I will be collecting my new weapon from Berry BMW Heathrow at midnight on Wed 28th Feb, this will mean I will have a 18 plate car. I genuinely cant wait! Joe Achilles joe I’m thinking of leasing one. It’s a toss up between your exact car and a new golf R as a 3rd car, my son can use too. I’ve had the 140 out today. Tbh it doesn’t handle as well as the golf. Faster and more torque. 8 speed is a good auto box. I’ve had most cars. I can’t decide. Only thing that puts me off about the 140 is it’s not as secure in the wet. Loses grip quite easy. Have you driven the golf R dsg? What’s your thoughts on both cars? Thanks
Love the new motor. I actually looked into changing my M235i for an M140 the other week but financially it didn't make sense to make the switch at this time. Had the M235i for a couple of years now and love it but just got slapped with a S59 and 3 points the other day from Mr Police Officer in an unmarked 5 series.

I'm a recent M135i owner (2014), love it and the channel. Small point but you say the Goodridge hoses stop over heating, to my knowledge this isn't the case, they stop flex that can occur in rubber hoses, so improve breaking performance a little; not so important when the hoses are new unless you are track focused but become more so as the car ages. Keep up the good work
Looking at some old m140i RUclips videos from you Joe. Went to test drive the new M135i today. Lovely, but didn't light any fires, especially when you take the price into account. Test drove a 2018 M140i Shadow edition. I'm in love!! Love the retro dials, sound of the engine, the push of the rwd. Mineral grey with cream leather interior. Looks incredible. Something I never thought I'd go for, but about to pull the trigger on 👍

I’ve only had a brief test drive in the pre facelift M135i so I can’t make a full assessment on the car however I take your word on everything you say re the m135/40 and I’d love to ask a BMW engineer why they don’t make them as good as they should be from standard! So I could only get a 14 plate 120d m sport due to age and its by no means slow however I'm thinking of tuning it so remap, twin exhaust etc..I'd love some opinions as to wether you guys think it's worth it or if I just wait and then get an m135/40? I’ve just ordered my new shadow edition. Picking it up next week. Has a few options fitted (was pre selected so I didn’t get to choose) but no adaptive suspension 😟 any suggestions from anyone on what to get done first for any improvements either with performance/general improvements out the showroom?

Motech Performance Thanks. Is this the same for stock exhaust? I've noticed the gases only come out of 1 pipe on start up, not sure when the other pipe opens up but I assume that's what you're referring to. Thanks.

Iv had my shadow edition a few month now and the seats are a bloody nightmare to keep clean. Watch out for new jeans. I love the steering wheel and front splitter 👌🏻

How do BMW feel about this in a warrant sense? I've got an M140i off the back of your videos and thought there would be no scope for modding it. Not interested in remapping it at all?
There is always a small grey area in terms of Warranty, but i'm confident none of these mods will clash in terms of anything going wrong, I will leave remapping on this brand new car, also the stock car has enough pace in reality. Cheers

Nice video Joe. Not a fan of the Orange colour usually but WOW! I don’t know if I could go back to these cars. I could sense my neighbours hate when I used to start my M135i with MP exhaust and sport cat. I still think they sound better than the B58 engine though.

Joe it's absolutely stunning! I know you aren't a fan of bling and for you it's more about the drive rather than the aesthetics, but that's a very good looking car and sometimes why not have a bit of style over substance. Having said that you have some good performance mods too, all round a really beautiful car, dare I say it better than an M car because it's got a bit of a personal touch👍
Something I forgot to ask Joe, does the Motech kit effect the new car warranty in any way ? Really think of the exhaust,spacers,possibly the springs & the air filter..
Joe, just a random question from a perspective buyer, a petrol head that’s on a budget sadly: Q: Is there a lot of difference in performance terms from a M135i to an M140i? Both 5doors with Zf 8speed boxes. Just curious. 5k difference on used car market prices, so makes a big difference for me. Thanks mate.
Great video Joe, are you sticking to the running in period ? 😂 I think I managed to get to 900 miles so didn’t do bad. Just done my first upgrade on my mineral grey m240i lci. Fitted the Bilstein based Birds B2 suspension...not cheap but absolutely brilliant. It has transformed the handling and like you I now want the diff, I will end up going Quaife ATB though rather than the clutch type M Performance. Enjoy the B58.

Car look great Joe. I’d love to do some off this (all bar brakes upgrades as no intention to track it) to my PCP M140i with 8k on the clock but I can’t quite make the ‘man maths’ add up. I’ll be giving it back in 2yrs time, and I’m not sure the impact on insurance, resale value, warranty (prob OK), so few £k fitted price for 2 years. Looks ace though!
Emailed the guys about this at Motech, think it honestly makes the M140i what it should of been from factory. What did it cost you to have the M Performance LSD?

CarGH it uses the o.e valve control so in sport the valve is open

Car look great Joe. I’d love to do some off this (all bar brakes upgrades as no intention to track it) to my PCP M140i with 8k on the clock but I can’t quite make the ‘man maths’ add up. I’ll be giving it back in 2yrs time, and I’m not sure the impact on insurance, resale value, warranty (prob OK), so few £k fitted price for 2 years. Looks ace though!
