What an era...what a champion. We had such an amazing world class Belgian team and La Vilette competing at the highest level, beating the Borussia Düsseldorf. I began playing quite late at the age of 13 and reached the 1st national league, triggered by this inspirational champion.
Being able to play with him, watch him live and even had dinner with him and some other top players was amazing. A true table tennis legend and crazy performer on the court.
4:40 I just watched this whole match and I was gasping for air laughing! This man is a frickin' Legend!
I'm SO glad he got that gag with climbing over the barriers to work in the last point XDD

un des plus grand joueurs de tous les temps !
t'es fou ou quoi; il n'avait ni revers ni service; uniquement des tchos, tchas et des tchis pour déconcentrer l'adversaire; on l'a surpris à mouiller la balle, lever la main pour dire let quand il ne sait pas remettre un service; il pince la balle au service; il mettait du chocolat sur l'essuie main de l'adversaire , faisait pipi dans les douches du côté de son adversaire, téléphonait en anonyme à 5 heures du matin avant d'affronter Waldner ou wang liqin pour le déconcentrer... euh qu'est ce qu'il faisait encore.... ah oui, pendant les tournois, dans les vestiaires avant les rencontres, il mettait du Julio Iglesias à fond à sa radio pour déconcentrer toujours et encore ses adversaires. Son classement réel devrait être débutant à aspirant.
