the limelight! Even Whitney and Mariah had to come together!
Everything on the first half until Chris Brown is fucking perfect for that time frame. Sorry you weren't born then. You would have enjoyed it. Sorry it left you willing to talk down on it. Bet you will sing it at the top of your lungs though if it comes up on a jukebox(that's that bar song machine you use to play music) or on the radio(obviously not fm for you).
Brandy and Monica aren't going to the mall together anytime soon. They fought back stage back then.
Whatta Man by En Vogue and Salt n Pepa shook the genre!
Damn, I forgot about that one!
Two collabs I was surprised to not find on this list: Telephone by Lady Gaga ft. Beyoncé, and Walk This Way by Run DMC ft. Aerosmith (the former for the sheer star power and the latter for being such an unusual cross-genre pairing that got fans crossing the fence to listen)
Telephone was good, but Video Phone was reaalllly not good.
Not to mention, the collaboration helped revive Aerosmith's career (even though the "Aerosmith" part in the studio AND video was just Steven Tyler and Joe Perry; the other members of "Aerosmith" in the video were members of a group called Smashed Gladys).
There was nothing groundbreaking about Beyoncé and Gaga doing anything. You’re right about the other one tho
Walk This Way was the first one I instantly thought of. It definitely should have been on this list.
@@kerrinbrittain4393 Agreed.. Arguably the 1st !!
Michael and Janet should have done more songs together as Scream was an incredible song. The same can’t be said with him and Eddie Murphy. I want to be clear that Whatzupwitu isn't a bad song, but it sounds like a fake song that would be used in a movie.
I highly concur, I'm surprised that Michael and Janet didn't collaborate more, they really worked well together, an amazing sibling act.
I love Whatzupwitu it's so funny because on the one hand Michael sounds amazing but the song is so flat 😂
@@TwilightSagaCullenI even said, “No amount of Michael Jackson made that song good.” Lol.
Michael and Janet always be iconic brother and sister 🔥💯
Mick Jagger and David Bowie's music video might be cheesy and dated by today's standards, but there's an odd sort of charm about it. Also, Family Guy even showed the entire video during one cutaway gag.
I saw the still images and they are meme worthy.
To me, it was just a fun video that you danced around to when it came on MTV
Yeah and Family Guy called it the gayest music video ever.
Two friends having a lot of fun singing a feel-good song together. I have never understood the hate for this song and duet. Not everything has to be a masterpiece.
Santana colaborations specially with Rob Thomas "Smooth" and Everlast "Put the Lights On"!!!! 🎉
OMG YES. Smooth is so good ❤❤❤
Dancing in the Streets with Jagger and Bowie was a great collab. You aren't taking into account the zeitgeist of the 80s as well as the tongue in cheek nature of the video of two monster personalities. It was SUPPOSED to be goofy and cornball. Also, the Aerosmith and Run DMC collab with Walk This Way was epic. Super unexpected and it fit together perfectly.
How is "Walk This Way" (Aerosmith and Run DMC version) not on this list?
Eminem and Rhianna Love The Way You Lie was great.
What about “ Love the way you lie” by Rhianna and Eminem?
Considering it is a powerful song about DV ( Rhianna’s relationship with Chris Brown) and features both sides of the victim/ perpetrator’s dynamic, it is not to be underestimated!
FINALLY some “Scream” love!!! No one ever acknowledges this pop masterpiece!
Under Pressure still holds water after 4 decades and I still can't get over Freddie Mercury's range, considering how beautiful and raw it is. But as far as Linkin Park and Jay-Z's collab for "Numb/Encore" is concerned, it's solid as a rock, even to this day.
Tina Turner and Bryan Adams - "It's Only Love". Great song and their chemistry onstage was 🔥
I love Tina's collab with Eros Ramazotti and Bryan's with Mel C :)
I totally adore No More Tears (Enough Is Enough). It's my lady jam!
And the fact that Brandy & Monica appeared on the remix of Ariana Grande’s “the boy is mine”… *chef’s kiss*
I feel like you missed the point of Me!
No. It's a bad song.
@piri82 in your opinion. Many people enjoy it though.
One of them is me 😁
How is Bing and Bowie not on here?? Little Drummer Boy/Peace on Earth is amazing! Their harmonies are incredible! Yet no mention. Smh.
Apparently I have a little of a bad taste because I love Secret Love Song and Me😂
You don’t have bad taste with ME! They are just to over critical! ME was a light-hearted and fun summer song not meant to be taken seriously, but here they are analyzing it like is the great Gatsby or something
I also really enjoy Secret Love Song and Me. 😅
Linkin Park and Jay Z were to artists I'd have never put together but when it happened oh boy did it happen love Brandi and Monica so much but I think people misunderstood the video proves its woman supporting woman obviously the fighting proves they are both being stupid over this supid guy so descide to stand together in the end as for Bowie and jagger I think there duet is pretty self explanatory they are just two mates having fun nothing wrong with that
Michael and Janet will always be the magical brother and sister duo (Rip Mike, we miss you everyday). That boy is mine really shook the genre. One song i feel should be there is N***s in Paris by Jay-Z and Kanye West. Boy, that song took the hip hop world by storm.
