Getting rid of the Community Shield is literally the dumbest thing ever. Its 1 game, with 2 teams...Thats it. And its a pre season game. It´s not even in the middle of the league. Plus you get a trophy if you win it.
Please make a video about the BeNeLiga, an idea by the Dutch and Belgian football associations to essentially combine the Eredivisie and the Eerste Klasse A into one pan-national league format consisting of 18 clubs, as they think it's the only way to play a competitive role in a European footballing climate which leans heavily towards the Big 4,5 Leagues. Similar ideas have been proposed throughout Europe, for example in Norway and Sweden, and Austria and Switzerland, and although there are definitely more bonus points, the main reason behind all these ideas seems to be desperation. How can smaller football associations compete with the footballing elite? By combining forces. Definitely an interesting situation.
I usually don't comment, but that is a weird idea. Since both leagues have over 10 teams, do they just have one mass league or do they just have a playoff to who remains in the top division. It may be a weird idea and don't me wrong, I like it actually, but the complex decision of who gets into the top division if they were to merge
@@joshrumble7004 the idea is: 10 Dutch clubs and 8 Belgian ones for every season, with promotion/relegation being country-based and the Eredivisie and Eerste Klasse A serving as the second tier. So 1 Dutch and 1 Belgian club would get relegated each season, and then replaced with the Eredivisie and Eerste Klasse A winners. There would also be one promotion/relegation playoff per country. This does mean you can technically finish tenth and still get relegated.
"How can smaller football associations compete with thr footballing elite" Now imagine what it's like in African football, so much potential, clubs with history, but bad managment and lack of infrastructure.
They don’t need to scrap the League Cup. Instead they could mandate that the Premier League clubs have to name a minimum amount of players aged 21 or under in their match day squad. Starting at 12 in round two and going down to 2 by the final. The semi final could be reduced to one leg played at Wembley which would help too. This would allow smaller teams to “giant kill” the bigger teams while giving youth players vital senior match experience.
@@geraldoh9484 how about the clubs that taking part in europe should just be given the options to participate in the league cup or not. And if the clubs decide to participate, the required youth players participation should be enacted also.

Let's help the "Big ones" to keep getting bigger and further enlarge the divide between "big rich" and "small poor". Football is getting ruined bit by bit the last years. Shame.
You know what, hearing the whole thing I actually like some of the ideas. Of course we all don't want 6 teams to have the power to say no to certain things like takeovers. But there are some valid points like safe standing seats, capping away ticket prices and funding of EFL clubs. However, the concessions needed to be made are the pay per view style which with Peacock tv, no one is going to pay for it, and that voting system is absolutely whack, if they make concessions to the plan, I might approve of it.
That was their point though, they threw in all these glossy things that would attract support, especially as the EFL clubs are desperate and hoped they could do what is basically a coup on the PL, the Big 6 would basically own the league and end all challenges to them, they'd earn more money through marketing their own games, they'd earn more money from finishing higher over 3 years, they'd make it so the revenue pot was not fairly shared so they'd get more money. Meaning every other PL club would see their finances fall further and further away from the big 6 and the chances of getting near them would get slimmer and slimmer, turning the league into similarly financially dominated league like Serie A, La Liga etc. where the money is not fairly distributed. Basically they were giving you a slap up dinner for free whilst secretly they would be stealing your house from you whilst you were distracted. Man Utd and Liverpool don't give a fuck about the EFL going under, or fans, this was all just to get themselves more money ensure their clubs could basically never fail and ensure that another Chelsea or Man City could come along to challenge them. I wonder whether the proposed takeover of Newcastle accelerated these plans, because you'd have another well funded club with a big fan base and lots of potential that could challenge them and they wanted to make sure it never happened again.
Most of teams revenue comes from the TV deal. The EFL currently gets 8% of the TV deal. It would on average increase 17% in TV revenue to 25%. Conversely Premier TV revenues would drop 17%. This should in theory bring competition closer together. It should definitely make the lower clubs stronger. It is something that should at least get both sides talking.
