I can do all this on a 7x4 pool table (or could I am old now) but on a 12x6 it is a whole new ball game his timing and touch is spectacular and often beyond words.
July 23 84 what a year to be born. 80s n 90s era for kids was so much better. World's gone to shit these days. People was interested in time travel to go to future I'd go back in time 🤣
This was nice to see that whole frame. I was getting goosebumps when jimmy was on the colours cos everyone knows what happens at the pink and black. Legendary stuff from a golden player.
I get a bit confused when people say Stephen Hendry brought a new attacking style of snooker to the game.Don't get me wrong he took the bar to a new level with his consistency and will to win but you can't get more attacking and fluid than a prime Jimmy White before Hendry even came along.Hendry was by far a greater winning machine I get that but Jimmy was playing shots nobody could play in his era.
How to upstage a 147 by Jimmy White !! Just an incredible talent. Just set the game alight ! Pink and black just genius 🙏 Wonderful to hear Jack Karnehm again. Perfect commentary. ‘Fantabulous !’ It certainly was 🙌
Jimmy was the most attacking player on the circuit. He had a good safety game, but he would try to win a frame in 1 visit, just like most player's today. Back then there was only a few really attacking player's. Alex, Jimmy, Kirk, Tony Drago. Jimmy was a joy to watch back then. So young and fearless. A really popular player, the crowds loved him, everyone I knew loved him. He took Alex's crown as the People's Champion. A great player. He's won 10 ranking titles. That's more than Cliff Thoburn, Terry Griffith's, Dennis Taylor, Shaun Murphy, Ken Doherty, Kyren Wilson, Shaun Maguire. Most of those player's won 1 world title, yet Jimmy was a much better player. GO ON JIMMY. Jimmy 21 years old winning the masters. He was only 19 when he got to the semi final of the world championship in 1982 and should have beaten Alex, but Alex pulled off that break which is up there with Ronnie's 92 as the greatest break ever, especially when you consider it was to stay in the world semi finals. 1 miss and Jimmy would have been in the final. I believe if Jimmy had beaten Alex, he would of potted Ray Reardon off the table and won the world title in 1982.
Боже, как же приятно смотреть старые матчи, переживаешь и восторгаешься игрой, будто бы они играют прямо сейчас. Кстати в этом матче Кирку удалось сделать максимум 147.
Poor Jimmy despite having the talent he only ever won 2 Majors in this years masters and the UK Championship in 1992 I think.6 times world runner up is a shame really because he could have won 2 of those so easily especially the last final in 95 but he'll be a legend as long as Snooker exists.
When Jimmy's eye was in and his confidence up he was near unplayable. It really is a testament to just how good Hendry was that he managed to hold Jimmy at bay so many times. Kirk was no also ran either, flamboyant, great shot maker and more than capable of making a break. Many hope of course Jimmy might just find a bit of real form and have a final crack at the WC, he still has the talent he can still make the shots, a little confidence, a bit of concentration and a bit of luck and who knows. I would really settle for a weekly tv show Jimmy and guest, a couple of friendly frames with a few entertaining shots with like players, Ronnie, Judd etc, maybe best of 3 fun frames.
I think Jimmys problem was nerves sometimes the pressure got to him but when it was off like at the end of this frame he could do things nobody else could.
@@steviegbcool Best of it is despite his poor form he is able to not only recreate all the naughty snooker shots but is still more than capable of finding us new ones. I was an Alex fan, sure not the greatest of people but for naughty snooker there was only Alex. Then came along Jimmy the young pretender who I had heard of long before he hit the circuit and thought no way Alex is the boss. It wasn't too long before he won me over and he continues to be a firm favourite. Your right he does seem to lose it a little but win or lose I will watch whatever. its either that or miss one of those magic moments.
Pure class.. If the likes of 'Jimmy' n 'Alex' would of had the commitment and restraint (off the table) of the likes of 'Davies'. I'm sure they would of completely dominated the era for years. Amazing to watch still..
Yeaaa Naaaa Ronnie O Sullivan Is Still Greatest Genius Ever I'm Sure Everyone AgreeS With That By Now Ha!!! I'm A Blackpool Sausage But Hey That's Ok Ha!!! Top Of The Night To Youse 🤫😅
Drinking heavy ,staying up all night partying ,and a serious coke habit stopped Jimmy winning at least one world title .A great natural talent all the same though .
"Just look at the stuff on that.....words escape me - absolutely fantabulous."
Karnehm truly was an underrated gem of a commentator.

