Space X takes a trajectory over the Atlantic Ocean in case something goes wrong not towards Texas. Plus, fighters from lackland were scrambling last night right after that.

    • @JamesOberg

What the halo-spitter missions do is 90 minutes after taking off from Florida, after circling Earth once and deploying their payloads. The upper stage comes right across southern Texas west to east, fires its engine briefly FORWARD to slow down, and then slips harmlessly into the atmosphere over the southern Indian Ocean.

Just saw this in phx an hour ago. Looked like a plane light in a thin cloud then the cloud turned into a ring like that. Realized there was no visible clouds in the sky. The light disappeared and came back appearing the same way in a fog but no ring the second time. 5 others saw this.
Assuming we saw it as it was heading toward our direction based on what we saw and how this video shows the ring. If this isn’t clear I’m happy to explain better but yeah! It wild bizarre looking and feeling but who knows. I’m just here to relate and wonder 😂🫡
Editt* I read about the launch from Florida tonight. Couldn’t find any details of direction of the rocket and I don’t know much about any of them and their paths beyond that lol.
but the light we saw was moving east and completely across the sky in and out of our view a few times but headed the same path east soooo and again we are in phx az. The launch was Florida.

It was the rocket exhaust being light up my the sun and radiation in the high atmosphere. Low pressure at high altitude causes the cloud to dissipate and turn into a miles wide haze. The corona discharge finds a conductive path through the densest part of the unstable gas. Causing pulses. Like aurora borislis.
