I would own one if it was 3840x1600. I know it doesn't seem like much higher, but that difference in clarity would make it's use in reading smaller gauges in MSFS2020 significant.
Completely understandable, I can definitely see what you mean regarding intricate details like those in MSFS. I think it would either have to be a resolution bump (as you mentioned) or dropping the monitor size down to something like 38", but of course the size is part of the appeal.
If you want one today, I bought a Samsung S90C 55 inch TV. It allows for a 21x9 aspect in game mode which you use for PC. I change my resolution on Nvidia to 3840x1600 with 144hrtz refresh. The refresh is fine because even my 4090 has trouble pushing AAA games over 144 FPS at that resolution at high settings. This gives me about a 48 to 50 inch widescreen display with black bars on top and bottom, but since it is oled the black bars are completely black and disappear. The TV has VRR for AMD and Nvidia, and of course all the other TV bells and whistles. The challenge is that it has ABL which dims a screen over time, but that only affects you when browsing typically a move of the screen immediately brings to full brightness. Its no problem when gaming. And if you console game it looks fantastic with 2.1 HDMI ports. This TV has the new Samsung panel and is brighter than the LG monitor. In fact, I've found TVs used as monitors seem to get more bright than monitors. I assume that's because monitors are scared of RMA due to potential screen burn in.
Picked this monitor up about a month ago when i saw it on sale at $1299 US. Just Wow!!! Coming from a LG 34" ultrawide, several years old. I did adjust my behavior when it comes to leaving it on. I manually put windows into sleep or turn-off the monitor completely, not taking any chances for burn-in. No issues with the dpi for my day-to-day work stuff. My eyesight isn't all that great so it's not an issue for me.
I have close to 3,000 hours on mine and think the hate this monitor gets is unwarranted. While it’s not a monitor for office work (the lower pixel density is evident here) it excels at literally everything else. 21:9 is magic. Not too wide, not too tall. It truly feels like the sweet spot. Movies and games look amazing. Motion is fast and fluid. There’s virtually no input lag. The “limited brightness” is a non-issue and I often turn the brightness down. OTB color accuracy is great. No evidence of burn in after 3,000 hours. HDR performance is fine. I doesn’t get as bright and vibrant as other monitors, but it still looks amazing. I’ll argue that LG over optimized this monitor, which should make it reliable for years to come.
Hey, I've been really considering buying my first OLED ultrawide, but my main concern is definitely burn-in. Seeing your comment made me feel quite relieved as you've used your monitor for 3,000 hours and haven't run into any burn-in troubles. May I ask what precautions you take to prevent burn-in? Things like a screensaver after x minutes of idle, certain wallpapers, etc.? Clearly what you're doing is working so I definitely want to follow the same precautions if I end up buying one for myself. Thanks!
3000 hours sound like a lot, but ultimately, depending on average numbers of hours of screentime per week, this may be as little as around 1 year of use. Even though I am looking forward to a 5k2k newer gen version of this screen. Burn in does remain a concern to me. My current primary display has about 15k hours of screentime, roughly 6 years old. My secondary displays, up to over 30k hours, up to roughly 15 years old. Generally speaking, monitors are extremely durable and allow for repurposing quite well. Whether or not OLED will maintain this same sort of durability, remains to be seen.
This is a nice monitor but here’s the issue for me. I have an LG 38 inch 3860x1600 ultrawide that is the sweet spot with a very good curve. It will be really hard to upgrade to this just for a bigger size and a crazier curve.
I had that returned it in the micro center return. And got a 42-in LG OLED C2. The only way I could ever go back is if that alien were 38 was qdoled and frankly, I really hope they make that because that would be probably the best monitor you could have
@@ToGrimmToWin I really LOVE my 38 ultrawide. I will use it until I can’t use it anymore. I would love for either LG or Alienware to make a micro led because I mainly use it for work. I would be fine with oled also but I’m still sketchy on burn in especially using it with static images.

Probably a bit the way it's set up in this video, I could definitely improve that but space is an issue. They still sound great though, and most of the time I use headphones haha
@@ScorpioTech Actually I have the same space issue where I can only place speakers behind monitor. I am using small speaker rn and looking to upgrade to bigger speakers, but worried about how the space limitation affects the sound quality.
@@imhappy2777 if I'm completely honest, I don't notice any difference like this - but I'm no audiophile. It works for me and I'm satisfied with it considering the limitations I have, it's great for movies, games and music
@@ScorpioTech Good to hear that, enjoy!
It would be best if you wrote your settings here for me, it would be really nice of you, schörge contrast, etc., thank you very much
I ordered mine recently, still waiting for it. Have many doubts as reviews are sometimes confusing, but when you say it’s amazing if the primary focus is gaming, then I am sure i’ll like it. My pc at home is for games and entertainment, i have a work pc so I don’t plan on doing anything else than movies or games on this pc
Do you have any tips for me i tried to conect my ps4 and the sound isn’t coming through the monitor
Hello, I really love your wallpaper, could you please tell me where I can get it? I have the same monitor
In your video, when showing the windows desktop, your taskbar looks way more transparent than I have figured out how to make mine. Can you or anyone tell me how to do that?
Is the reeactive light from the back of the monitor from from philips hue?
What’s a good way to convince him to get it?
I may couldn’t follow or hear, but what is about console gaming? Would you also recommend it for PS5? Thank you
can this monitor be wall mounted?
I just bought one on best buy, after going through the membership program 1000 + 50! , totally worth it at that price. Colors set on vivid, use dark theme to avoid the white rebalancing - the text is not great and the white rebalancing when using lots of white space is annoying, and so yes I have a second monitor for heavy text work if that is your job, in my case I use much smaller IPS wide screen right below it, a bit of work in setting up. But otherwise awesome if you want gaming / movies in amazing color and immersion !
What kind of monitor you used for text work?
@@feli4553 its actually a great gaming monitor too, just not oled so better text and slightly smaller LG UltraGear QHD 34-Inch Curved Gaming Monitor 34GP83A-B,
@@feli4553 one note stacked they are pretty tall (33 inches veritcal) so angle them down at me using a ergo chair leaning back with foot rest
what do you use for the ambient light behind the monitor ?
hi what monitor light bar are u using?
Is there any monitor big like this (lower than 55") and that is NOT ultrawide with 1440p? I can't find it ;(
I got this only for gaming and Samsung G9 Oled for work/office use.
What keybord is that?
Hello, you can send me the best settings for gaming for a good picture, thank you very much, greetings Andy
I love LG's quality. My 29" IPS Wide Screen 1080p has lasted 10 years now, but I'll wait for ASUS's 4k 240Hz OLED PG32UCDM.
Completely agree, the PG32UCDM is shaping up to be a fantastic monitor! Lovely specs.
Don't wait by it now it's on discount
Is the lighting behind your monitor thats matchint the screen from the monitor stand or a seperate led strip?
Hey awesome video! Could you link the wallpaper by chance? It looks amazing!
Thank you so much! Hopefully you mean this one! Wallpaper engine: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2495306543