Shook the Genre: When You Believe by Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston. This collab of the two biggest female songstress supremes was the best. Both rocking the charts during the 90s with hits after hits after hits, they showed to media that there was no competition between them and that they support, respect and adore each other. That is on top of the magical song. Uhhhh the bridge, for heaven's sake, is insane.
Hey! Don't knock the Bowie/Jagger colab! This was done at the last minute for the Live Aid '85 concert! Do your research!
Seven Spanish angels is one that should have been on this list. Willie Nelson and Ray Charles did a great job on the song
Scream is my fave music video ever! 👑❤
If Brandy and Monica weren’t on here I was going to report!
I have to disagree with you on Him and I. Love the song
I love the song too!!! Halsey makes anything sound good though. Lol!
It was definitely the most successful of the 5!
My two favourite collaborations on this list are Under Pressure and Scream. Perfection.
I immediately smiled when I heard "Lady Marmalade" by Mya, P!nk, Lil' Kim and Christina Aguilera
Bowie/Jagger collab happened because of Live Aid (1986)and the video was made in one night so it was ready to show at Live Aid concert. Jagger and Bowie was supposed to preform the song together one from Wembley and one in Philadelphia but due to the satelite delays that wasn’t possible. That’s why the video is so campy.
there's not a day that passes by without ME!ss getting its lashings😂💀
I think what people are missing is that Taylor wanted this song to be for little kids.
She downright says so in "Miss Americana".
There were some collabs in the 80s that may not have shook the genre but were still great none the less.
Aretha Franklin & Eurythmics - Sistas Are Doin' It (For Themselves)
Aretha Franklin & George Michael - I Knew You Were Waiting
Tina Turner & The Fixx - Better Be Good To Me
George Michael & Elton John - Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me
And some that were kind of okay.
Paul McCartney & Stevie Wonder - Ebony & Ivory
Paul McCartney & Michael Jackson - Say, Say, Say (The Girl Is Mine is meh)
The traveling wilburys
I remember a bit of a joke that came out shortly after "Scream" was released, that the video proved Michael and Janet really were two different people. (Given the fact that Janet's albums had all come out between Michael's albums and they'd never really been seen interacting publicly anywhere--neither one seemed to be at things like the Grammy Awards at the same time--there'd actually been a bit of a conspiracy theory that all of that work had all really been done by Michael. Granted, no one really believed that but the album timing WAS really a wild coincidence.)
I love your videos,ms mojo
agreed on "Secret Love Song". Bless that we got a solo version eventually
Love the way you lie with enimen and Rhianna is a classic
How could you leave out BTS + Coldplay? 🤷🏼♀️
Also, the classic Bing Crosby + David Bowie? 🎄
You should do a top 10 of best metal/hiphop duets. There's a lot of them out there.
I love you Michael Jackson ❤❤❤❤
Under Pressure = ICONIC
I Loved the collab between Blue and Elton John - Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word
A collab that didn't get NEAR enough attention was Fall in Line by Christina Aguilera featuring Demi Lovato. Aboslutely powerful.
It's already dated when it came out, that type of song has been done to death
ME! is a great song. I used to listen to it at the gym all the time.
Agreed. I find it so fun not childish.
@@janejones7638Agree. And girl can’t win. They complain all her songs are about her exes, she does a song that is NOT about an X, and they still complain. I’m not a Swifty but the hate gets tiresome. Nothing our society likes more than building someone up so they can viciously tear them down.
A bodega sandwich that Fraser killed me. 😂😅
Learned something new Barbara and Donna ❤
Britney (Pop), Beyonce (R&B) & Pink (Rock) - We Will Rock You (Pepsi Commercial)
Happy friday afternoon, Kirsten, take care and God bless you. Greetings from Colombia to you as well
I love Enough is Enough! ❤
Outstanding
Personally I adore the entire Collision Course Jay Z/Linkin Park cd. It’s one of my favorite albums to listen to on a regular basis. 😀😀😀
i didn't even know there was a version of bday cake with chris brown lol
Ok am I the only person that actually likes Dancing in the Street. I mean yeah it's not like a masterpiece or anything but they're voices actually sound really good together and I very much enjoy listening to that song. Also can we take a moment to appreciate the amounts of great collaborations David Bowie did, I mean he worked with people like John Lennon, and as the video states Queen, and Mick Jagger. Even his later collabs are good with Nine Inch Nails and the Pet Shop Boys. I really love Under Pressure and Dancing in the Street. So that's my bit and I love David Bowie so what more can I say.
