Finding Seashells at Hervey Bay | Mangroves & Collecting Wentletraps

- Where did all of this seaweed come from? I'm not sure, but I'm glad it stayed away from the mangroves at Hervey Bay! I was able to look through the sun-bleached wracklines and find nerites, wentletraps, balers, and murexes! My favourite shell this time is that lovely, darkly coloured Biggenden Banded Land Snail!! Fabulous! Thanks for watching~
Let me know which ones were your favourites ;D and if you enjoyed this and want to see more shell finding videos, I'd appreciate a like or a comment. I read all of them and try to reply when I can. You have no idea how much of a smile you guys put on my face. Thanks everyone!

(Check out the illustrations or "plates" to try and match your finds)
Links for less local folks...
Check out the shell families on Femorale, it's a wonderful resource:

Oh no, they're all scientific names? No worries, just type the scientific name
into the Queensland Museum Network database. It might have a common name listed!

Oh my goodness Di!! Thank you so, so much for the Super Thanks 🙏🏻💖 This is incredible generous of you, I'm almost at a loss for words 😲 I can truly say that I never expect anything like this from anyone, so the fact that you've given not only your time to watch and comment on these videos over the last year, but also a monetary support today, again I must say; thank you 🥰 I know it's only a small gesture on my part, but on rare occasions when someone sends a Super Thanks, I also try to give a little 'behind the scenes' story - no idea if you want to hear about it, but anyways??? For this trip, I was incredibly shocked by the amount of seaweed that washed up, but I wasn't the only one 🤔 I actually ran across a shelling couple who live close to my home three hours down the highway 🛣️ they came up looking for shells after seeing my videos 😂 and they too were shocked and dismayed by the seaweed. The man said he only recognised me because of my "black bucket that ran away from me that one time" 🤣🤣🤣 I was like, "ohh shoot!!" What a way to be recognized! He and his wife were very nice, and they were also heading to the mangroves where I'd just left... it's probably one of the only places on the beach which currently has shells! I hope they found some nice shells and wentletraps too; they'd apparently gone there yesterday as well and collected dozens of scallops from the mangroves! In this episode, I mentioned how one scallop looked like the sand had been removed from the back; I suspect it slipped out of this couple's shelling bag. In the end, this day wasn't all that I'd hoped it would be (I was anxious that the mangroves would be empty like the rest of the beach) but it turned out to be really pleasant all things considered 😁 Once again, thank you so much for the support, and thanks for watching 🥰 I hope you enjoyed seeing the variety of mangroves shells this time 🐚❤️
Good afternoon,Maddie
The banded land snail is so nice. I like the ark shell that is all bright white. The violet nerite, the blackish margarite is lovely, lined neirite, all the different dog welkes are to cute, the wenteltraps i really enjoyed all the different ones today, the different merax, wow on finding a rose spindle shell. I don't ever remember you finding on at Harvy Bay. I really enjoy all the shells so very much. I really enjoy all the shelling adventures you take us on. It really makes me get out of my head and feel like I could be right there with you across the world away from you. Thank you again for a great shelling adventure. Have a wonderful day, Maddie
See you next video 😊
G'day Toni, how are you doing? Oh my goodness, I think you've gotten very good with those names, even the more unusual one! I'm glad you liked that banded land snail; it really made my day after so much walking without many other nice shells in sight. Honestly, I was so relieved that the mangroves (and the mangrove shells!) were still exactly where they should be... everything else was pushed aside by that insidious sea weed. It is indeed extremely strange to find a Rosy Spindle Cowrie at Hervey Bay; I've never seen one here before so maybe that shell was a little confused!? It's crazy to think about how much it travelled to reach me in that mangroves like that. Aww Toni, I hope you're doing ok. Thank you so much for coming along on these adventures
Old school is just fine. I hardly ever add emoji's. I am hanging in there. It is the 12th of Oct. Witch means we are going to have our daughter, son-in-law, and grandkids come and go apple picking and pumpkin picking. That is something we have done since our first grand baby was born. In the 1st year, we just took our Madison. She was still in her car seat. We put her in the wagon, and she slept all the way. We had her every other weekend the first 2 years of her life. Then, her dad decided to show up. Made us very sad when that happened.
