Fr even after reading the manga it still makes me mad💀
Honestly. I completely understand the fact that he really does have to break up with her rn since he IS putting her in danger being with him. So much so that she could end up getting killed at an even earlier point in time which would end up complicating things way more than they already are. (For example, Imagine if they both ended up in a situation like episode 3 where they run into a guy like Taiju and he ends up killing her. Nothing can be done at that point and her death is sealed completely. Makes sense to secure that aspect of future for now so you can more easily influence other aspects without having to worry abour Hina dying sooner)
So yeah, that I can get behind. But what pissed me off was how he broke up with her. Girl poured her heart out to him the week before and showed how much she loved him for all these years even after the shit he put her through and he decides to hurt her like that? Fool could've said he didn't wanna get her caught up in this or he wanted to focus more on the gang rn. He didn't have to straight up lie to her face like that and give her that kinda pain.

Could've just said "hey your father doesn't want us to be together because im in a gang, maybe we can be together after so and so amount of time when im no longer in a gang" Literally he did the same thing his past self did in the original timeline then after the event occurred went "oh so that's how it happened"

If he said that she wouldn’t let him break up with her. He’s doin log this to keep her away from men like Taiju who has no problems hitting a girl. Takemitchi knows that each time he goes back in time it gets more dangerous for him because he keeps getting into more violent situations. That’s why he wants to keep her away because if Hina dies in the past then everything Takemitchi has done will be for nothing.

the only thing I can think of is that he knows cutting ties with her now guarantees she makes it 12 years into the future, he's getting more and more involved with this gang shit, who's to say if he had her by his side still she wouldn't get caught up in all this shit and get hurt or die earlier than she was supposed to. it sucks but his goal is to protect her from getting killed 12 yrs in the future, he's gotta ensure she at least makes it to there
True, he chose her life over his feelings for her, like he said before he'll make sure that she lives even if it means she has nothing to do with him whatsoever and plus like you said if she does now all of it was for nothing so I think this makes sense although the way he did it definently upholds the fact that he only had one girlfriend and he didn't even want to do it either

Takemichi the same dude that persuaded chifuyu to work with kisaki under the reason of "maybe if we get to know him more we can get him kicked out" yet he never even once tried to get closer to kisaki to get to know him more, heck he didn't even question how he views hina or anything after learning the backstory(to get a clue of why he keeps getting her killed every timeline) and said once the mission is over they aren't associating. He makes very stupid decisions and contradicts himself. But yea the story would be over quick if he wasn't stupid.

Actually, (god I hate I had to use that word), Hina lived beyond the accident that originally killed her, because of the timeline where Takemichi broke up with her. It did help and saved her. She got killed because Takemichi got into contact with her again, and Kisaki got that info. She was alive as long as he was away from her, and the moment he went to return, she got killed (intended along with him as Hanma said). What he's doing makes sense logically, it just doesn't account for the unkown changes later down the line that could play part in possibly not needing to break up with her. Time travel is a weird but fascinating concept. I get why you got annoyed though, the way he went about it was pretty harsh.

I think takemichi sticks with the choice of dumping her because it does more good then bad. Sure the timeline doesn't change but Hina was able to survive till adulthood because of the breakup and the other events. So his thought process rn is keep Hina out of the picture by breaking up with her like he did before and fix the more impactful and bigger issues, the ones he failed to fix before. Cuz ultimately it wasnt the break up that led to her death but the other events. I still think its dumb that he wouldnt try changing that tho in case it does play a bigger role that he didnt know abt but that's just how it is ig.

Cause he’s changed things since he came back. So him still breaking up with her doesn’t guarantee the timeline will end up the same. Also doesn’t guarantee she lives either.
Takemitchi has learned that changing the timeline too much has severe consciences. Like Draken being on death row and Chifuyus death. Somethings must stay the same.
Because breaking up with her lets her live all the way to 12 years from now without having her so up close with people like Taiju that have colossal strength and don't mind dropkicking women in the name of gender equality.
This way, at least he knows she won't die way earlier than her fated death.
He’s doing it to ensure she makes it 12 years because he’s getting more and more involved in dangerous situations and if she were to be a victim of that in the past there’s no saving her it’s not to change the future it’s to ensure she at least has a future while he deals with the in between

It’s frustrating seeing him always get beat on but I understood why takemitchy still broke up hina. Him breaking up with her won’t be why she dies. 1. Hina is willing to do whatever to protect her man 2. She almost got hot fire smacked out of her by Taiju for inserting herself 3. A respect for elders and the fact he thinks it’ll protect her it makes perfect sense. What if he didn’t and she just happens to be around during a brawl if she dies in the past it’s over with. Him breaking up with her may actually protect her. The main problem is Kisaki as long as he makes sure his plans fail and he can avoid every outcome kisaki tries to create hina will be okay.

Honestly, this is pretty valid. I'll admit I was also pretty done with Takemitchy when he did this, but the more I think about it read comments like this, the more it makes sense. Plus, he probably legitimately just wants to obey her dad's request. Despite the gang stuff, Takemitchy seems to be a pretty goo, respectful kid. Truthfully, going against her father's wishes would probably be out of character for him.

I'm someone that has been very understanding with Takemichi and feels like most people are too harsh on him, that said he frustrated me so much when he broke up with Hina. He's seen that she dies in timeliness when he breaks up with her anyway so he shouldn't have thought that was the right move, better to have her close to try and protect her this time.
Imagine if he keep her close then she caught up in a war get hit by a metal pipe and died earlier, guess we just blame takemichi then for not keeping her away 🤣

My argument is very simple as someone who has watched many time traveling movies/TV shows whixh is rule number one if your trying to change a outcome concerning a certain person is that you need to do things DIFFERENTLY not the same. Sure it may not help at all in the end but doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result is literally the definition of insanity.

I get the frustration of Takemichi breaking up with her despite that being exactly what he did originally, but I think it's important to remember that he's already going down a different route this time, with his plan to take down black dragon and stop Hakkai from killing Taiju. So even if he does still break up with Hina, there are several of other changes he can make over the next 12 years to avoid that same future (including taking out Kisaki). Since he is taking on black dragon this time, he probably thinks she'll be safer this way, seeing as she almost got attacked the last time

Most of people arent understanding that yes when takemichi dumped hina in the past the future was a mess. But now takemichi is doing something he didnt did that is trying to stop hakkai. That combination to dump hina and try to stop hakkai never happen so takemichi is thinking he can protect her and change the future. And he knows if he broke with her she will live 12 years.
