UPDATE: I finished updating my Apple Watch Ultra 1, and it can't play music or podcasts from the speaker. It looks like only the Series 10 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 will have the ability to play audio from the speaker without a Bluetooth connection, unfortunately. As for the Blood Oxygen app missing on my Ultra 2, it was randomly deleted, but I was able to reinstall it from the App Store. So if you also had it and it's gone, just re-download it, and you should be good. For anyone wondering what Apple Watch band I was using in the video, here’s the link to where I got it from on Amazon. - amzn.to/3TuqMSN
I can confirm the original Apple Watch Ultra does not support music playback, which is really annoying.. there is no reason why they couldn’t allow this.. typical Apple!
@@harrywilliamsjr Same here, I checked my UW2 to see if it was gone . Apple will not take it away. From what I recall, those watches S9 and UW2 manufactured before January will keep the O2 sensor and there to stay. Now those watches manufactured after that date the O2 sensor is disabled.
Thank you for the video, just one thing to note, the oxygen app is available even on the latest models, but outside of the US. It’s definitely available in Europe. It’s a litigation thing for Apple in the US, so once they resolve it, it should be activated for the US users.
Well it’s entirely possible that the ruling will be for Massimo and not Apple and in that case Apple will need to revert to the sensors they used on Watch series 8 and below for all new watches. But, in this case the current models would never be switched back on.
Great update thanks. My Ultra 2 still has blood oxygen monitoring. I suspect any Apple Watch made after Jan 1 of 2024 does not have the feature anymore since Apple lost its copyright infringement case.
Have they fixed the workout features, you start and almost finish a workout and only then the watch reminds you of it, have they fixed that? I doubt it. It seems to me most apple watch owners are more interested in watch faces than on what the watch supposed to be used for. What about the strong coupling of the watch to iPhone? Currently when you start a music on the watch, downloaded on the watch, and go for a jog, the music stops the moment you go out of range with the phone. Sometimes only rebooting the watch can bring back the music. I reported these dozens of times, I doubt they even read them. and dozens of other frustrating issues with both iphone and apple watch.
Great overview. I'm disappointed to see the Explorer face gone. I guess Apple couldn't get the cellular strength meter to work. The icons that just show an antenna with radio waves isn't at all useful for determining signal strength. Also, I have a pre-ban S9 and I DO still have the Blood Oxygen app on my iOS 11 watch -- and it still works. Apple is expected to restore the function in 2028 when the patent expires.
I have been using an Apple Watch since Series 0 in 2015, and this seems like the smallest update ever. Should just be called 10.7 imo. Removes more than it adds for me as a Series 7 owner
hmm thats very strange, blood oxygen is still present on my ultra 2 with watch os11, (Edit) just done a google and it appears its the US that lost that feature i am in the UK
“Remote” does not seem to be able to control itunes anymore. This is a huge disappointment as I use it daily to control the music in my workshop. Why would Apple remove a fearure that worked flawlessly? Any suggestions for a workaround or alternative?
I have the Watch Ultra 2 and installed WatchOS 11. How do I play audio via Spotify from the speakers? I don’t have Apple Music. I also download flacs and audio files for listening, any apps I can use to store some music locally on the watch? I know it has 64GB of storage which is barely being used
I have a series 9 that is one of the early U.S. models that had the blood oxygen. Just did the update and it’s still there and working fine. And yes, I am in the U.S.
It was a royal pain to install, and I had to try a lot of things to finally get it to install even though it was downloaded and there was lots of space for it.
@@shyreetaallen2306 ok so i found the solution when you’re about to listen music on apple watch go on the section where we can chose where to play content from apple watch to iphone or airpods then you can scroll down and here is the option named control other speakers and tv’s click on that and you’re good to go now you can switch between apple watch and iphone

You wouldn’t want it anyways. The music would just blow the speakers. It’s really a dumb feature.