I hope you are doing well. Have a wonderful day.

G'day Richard 👋🏻🏖️ Aww thank you again for your compliment 🙏🏻 I'm glad you enjoyed the shelling adventure 🥰 Thanks for watching 🐚
Hi 👋🏼 Maddie. I’ve been saving all of my shelling videos for watch while I’m healing from surgery . I’m two days s post op & it’s a slooooow process.. plus I have my grandsons cold. Woke up with that this morning 😣 My favorite 🤩 is the Biggenden .. The orangish Short Spined Murex is another one that stood out.. The Acorn Dog Welks are cuties! The Japanese Bonnet is another great find! The Jeweled Dog Welk is another favorite! 🤩 Love the Channeled Dog Welk too. Th Pallas’s Wentletrap is my final pick!! Thanks for the fun adventure!! TTFN 👋🏼 ❤
G'day Mimi 👋🏻💖 Oh my goodness!! You're having a really rough time of everything right now; I hope your recover speeds up over the next few days 😣 I know it's a small comfort, but I'm glad you got your surgery done before the Christmas break, otherwise you'd be waiting until next year. As for the videos, I'll be happy if they can bring you a bit of good beach-y vibe for a few minutes 🏖️ hopefully laughter will be the best medicine with a few of the recent episodes! I'm thrilled that you liked the shells in this one; it was a day with a lot of variety!! Thank you so much for watching 🥰 and rest up!
Hello Maddie, I hope all good with you.
Oh no not stink water😳😂
That wentle shell was a very good size.
Love a jewelled dog whelk.
Nice scallop. Oooh the long wentle trap looks like a mini unicorn horn.
Like the crab shell.
Love your display at the end. Thank you Maddie. ❤xxx
G'day Alison 👋🏻💖 Hahaha, yes, I told you I'd tell you if something stinks 🤣 but thankfully the wash on water really helped...whatever was stinky in there is no longer in there 😅 The Wentletraps were lovely and yess, some are a good size, but recently I've seen reports of giant Wentletraps appearing at Hervey Bay again...I wonder if I'll be lucky enough to find one?? They usually get collected even by non-shellers because of how lovely they look though. Oh, I think your the only one to mention that crab shell 🦀 I think most people focus on the sea shells 🤔 but I'm glad I showed it this time! Thank you so much for watching 🥰
Hi Maddie , even with all that seaweed you managed to fine a lovely array of shells , and my favorite would have to be the lined nerite and the sunset clam , love them all though ❤❤❤
G’day Annie 👋🏻💖 Ohhh boy, the seaweed was just crazy!! I’ve seen it like this before, but never with so few shells in the affected areas…though, last time I saw this much seaweed was the time I got a very large Wentletrap, so maybe another one will pop up someday soon?? Anyways, I was very lucky to be able to show any shells this time; the sea weed didn’t make it all the way to the mangroves 😮💨 Wow, the Lined Nerite from start of the mangroves is a favourite 🤩 and the sunset clam too! It’s an interesting shell; I saw the live creature while researching which sunset clam it was…it’s a chunky mollusc! Thank you so much for watching the extra long Hervey Bay adventure 🥰
Morning Maddie
I really like the 'hairy shells' we dont have any like that on the east coast. Thank you for a wonderful beach walk
Love and Light
G'day Donna 👋🏻💖 Hehe, those hairy shells are kinda crazy! Hmmm, I feel like you should potentially be able to find some hairy shells, though they might not be fresh enough to still have hair one them 🤔 Do your Mossy Arcs have periostracum on them? I think that maaaaybe you can find the odd rare Triton shell over there that might be a type of hairy triton...again, maybe they're not fresh enough to still have hair when they wash ashore? Anyhoo! Thank you so much for watching 🥰
Enjoyed watching your video with my breakfast and coffee today. You always find a lot of nice shells, I like the wentletraps. Keep up the great work Maddie.
