Best steelhead/salmon recipe was on Lief's steelhead catch and cook. Had to make a few alterations, but my wife doesn't want salmon any other way now. Hope you had him cook that one you bonked.
WOW! Great video! I got almost as excited as Marlin when he hooked his MONSTER, I was so afraid that bad boy was gonna find a way off the hook. He was a fighter for sure. And then to see him with his battle scars, he is and was a worthy opponent. Hat tip to PNWFishing, I enjoy his channel also. These videos just get my old blood flowing. That is a beast of a buck. I did a few of that size in Lake Ontario tribs the last few seasons. I could not imagine a 25 pound salt run. You guy truly are lucky to live out west. Great video. Marlin with the Big Daddy Kane reference 🏴☠️☝️💯😁✊
Do you guys ever do like subscriber suggestions if so I would love to see you guys catch some Sockeye or catch a steelhead on a jake lure. I grew up in Bellingham Washington I used to slay steelhead with my dad all day long on Blue Fox Spinners and Jake lures sometimes we would use salmon eggs inside a piece of panty hose so you can continuously keep reusing the eggs since they won't fall off or get ate. Cheers guys and tight lines!
The reason I ask is because I've had smaller stlhd weighed on a certified scale and they have been a pound to a pound and a half more...I fish in Cali on the trinity and the mad and in my experience the fish run smaller.

Editing is interesting. Found this video cause of a random Leif vid I missed (the partner to this vid). Y'all seemed so excited for that insane fish on his video but you seem so disheartened here. It's not always about landing a "best" dude. It was kinda a let down seeing how let down you were. Kinda highlighted by the other youtube dude freaking out with excitement for you and getting great shots of the triumph of landing an absolute monster like that.
Why the hell would you try to beat a fish with the net? That's cruel. And especially to rip it's gills out. I've never heard of a fish "tasting better" if you drain the blood. The meat doesn't have any blood vessels in it... So I don't understand that part.
Then you have not done research on how the blood will rot the flesh quicker and the eggs should not have blood in them if you want good bait.