“Aw good luck mate”
This was the year I was born,1984. It’s amazing that Jimmy White is still playing, good for him!

Prime Jimmy was so excellent. Remember watching this over and over again as I have it on video tape 👍🏻. What a memory

Spot on
The original naughty snooker player, love Jimmy!
Alex Higgins beat him to that accolade. Both legends on and off the table though.
That table is lovely and the snooker aint too shabby either..
Jimmy White, the most fluent snooker player to ever hold a cue
This match one of the best ever along with higgins v white in 1982 pure snooker at its very best!!!!
Jimmy’s bridge hand is so far away and yet still very accurate. His natural play. Awesome talent and still! Legend

One off the best matches i have seeing, it had everything
What great mate this Kirk must have been….
One of the greatest matches of all time

It's funny how you already know the outcome but still worry haha
Great match this, my greatest memory of this is Kirk's 147. Great days. Proper characters back then..
Two great, entertaining players.
White was just as much a showman as Higgins
pure artistry from Jimmy
A True Genius 👏👏👏👏👏
Nice table

The last world final he was in was 94👍

A relief seeing the table without the sponsor at the back.
I know because I was there, also I've been to every snooker match played in the world since 1947
Well, I slept with Joe Davis. And Fred.
Kirk Stevens was such a super star back then.
Didnt he make a 147 in this match? Its on here somewhere
@@SunnyvaleTrailerParkSupervisor I know he made a Masters maximum. Was it in this match? Dunno...
It was the frame before this one you just watched.
@@petermcmanus4895 Wow talk about stealing momentum... You go Jimmy

Yes true but then they would maybe not been as good as they were/are. In such cases flamboyance is not a tool in the bag, it often is the bag.
& that was the birth of the whirl wind
By Christ he could hit a cue ball sweet. He’s still not bad on his day!
Cmon folks. 8:07! Look at him!
*Kirk is* ❤️
8:07
Such a shame he never won a world title but his skill and expertise will never be matched I think, even Ronnie o,sullivan would agree I think 🤔
Apparently afterwards they had few lines together in the hotel suite!
The AST on this has to be under 10 secs, before the rocket we had the whirlwind😃
Christ Jimmy, hurry up will you? Referee still had time to get the balls back up before your next shot.
Of course back then the tables were almost square
6:18 Lucky no???
In snooker yes and no, any good luck is equally matched by a fair share of bad luck so the odd fluke you cannot really count.
Bloody hell the whole audience has corona
everyone's a smoker LOL
Should be in 4:3...
Jimmy went on to beat terry Griffiths in the final.
Knowing what we know now, it’s safe to say this match was sponsored by cocaine… and the results are pretty epic, let’s be honest. 🤣
Yeaaa Naaaa Ronnie O Sullivan Is Still Greatest Genius Ever
I'm Sure Everyone AgreeS With That By Now Ha!!!
I'm A Blackpool Sausage But Hey That's Ok Ha!!!
Top Of The Night To Youse 🤫😅
Kirk sitting there smoking 🚬.
Money games robbed Jimmy the great White of the world titles. He should have stuck to professional tournaments snooker only. So sad
Jimmy was great but he just could never handle the world championship finals. Nerve went every time😒
Drinking heavy ,staying up all night partying ,and a serious coke habit stopped Jimmy winning at least one world title .A great natural talent all the same though .
Nice but oof, messy at the same time
