- The "dancing flower kick" is a characteristic technique of Shaolin Quan. Consists of a combination of five kicks performed as a whole. "Dancing Flowers" is a typical Buddhist expression: it is used by Shakyamuni Buddha to indicate the aggregate of "form". What seems real and solid actually has the same mobility and inconsistency as "dancing flowers". Even modern physics tells us about the great void and the dance hidden in the heart of matter.
Il "calcio dei fiori danzanti" è una tecnica caratteristica dello Shaolin Quan. Consiste di una combinazione di cinque calci eseguiti come un tutto unico. "Fiori Danzanti" è una tipica espressione Buddhista: viene usata dal Buddha Shakyamuni per indicare l'aggregato della "forma". Quello che sembra reale e solido in realtà ha la stessa mobilità e inconsistenza di "fiori che danzano". Anche la fisica moderna ci parla del grande vuoto e della danza nascosta nel cuore della materia.

This sequence is also called "Five Children ascend to Heaven" but at the end of Shaolin Tong Bei Quan "dancing flowers" is used. Beautiful expression to indicate the aggregates of forms (in Chinese sèyùn 色蕴) and is taken from the Shurangama Sutra (Chinese: Léngyánjīng 楞严经)

Hello! Cool! Excellent performance. I often saw this combination, in particular with Lee Xiao Long. But I didn’t wonder where she was from. Feels like Guo Ruzhang's Bak Sil Lum. Southern interpretation of Northern Shaolin. Hong Kong's Yingzhao Fanzi has a similar technique. But in the very North of China they usually try not to isolate punches from kicks, only in Jiben Gong.
Many Shaolin temple taolu, such as Tong Bei Quan, end with this sequence.