Love your content - I just wanted to mention you sound slightly supportive of scrapping the League Cup if money was better distributed to the lower leagues. I do agree with the idea of scrapping the EFL Cup. I have always believed it's a tournament which carries little prestige over the FA Cup and is a strain on the schedule of English football. Spain, Italy and Germany have one prestigious competition which anyone can win(Copa del Rey in Spain, Coppa Italia in Italy and DFB Pokal in Germany) and the teams from there tend to dominate European competitions. As a liverpool supporter i actually like alot of whats in this plan, my biggest issues are with the pay per view style matches and obviously the top 9 having more voting rights. Its was not that long ago when liverpool were not regular top 6 contenders and at some times we were even mid table mediocrity and the thought of the larger clubs proposing they get more voting power wouldve infuriated me then and rightfully infuriates supporters of smaller clubs now. For instance, the idea of man united getting veto power over whether FSG Wouldve gotten to buy liverpool makes my blood boil. By what right do the larger clubs get to have final say over whether brighton gets a new billion dollar owner... its a blatant power grab to ensure other smaller clubs dont become the next man city and thereby threaten the established order.
Big picture was bargaining power kind of deal where the big clubs wanted voting rights for them for which they will pay the money to lower league clubs . If the the positives will go for vote the they will accept only if they get their demands first or else big clubs reject redistribution deal if put seperately
Lower tier league teams are getting money at the expense of teams outside top 6. In my opinion, what they tried here is a bargaining technique where you get too unreasonable so that even when you lower the stakes slightly, it seems like a win. Teams outside top 6 in premier league, that votes against project big picture will be under pressure from lower leagues to accept some kind of deal, unless ofcourse the government floats enough funds. Abolishing of League cup and reducing the number of teams should be discussed as a different agenda and should not be mixed with rest of the reforms. As it is a long standing demand.
The 18 team structure Distribution of revenue Elimination of efl cup ( not community shield in my opinion) Thi improvment of fan culture ( ticket prices and stands ) Should be implemented the rest should be rejected
The first quick thing they could do is increase the 8% revenue pushed downward to a higher amount. 12% or 15%. That would be a simple quick thing to do.
I thought it was fair as a sort of a prototype, just have a proper negotiation with the FA and PL clubs to make the power distribution fairer and that's it! It would have changed the face of English football for the better, helped the downtrodden League 2, 1 and the Championship to sustain itself and make the women's game (which has proven to be quite popular) into a proper league with actual opportunity of viewership...Heck, even the humongous amount of games would reduce to a lesser amount, and the players would be fittter!
Why not choose a league winner from the big six through a lucky draw? Like there won't even be a need for playing matches or buying players 100% profit
Project Big Picture expectations: Reduce the league teams to save EFL clubs. Reality: Top 6 clubs run the Premier league and scrap other cup competition to fill their pockets. I knew this will not sit well for any football fan and I'm glad it was shutdown by other Premier League clubs. I always hated the Glazers and they gave me more reasons to hate them even more.
Wait but your missing if the smaller clubs pick the broadcast rights of the matches playing against the bigger clubs. That is at least 12 matches a season. With the cap being 8 matches I think FSG is trying to be fair to the smaller clubs (or at least give the appearance of fairness). Granted some fans of the larger may not be interested in watching those matches if they have to pay but I think committed fans of the bigger clubs, ones who don’t miss a single match, will add revenue to the smaller clubs. I think the smaller clubs currently in the Premier League will create a counter proposal that will address the issues of international viewership/popularity. The current season for PL clubs is overloaded and all the clubs agree on this fact, but it does benefit newly promoted clubs and ones not in European football on a domestic tournament level. It’s complicated because for the bigger clubs with great youth programs they are able to rotate their players and provide experience for their youngsters. These young players have opportunities to win silverware and earn a spot on the 1st team in the PL and Europe. IDK. I won’t be able to offer a solution. All I know is that the December-January schedule of the PL is ludicrous. I enjoy it but players need to rest. We all win when every player is healthy and fit to play. The league suffers if the best players can’t play.
I have been preaching since day one to get rid of league cup, there's literally already FA cup so why the extra competition that majority of fans won't be watching and bigger clubs won't be prioritising.
