- I found heaps of new shells on this overcast dawn. Thanks for watching!
Let me know which ones were your favourites ;D and if you enjoyed this and want to see more shell finding videos, I'd appreciate a like or a comment. Thanks everyone!

I didn't even realise that this beach near me had such lovely seashells until I saw "Shellcade Shelling Down Under" - he makes so many awesome videos at this exact beach. He's inspirational and I really admire him, so please consider watching him too: / shellcadeshellingdownu...
Beautiful shells! Love going through a good wrack line. 😊
Thank you Pam!
Ok love your passion for shells. I feel that way about my shells too.
Thank you Gloria! Thanks for watching, I’m glad you liked it. You know, I’d 100% watch a video of your shelling adventures if you ever made one at that beautiful lighthouse 😜
Hello Maddie, I love listening to your cute voice. You are such a happy person. Eventually ypu will have a stunning seashell collection. Trudy
Gosh Trudy, thank you so much 🥰 I don't even know what to say, just that I certainly don't deserve to have such a kind watcher 💕 Thank you, fingers crossed that my collection might come close to matching yours one day ☺️
Nice finds. I love Cowries.
G'day Brenda 👋🏻🐚 My goodness, you've found one of my earliest adventures right here! I'm thrilled that you enjoyed it, and the cowries too! Thank you so much for watching 🥰
Muy hermoso los caracoles me encantan saludos desde chile un abrazo grandeeee
Hi Alicia, thank you so much for watching 💞 I'm sending a big hug to you from Australia 🏖️
Maddie why did you not keep the Limpet? The black snail shell might be a hybrid shell. Never saw one like that. I have a green limped. I found a small keyhole one. We used to call them Chinese hats. Trudy
Hey Trudy 👋🏻 Ahhh, this might hurt your soul to hear, but Limpets aren't shells I usually like to collect 😭 call me crazy if you want to! 🤣 The few limpets I have kept are fairly small ones that seemed a bit different to me; usually from a microshell pile. I really should pick up a few more to show in the videos, they are quite a common shell here, but all are a little different and quite colourful. About the black snail; I went to another beach two days ago where they had all black versions of them (I think they are Nerites) rather than the patchy black and white Nerites at this beach. I think this little ones with the stripes was definitely a little odd, so yes maybe a hybrid? Maybe just a little confused with its shell-making skills? 😁 Thanks for watching the older videos (I can't believe I'm able to say this already!!) and commenting 🥰 your lovely words and thoughts always bring a smile to me, or make me contemplate things from another viewpoint; both are good things!
Hey Ms.Maddie! That black and blue cowrie is a thick-edged cowrie (erronea caurica) not a caurica cowrie and that that big brown cone that you mistaken as a crown cone is actually a cat cone (conus catus) and you were right about the small toothed cowrie and it's scientific name and those snakehead cowries (monetaria caputserpentis) are an absolute beauty and that yellow drupe is a spotted prickly drupe (drupa ricinus) and the magnificent volute that you were talking about,it is a magnificent volute (cymbiola magnifica) anyways the seashells that you found today are absolutely beautiful and I have a question for you,are snakehead cowries the most common cowrie found on your beaches?Because the most common cowrie found on my beaches are gold ring/ring top cowries (monetaria annulus).
Hello Homer! Ooh I was wondering what it was; a thick-edged cowrie, huh? I think I’ve seen images of caurica cowries before, but they were a different colour than the one I found so I figured it was different. Thanks for that, it’s awesome to know what it is. Ah, cat vs crown cone. I need to just say “cone” in the future (I’ll try to adjust myself to say these right, but you’ll probably catch me out again)! I’ll remember the “spotted prickly” drupe, that seems like an easy one! Thank you for watching, and for all of these fantastic identifications! And yes, snakehead cowries are the most common live cowries at this beach… I see maybe 2-3 live gold rings (I’ve heard them called halo or money cowries) for every 20 or so live snakeheads, so they’re a bit rare for me. The snakeheads cluster in the prolific sea sponge. The most common non-live cowrie is probably the “blue cowrie” that I sometimes show in the videos.
@@SandCoffeeRocks I've never seen a live cowrie at my beaches (ever since I was a kid and still to this day I've still never seen a live cowrie) tho,the gold ring cowries are so common to be found that we use them in a traditional board game called sungka, this board game is super popular since then especially since the era of our grandparents and our parents in the philippines but nowadays this game is barely even known in my country especially by gen z and for the reason is because of online games but I do have sungka (that my dad bought me since I was a little kid)but it is far away,at my original home and my grandma is especially great at this board game that none of us can even beat her anyways I have shared a little bit of history of sungka Ms.Maddie!
No live ones! Well, I do understand... I almost never see live cowries except in the sea sponge (the other beaches close-by don’t have sponge). I needed to look up your Sungka game, I don’t think I’ve seen it before. It looks really interesting, and definitely a game that involves strategy. Your grandma must have a sharp mind! Thank you for sharing this beautiful game with me (I’d have never known about it otherwise), it’s super cool that you can use your cowries as game pieces!
@@SandCoffeeRocks sungka can also improve mathematical thinking and teaches patience and observation skills,it is usually played outdoors because there is a Filipino superstition that when you play it indoors the loser will d!e or the house will burn down.
@@homerrioverospantua5881 , well thats an interesting superstition! I bet it was thought up to keep the kids occupied outdoors? Just saying, lol. I could totally seeing mom do that!
What........???? Whaaaaaat.....? Whaaaaaaaaaaattt..........???? LMAO!!🤣🤣🤣🤦♀️
Hahaha Lindsay. Something about seeing my words as text just made me start giggling over my morning coffee. Thank you 💖
😁❤️
I've been missing you... I need to figure out how to get notices.
G’day Chris 👋🏻❤️ I was just thinking about you the other day too and was like: maybe I should give her a nudge? 😂 but you beat me to it! Hmmm, Subscribe if you want to? The little bell button next to it miiiight tell you when I post a new video? You’d think I’d know better, being on RUclips so often, but I think they updated the interface lately and things have moved! I’m almost up to 50 video now, you have a lot to catch up on 🤩 or just chat to me in an email, I was missing you too! I must go reply now, I hope you’ve been well 🥰
That’s a cat cowerie
Thank you Calla! I still have so much to learn 🤣 Is that identification for the big long blue and black cowrie I found near the start?