G'day Jeff 👋🏻🏖️☕ Aww thank you 🙏🏻 I'm glad you enjoyed the longer Hervey Bay adventure... I can always count on this beach to have lot of shells to pick through, even if 70% of the beach is covered in seaweed and empty wracklines 😂 honestly, the shelling has been a bit rough everywhere lately 🥲 but I think I'm maybe too spoiled if I think that so easily 😂 Again, thank you for the kind words, thank thanks for watching 🥰
Hi Maddie! Nice finds 🎉 ... lovely adventure as always!
G'day Lucy 👋🏻🏖️ It was an interesting day at the beach...I'm glad the sea weed left a few places uncovered 😲 Thank you so much for watching 🥰
Beautiful variety shells Maddie! Always love to journey with you on your shell finds.
G'day Helen 👋🏻🏖️ Oh goodness, thank you for saying so 😁 the variety was both more and less than I was hoping for; that seaweed was truly crazy 😲 but all the same, I was very lucky with my finds this time. Thank you so, so much for watching the big adventure 🥰
Hi maddie.superrr shelling showwww🤩🤩🤩wentletraps are gorgeous❤❤loves maddie🥰🥰
G'day Hurriyet 👋🏻🏖️ It was a big episode; I was quite spoiled for the Wentletraps for sure 😁 I remember not finding so many on my last trip to the mangroves, so I guess they are replenished often enough over there! Thank you so much for watching the big adventure 🥰
High Maddie 👋
Neither boring your excursions 🤩 have seen some few interesting finds 🤩, first time i see the cockle "Maoricardium setosum", and the Zool swallow "Pteria lata", beautiful "Solecurtus sulcatus" this one is very similar to our Mediterranean "S,tus strigilatus", pink with two white lines. The small bivalves are tellins and it could be "Tellina chloroleuca" from Australia for sure, this one can reach 5 cm. Interesting too: "Littoraria filosa", "Eunaticina linnaeana" and beautiful "Figuladra bayensis", "Phenacovolva rosea", "Epitonium stigmaticum" and so on 🤩.....
Thank you so much for this beautiful promenade in your company 😍 bye Maddie 👋❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
G'day Francesco 👋🏻🏖️❤️ Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed the trip to the mangroves 😲 I was hoping for more on the way there, but that seaweed pushed all of the shells aside somehow 🥲 Oh wow, so it's your first time seeing Maoricardium setosum and Pteria lata 🤔 it's my first time finding Pteria lata here, but I sometimes find it in the rock pools at the home beach, so you might see it pop up again in a future episode. For Tellina chloroleuca; it could be what I found??? I wonder though... are these little white Tellins already their adult size, or are they juveniles? I'm not sure...this on is about 2cm whenever I see it; it's never close to 5cm 🤔 Food for thought. Ohhh I just looked up your Solecurtus strigilatus 😲 it's quite lovely! Francesco, I know this is a question that you maybe cannot answer, but my dad is going to Spain next month...he doesn't like shells or shelling...but, would you happen to know any Spanish beaches with sea shells? I can maybe nag at him to pick something up for me 😆🤣 Thanks for watching, and for any advice (even if the answer is "I don't know'') 🥰
High Maddie 👋
Have been only once in Spain, near the french border and beaches are exclusively sandy, just good to tan . But I know what we can expect to find in more appropriate shores. My suggestion is to try the south-east littorals, there are more variety, due to a warmer climate and a good presence of endemics with presence of the nearest Senegalese Province. Mediterranean is from millions years supply by the Atlantic, as well in fresh water than in floating veligers of many sea organism; this because the Atlantic currents are dominant and come inside for the upper 200 metres , the left 100 down , is the Mediterranean waters that go out . This is Gibraltar street for sure. Some interesting species appear sometimes in the fish markets too. Hope your dad will have the fantasy to visit those sides 😃 bye Maddie 👋❤❤❤❤❤
Love the Philippine Wenteltrap, such an ornate little shell. Definitely the fav today!❤
G'day Green Thumb Gardener 👋🏻☘️❤️ It's such a wonderful little shell, and the ones in the mangroves are their maximum size; they're just a lovely little mini shell. Thank you so much for watching 🥰
Love the wenteltrapsm and murex. If I was able to colleIct that many I'd be in heaven. Love shelling with you.
