My step-father backpacked around there around 20 yrs back and ever since I saw the photos and heard the stories, I have fancied a trip myself. It’s on my very short list of places to go once the mortgage is finished so I’m hoping to do this in the next few years 🤞

Yeh the rod isn’t the same, but it’s a good excuse to buy another rod (or two) 😆🫣 I’ve ordered the NGT 6 piece, 6’ carbon travel rod, that should be fun to use. I do have a couple of other light rods as backup too. Wind is still an issue here too, not so much rain though, and off to Scotland next week for ten nights ⛺️+🎣=😎

Happy belated birthday! Well don on the PB wrasse too! If you're having bother with anchoring the tripod to stop it blowing over... Take an empty dry bag with you. Fill it with water when there and hang it under the tripod. Empty when done, so you're not carrying any extra weight with you...

Cracking wrasse Danielle. Goes to show that you don't need all the whistle and bells. Just a basic rig set up produces the fish. The sound went belly up for a while 🤣but that's OK. Your excitement did the talking. Always a sad moment when a favourite rod breaks. Thanks for sharing, once again.

With your efforts in catching what others fail to get you are showing it can be done on easy light tackle. The Wrasse are a dominant fish that grow to a fair size and you caught not one but two clonkers well done Lass stay safe and tight lines

I’ve never eaten Wrasse Rob, so no idea what it’s like. Always catch and release for wrasse when I’m fishing and they never seem to get gut hooked