Surprised that Aerosmith and Run D.M.C aren't on here
Whitney and Mariah "When You Believe", Barbra and Celine "Tell Him", Michael and Paul "Say Say Say", Elton John and Kiki Dee "Don`t Go Breaking My Heart", are 4 great duets
I have you know, I enjoy listening to David Bowie and Mick Jagger's Dancing in the Streets. Change my mind. 😅😮😂😊
You probably forgot about telephone by gaga and beyonce
ya one of most iconic duo
Chris Brown should not be allowed anywhere near Rihanna for the rest of both of their lives!
Imagine the music Freddy Mercury would have made if he survived the AIDS crisis. or John Lennon surviving his assassination.
Birthday cake was my shit tho
I honestly forgot about that little mix song
You’re right with ME that the videoclip is childish but i love the song (not a swiftie at all) only P!atd
Same. The only reason why I like the song is because of Brendon and honestly, feel like he held back to let her shine. Granted, he had a 103° fever when recording, so that could've played a part as well.
@@Michelle-DiPalo he's literally the worst aspect of the song lol, he even is the one responsible for the most cringeworthy line of the entire song "spelling is fun"
I love all the songs on the list. Even the shaking our heads 😅 (without rihanna and chris) is all about taste and likes
Tbh I didn’t know dancing in the street by them until years later I only knew it from sister act 2 for years
Walk This Way!!!! Taking the legends of Aerosmith and Run DMC should make any list like this, it was among the first collaborations that had rap/rock, and F-ing nailed it
Whazapwichu has got to be the funniest thing evef
Shook the genre: Mariah Carey ft O.D.B. - Fantasy (remix). This song made collaborations between pop/R&B singers and rappers mainstream.
When you believe should be on there
Dancing In The Street is still a good collab by two giants, whether you like it or not.
Scream by MJ and Janet never gets old. Years ago, this song made me want to buy The German Edition (Best Of album basically). That was before I secured the HIStory album ❤
Beyonce and Shakira's Beautiful Liar should have least had an honourable shook mention!
I don't like Taylor Swift but I like Me
Thank you.
1. Dancing in the Streets by Mick and David should be excluded.
a. It was created to promote 1985 Live-Aid, dual daylong concerts in Philly and London for the Ethopian famine.
b. Apparently, they spent the minimal on the song and video for the cause.
2. Maybe, replace it with State of Shock by Mick and theJacksons. It originally was supposed to be a duet by MJ and Freddie Mercury.
3. Bowie might be the greatest collaborators of all time, Bing, Tina, Queen, NIN, ...
The David Bowie and Mick Jagger duet was supposed to be performed at Live Aid in 1985. It was supposed to be the first time a transatlantic performance. Since that wasn't possible it was made into a mv
Sparkled the Universe:
"Somethin' Bad" (2014)
Miranda Lambert × Carrie Underwood
Pink and Nate Ruess
A lot of Mixers said the Secret Love Song pt 2 should have been through single. Personally I don't understand why JD is dancing it the video
Taylor really doesn't have any good collaborations. However, I love "The Last Time"
exile? coney island? evermore? nothing new? snow on the beach? renegade? castles crumbling? the alcott? those are all excellent
Nah y'all wilding about the birthday cake remix
After the 3rd collaboration I was wondering why I am subscriber and why I watch this...
But I like him&I ...I think it's great.
Her hate for Jason and Chris is not a secret.
Umm Ice-T has done a lot more Punk Rock with Body Count than he’s done hip hop.
It's too hard to pick just five.
Here are other candidates for ones that shook the genre: Islands in the Stream by Dolly Parton and Kenny Rodgers
Walk this Way by Run-DMC and Aerosmith
Lady Marmalade by Mya, Pink, Lil' Kim, Christina Aguilera and Missy Elliott (as seen in the intro)
Stan by Eminem and Elton John
Beautiful Liar by Beyonce and Shakira
Can't believe you left out Elaine Paige and Barbara Dickinson and I know him so well as that was a brilliant collaboration.
Donna and Babs!!!
Bing Crosby and David Bowie. 😊
Honorable mention: That awful "duet" from Quantum of Solace. It was so bad, it rightfully cut the legs out from both of their careers.
yet i like dancing in the street
y'all should do a list about that didn't need a feature/ or a remix then do one where the remix is better
Lady Marmalade Wins For Me.
cooool
I dont care, I will love anything Brendon Urie puts out. I love that song, it's catchy!
Yes, it's such a fun song. Just because it's fun, doesn't mean it's childish.
What about champion by Carrie Underwood featuring Ludacris
4 Minutes!
Same Script Different Cast by Whitney Houston and Deborah Cox
When You Believe by Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey
Both of these were AMAZING collabs
Moves like jagger maroon 5 and Christina Aguilera
Babs and Donna Summer 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I like Him & I
All for love by Sting, Bryan Adams, and Rod Stewart