G'day Di 👋🏻🏖️ Hehe, those Murexes and Wentletraps are the reason I make the big trip to the mangroves; it's my heaven 😂 Thank you for coming along, and thanks for watching the big adventure 🥰
@@ShellingAdventures It is like being with you.
Hi, Maddie! I've been away in Italy for three weeks. I walked along the beaches on the Adriatic coast. Lots of pebbles, but not many shells though I did find a few cute little ones. You managed to end up with some good finds today after a slow start.
G'day Reet 👋🏻💖 Welcome back from Italy 😲 oh my goodness, I bet it was an amazing trip!! I wish you had've found a beach teeming with shells, but I guess it's all pebbles in a lot of places 😅 still, I few minis is a great souvenir! Thank you for watching the big trip to mangroves 🥰
Hi Maddie I haven’t been around for quite a while but I’m back and I really liked the Nerites that you found. Thank you for sharing your trip with us.
G'day Aussie Dirt Digger 👋🏻🪙💖 It has been a while 😲 How are you doing? Life can get crazy sometimes, or maybe hobbies and interests shift for a while, but it's lovely to see you again. Thank you so much for watching 🥰
Another awesome video, I love it when you go to Hervay Bay
G'day Bonnie Julien 👋🏻🏖️ Aww thank you for your kind words 🙏🏻 I must say, I do like going to Hervey Bay; just so much to find even on a day with so much seaweed covering the beach 🏖️ Thank you so much for watching 🥰
WOW the violet nurite shells were SO pretty! The sunset pair was nice…I’m sure that would clean up well. For not having many shells on the beach you found some beauties! I wonder too where the shells go! They get sucked out then "gone" maybe covered up. Oh all the wentletraps were so nice too!
G'day Roxann 👋🏻🏖️ The strange thing about those Violet Nerites is that I have no idea what makes them purple...is it something in their environment, or are they just that amazing 💜?? I suddenly wish the Wentletraps could be purple as well 😂 Ahh, I'm not sure where the shells went 🤔 they were either covered by sand, or swept back out over the mudflats and covered in sand 😂 either way, they weren't on the seaweed areas of the beach! Thank you so much for watching 🥰
Nice finds Maddie. Love your narration. You're so fun.
G'day Brenda 👋🏻🐚❤️ You are so sweet, thank you for the kind words 🙏🏻 I never really know if my narration could be better or worse 😂 I just say what pops into my head while shelling, though I know other shelling channels will narrative their adventure after the fact...seems like more video editing work to me though 😂 and I just want to have some fun! I digress. Thank you so much for watching 🥰
@@ShellingAdventures Don't ever worry about that because you're so real.
Hello Maddie! At this second, I just came back from vacation, and bought some seashells that I infact found some shells and took them home, but they weren’t the best so my lazy self decided to just go buy some! 😂 Nice video you made also! Can you guess my favorite one? Hint, it’s at the start and is white!