This idea could’ve been named “The rich get richer” and public perception would still be the same as what it is right now. This would ruin the prem for year and years to come.
Easy solution. The premier league donates 10% of its annual income and the collective parachute payments to the Football league. Player should have in their contact of wage cut if their team is related. If not, its the clubs fault.
Not gonna pay extra to watch few matches on top of my subscription for EPL matches from hotstar, championships league subscription from Sony and local cable subscription. I would rather watch highlights!!!!
While there are some merits in the idea(the 75-25 and the 20 pound cap) the idea as a whole is still a contender for the dumbest idea ever conceived in football(with the voting idea being easily the worst concept in football).
Doesn't FFP prevent one solution to the problem of some of these teams? It prevents their rich owners from pumping money into the team. Or has that been relaxed for now? Why should Premier League teams give money to a team owned by a billionaire?
If the Premier League is smart they will reform otherwise the Americans will colonize the entire league structure worse then the Qatari or Chinese ever could. This was a warning but also a list of complaints. PPV for select games, are these people crazy!
some of this is fine, Scapping the League Cup for example is perfectly ok. why have 2 english cups? most countries have 1, mine at least does, it has the league and then 1 cup and the "Charity match" at the start. so yeah, scrap the league cup, keep the rest.
Premier league is already run by the top 6 clubs, otherwise the Newcastle takeover would have gone through and the premier league would not be being sued due to anti competition laws, don't get me wrong Newcastle will still lose because the premier league will favour keeping the top 6 happy to try to keep them from breaking off to the Super league even quicker but the whole league is a disgrace.
Oh god, please no American's involved in football reforms. As an American were good at Liberty and Freedom as your currently witnessing. Football not so much.
The big teams have a excuse now to break away from the premier league and join a european super league, they gonna get what they want one way or they other
It is just like the name says. It helps the small clubs, but in a bigger picture it will ruin the Premier League for decades.
Getting rid of the Community Shield is literally the dumbest thing ever. Its 1 game, with 2 teams...Thats it. And its a pre season game. It´s not even in the middle of the league. Plus you get a trophy if you win it.

Please excuse my misspelling of you’re, thank you.
Thank god it was rejected! The only ones benefited were the big clubs (im an arsenal fan as well)
Using a big event to force a major change that otherwise no one would have accept.... Where did i saw that before ?
Bar the special treatment to the big 6, its not actually a terrible way to go about change
bring back the fifa career modes on the new game
The biggest mistake that Project Big Picture did was releasing the information to the public.
I think elf cup should be only for EFL teams not premier league
Totally agree been saying that for ages.
Easy solution. The premier league donates 10% of its annual income and the collective parachute payments to the Football league.
Player should have in their contact of wage cut if their team is related. If not, its the clubs fault.
Go Canada!!! 🇨🇦
Not gonna pay extra to watch few matches on top of my subscription for EPL matches from hotstar, championships league subscription from Sony and local cable subscription. I would rather watch highlights!!!!
Thank god it was denied .
Causing monopoly
While there are some merits in the idea(the 75-25 and the 20 pound cap) the idea as a whole is still a contender for the dumbest idea ever conceived in football(with the voting idea being easily the worst concept in football).
The rest of the proposal barring the 9 permanent team voting rights and veto crap can be acceptable.
Doesn't FFP prevent one solution to the problem of some of these teams? It prevents their rich owners from pumping money into the team. Or has that been relaxed for now?
Why should Premier League teams give money to a team owned by a billionaire?
I'm the fourth person to like the video.
I think.
Nah, l am
@@demainor lol sometimes it just glitches.
Abolish the league cup. I only like that
The Americans at ManU and Liverpool should take their teams to join MLS
MOOCH
It seems like a Super League is the main goal but the secondary goal is to make EPL be a closed league. It big fish want to get rid of the small fish.
Oh god, please no American's involved in football reforms. As an American were good at Liberty and Freedom as your currently witnessing. Football not so much.
The big teams have a excuse now to break away from the premier league and join a european super league, they gonna get what they want one way or they other
streaming paid per view sucks
