    I’ve got a loin of smoked cod… I will probably have it with mash potatoes, green runner beans and chervil sauce, but your looks good as well so I may cut the fish in half and try it tomorrow..😋

    Meal fit for a king! I'm going to have a cold one with black beans, onions, garlic, brown rice, and topped with lashings of Cholula hot sauce. I hope your smoked cod don't get the response that the steamed salmon did. LOL! Thank's for the cooking tips Paul, I might have to get me a halogen oven. Take care, Ossie

    A very Welsh meal that mate! I had it when I was in Llandudno. I find restaurants in Wales do a lot more meat and two veg than you get down south, and stir fries, authentic Japanese and Thai food i couldn't find a lot of. My mate asked me what do I fancy for dinner one night and I said spag bol and tilted his head and squinting his eyes at me as if to say you actually eat that?! 😃 but yes very healthy meal that mate can't beat you boil potatoes in a bit of meat or fish and some veg on the side, you know you had a good meal after that 👍

    Good afternoon Paul! Thanks for sharing this great meal idea. I can readily find Salted Cod at the Commissary and Markets around me, but I have never seen Smoked Cod. I usually oven roast New Potatoes, but your method does cut the fat...um...until you added that yummy butter. lol. I wonder how a dill sauce would taste on the Cod? That was a fine meal...yes, sir...a very fine meal.

    • @007vauxhall
      @007vauxhall  6 лет назад

      Yes, Smoked Cod is nice, don't see it that often here either really, always Haddock.......but it seems more popular lately...dill sauce would go well with it, I tend not to over do it on sauces etc with Smoked fish, only un-smoked or white fish.....very enjoyable.....many thanks Todd.

    Looks delicious, I've always made my salmon by just placing it on the tin foil and letting it bake. Do you feel that making a pouch out of the tin foil keeps more flavor in the fish? I also drizzle some olive oil over the fish.

    • @007vauxhall
      @007vauxhall  6 лет назад

      It seems to steam better like this, keeping moisture in, along with flavour........olive oil is a good thing to add, I have added water to it too.....works well.....thanks for watching :-)

    We’re familiar with “lashings” of gravy... Would you describe this as “boatloads” of butter? 😀

    I don’t see why people still boil the crap out of vegetables. Buy yourself a cheap 2 tier hob steamer from Tesco, you have much more control, leaves much more flavour behind in the veg,you can steam all the meals veg in one hit instead of using lots of pans, and even uses much less water. No brainier for me... never looked back.
    Could even steam your fish in it sir.