G'day Aria 👋🏻🏖️ Welcome back from your vacation, I'm glad you arrived home safely ❤️! Hehe, it sounds like you had a lovely time; and the shells are exciting too! Do you know which species you found and bought? Hmmm a white shell at the start of this one is your favourite??? Hmmm, I think it's either the Dosinia or the Propeller Arc...am I right or wrong? Let me know 😉 Thank you so much for watching the big adventure 🥰
@@ShellingAdventuresThe first guess is correct actually! It looks so pearly and cute! Kinda like a taco shell but white eh?😂
@@arianguyen4935 Hahaha, a taco shell 🐚 I love that 😂
Hey Maddie! My favourite today was the Laminate Venus clam that was orange that you promptly dumped back on the beach🙄lol. Glad you had a pretty darn good day after all. 😊
G'day Mary 👋🏻💖 Ohhhhahahahaaaa ahhh nooo!!! The orange Lamellate Venus!! I'm sorry for discarding it now 🥲 to me, it looks like a discoloured and worn down shells, but I forget this is also has its own kind of charm 🐚 oops, forgive me 😅 Thanks for watching 🥰
@@ShellingAdventures I was teasing you silly. You are such a lucky person to have such choice! I know what it’s like to want to bring home all of the shells you love. For me, not much space. I’ll send you a photo of my latest trip to the Olympic Pennisula in Washington. Had a pretty good haul after 3 days. You even had me looking for gastro pods. 🐚
@@marysimonetti5243 Ohhhh that is exciting!! I don't usually see shell hauls from anywhere other than Florida or Texas 🌎 yesss, you can message me some photos either to my Facebook Page (link on my video's descriptions and Channel Page) or email, which is info shown on my Facebook Page 👍🏻 ahh, the last time I typed my email into the comments section, I can a lot of people trying to hack into it for some reason 😆 it's not the email connected to me channel login, so I don't know why they bothered! Anyhoo!! Can't wait to see the haul 🐚🐚🐚
Hi Maddie so lovely to meet you on Friday and look for shells together. We managed to find 4 checkered bonnets and a variety of others. Hopefully we meet again.😊 love the wentletrap shells.
G'day Jane 👋🏻🏖️ I was wonderful to see you out there too! I'm absolutely thrilled and relieved that you were able to find the Checkerboard Bonnets that you were looking for 😲 I should have brought one as a backup in case you didn't...but alas, it all worked out! Please tell Micheal that I'm once again sorry that he has to listen to all of these videos with you 😂 he's a lovely guy. Ohh that reminds me, did Gayle talk to you about some places for shelling in NSW? I have never been there and I only know some place names from word of mouth 🤔 but she lives down there and would have had much better advice. I would love to meet you again, I hope you had a fantastic long weekend on the Sunny Coast. Thank you so much for watching the big adventure 🥰
@@ShellingAdventures yes Gayle mentioned where she goes. Michael says Hi Maddie 😁 Decided to stay till Thursday with the hope of finding some nice cowries ( cherry or deer 🤞) might catch up again out there.
@@janedavidson8348 Ohhh I don’t know Jane, I think the next few days are going to have some wild weather. High swell, lots of wind, and a scattering rain; all of it is forecasted to peak on Thursday. I won’t be going. If you do go out…truly, try to stay safe and watch your footing. Keep an eye on each other. Edit: perhaps the very early morning tides would be the best for shelling for you, with an eye to the forecasts.
@@ShellingAdventures thank you. Early morning is looking best 😊
Beautiful shells 🐚 😊
G'day Nikoleta 👋🏻💖 There were some interesting ones this time 🤩 Thank you so much for watching the big adventure 🥰
@SandCoffeeRocks You're welcome ,Maddie 😊. Have a nice, beautiful week 🫠.
Another great video Maddie,
And long one,i love it
Wellllllllll, my 1st fav issssss the Biggenden Banded Snail,
2nd is short spinned murex (i got few of them, and i was sooooo happy, specially the perfect one)
3rd is the murex
4th is the violet nerite
Thank youuu for the long great video Maddie 🎉🎉🎉
G'day Nelly 👋🏻💖 I'm glad you liked the bigger episode 🤩 unfortunately, the next few will be short - it's been rough weather and rougher shelling over the past few weeks 🥲 not a lot around, even after school holidays ended. But onto the shells I found in THIS episode 😂 that Biggenden Banded Snail so good, so sweet and swirly!! Oh wait Nelly, you got some Short-spined Murexes too? Did you find them? How exciting!!! I didn't actually know they washed up over there 🤩 congratulations!! That makes me wonder, do you ever find Scary Murexes too? Ahh, and the Violets Nerites are the final favourite ❤️ I think I'll somehow make Nerites a popular shell with my enthusiasm someday 🤣 Thank you so much for watching 🥰
@@ShellingAdventures ah rough weather, please be careful Maddie,
Yesss, I'm totally agree, tht swirly shell make me fall in love again🤣
Unfortunately not with scary murex😔,(actually i got some murexes but idk the species of it🤣)
faves this week are the violet nurite and the arabian wentletraps
G'day Leslie 👋🏻🏖️ Ohh I'm glad you like the little Violet Nerites too, I sometimes think that maybe only I like them 😅😂 Those Arabic Wentletraps are gorgeous 🤩 a wonderful favourite shell for the adventure. Thank you so much for watching 🥰
My favorites are the Arabic wentletrap and the last violet Nerite
G'day Jan 👋🏻💖 The last Violet Nerite...ahh was that the nice pink one? It was quite lovely with its pattern and shine as well 😍 nothing quite beats the texture of that Arabic Wentletrap though! Thanks for watching the big Hervey Bay adventure 🥰
Morning Maddie, Hope you keep finding lots of shells. I like the whole seashells. Could the ???shell be some sort of Tellin? I will send of a letter soon. You and Ninja take care. TRUDY
G'day Trudy 👋🏻💖 The shelling has been a bit rough everywhere lately, but it will pick back up eventually...until then, there might be some shorter adventures, though not for lack of trying. Haha, I think 100% of everyone also likes the whole shells 😉 that's why I mostly only show intact ones when I can, though some will never be found with their entire tips even when the snails are alive. The mystery shell could be a tellin, but with hundreds of different species that it could be (tellin or otherwise), I didn't feel confident in putting an guess on screen. Any idea which specific species it could be? Aww Trudy, you don't have to send a letter; I know you haven't been feeling well lately, so no need to push yourself to do anything; just rest up. Happy birthday for the other day, I know you didn't want a big deal to be made of it, but I hope you spoiled yourself in some small way. Thanks for watching 🥰
@@ShellingAdventures Hello Maddie, MY PROBLEM IS MY DEPRESSION. GOING OFF MED. GOT YOUR WONDERFUL CARD TODAY. WILL SEND CARD AND LETTER NEXT WEEK. YOU ARE A GREAT ARTIST REALLY. THANK YOU SO MUCH. WILL HAVE LOTS TO TELL YOU. TRUDY
@@trudymcewen9801 Trudy, I am so sorry to hear about your struggles. Please give the medication a chance, and talk to someone, maybe a mental health professional? I know it can't make everything better, but I truly believe it must help if you have the time and effort to put into it. Stay strong!
@@ShellingAdventures Maddie gave the med a chance made me sick so being weened off it. Ativan I will keep as it helps me sleep. Linny is a grief counselor at our church. She cannot help me. The only thing would to be to bring my Bob back to me impossible. I have to help myself Sweetie. Will send card with letter next week. XXOO. TRUDY
@@trudymcewen9801 Again, I am sorry for your struggles, Trudy. Yes, you truly do need to take charge of your own wellness, despite how difficult that can be. You must treat yourself like a friend and help yourself through this; no amount of hoping for anything else will do it 😔. I think it might be a good idea to find a mental health or counseling professional outside of Linny if you don't think her counsel is helping: there is too much history there; sometimes you need a fresh start with someone who doesn't have pre-formed thoughts or bias (on either side) in the matter. I know it doesn't seem like it, but you will get through this.
Hi Maddie! Were you worried about me? I’m so sorry, I forgot to tell you it was cruise time. We had an okay time. We’ve had better but I really missed my grandson! He cut his first tooth while we were gone. I can’t wait to see him! 😊 Boy, the beginning of the video had me worried. 😮 But then you found quite a variety of shells. 🐚🐚🐚 I so wish you could find some big whole precious wentletraps. Maybe next time. My favorites today were the biggendon snails, the violet nerites, girdled periwinkle, and of course rosy spindle! Thank you for the wonderful video Maddie! 🥰🥰🥰
G’day Pam 👋🏻💖 YESSSS!!!! I was worried, especially because your trip was around the exact time Helene made landfall 😭 Here was my thought process: She’s A) taking a break from the super excited shelling lady in Australia and doesn’t need said lady sending badgering messages B) Went on a cruise (I actually did remember that you mentioned one coming up this year). Or C) lost power or was caught up in Helene, and therefore really, really didn’t need the shelling lady to badger her! Conclusion: it was outta my hands until I heard from you 😉😂 but I’m very glad you’re ok, especially with the devastating weather in Florida and the states north of there 😁 Did you get to see your grandson yet? I know I’ll get it right someday; it’s Peyton… right?? I hope all of the family are well over there; I bet they missed you too! If you want to drop me an email about your trip, I’d be happy to hear about it. As for this trip to Hervey Bay, yeah, that seaweed and zero shells for over an hour of walking was rough; I really thought I was making a bad choice/risk to walk all the way to the mangroves with potentially nothing to find. In the end, I was happy with the find, and I even met a shelling couple who recognised me from my videos… because of my black bucket 🤣 it’s very distinctive apparently!! Thank you so much for getting back home safely, and for watching the shelling adventures 🥰
HELLO MADDIE...LOVE FROM COLORADO
G'day Jas 👋🏻💖 Hello again to you in Colorado mountains! Thank you so much for coming along on another seaside shelling adventure 🥰
Hey Maddie. Question. Have you ever been shelling to that coral reef area you mentioned at Harvey Bay?
How far away are you from the Great Barrier Reef? Have you ever been there? I wonder if there would be any good shelling there
G'day Natalia 👋🏻🏖️ That's a big double up of questions! Firstly, the coral reef is underwater 🌊 and I'm not really equipped to take us shelling offshore 🥲 even in my local area, there are small reefs where the shells wash ashore from, but I'm not too interested in going swimming 😂 not with my eyesight, athletic skills, and the sharks!
As for you next question, I pulled some information from Google because I know the magnitude of the Great Barrier Reef, but it's interesting to see the numbers: the Great Barrier Reef, situated off the northeastern coast of Australia, stretches for 1,429 miles over an area of approximately 133,000 square miles. It's BIG and also underwater 🌊 and a collection of hundreds of reefs. Yes, the shelling would be amazing there, but I'm vastly unequipped for it, and many areas of it are protected. how far away is it from me? Hmm, without also going out sea, the southern most point of the GBR is a 6 hour drive away, and the northern most tip is a 30 hour drive away 😂 its big! Oh, I already said that! But there are a lot of great shells that can wash up to Australia from reefs and protected zone, but I'm looking at going at least 12 hours of driving north to reach a good spot, or further. I'd love to do it someday, but I'd need to make a lot more money from RUclips first 😂! Thank you so much for watching 🥰
Hi, I love your videos.
Do you ever see snakes when you’re in the mangrove?
G'day Audrey 👋🏻🏖️ Awww gosh, thank you so much 😲 and so far, I haven't seen anything except bugs and snails in the mangroves... But I'm very aware that other creatures can live there; turtles, estuarine crocodiles (though I don't know if they've been sighted at this beach), stingrays at high tide, and snakes of course are possible because it's so close to the bush. I'm hoping never to see the dangerous animal though 😅 and certainly, there is no need to tempt fate. Honestly, I'd be walking around in the bush to find land snails if I wasn't so worried about snakes, venomous spiders and insects, and toxic plants. Isn't Australia a fun place 🤣? Thanks for watching 🥰
Do you have "Hermit Crab Shell" ?
G'day Mario 👋🏻🐚 That's a bit of a tough question to answer... There are a lot of shells in the world, but none of them are specifically called a "Hermit Crab Shell" but a hermit crab 🦀 can use many different species of shells as their home. I see a lot of hermit crabs at the beach with different kinds of shells homes. I'm not sure if that answers your question 😅 but a "Hermit Crab Shell" sounds like something a store would sell as a product, rather than saying what species the shell actually is. Again, I don't know if that helps 🥲 Thank you so much for watching 🥰
Did you know that i watch your videos to make seashells in Minecraft?
G'day Mario 👋🏻🐚 I had no idea 😉 do you make big seashell sculptures out of the Minecraft blocks? That would be pretty cool 😎 Thank you so much for watching the videos while gaming on in Minecraft 🥰
