I think it is very cinematically significant between the commotion between Hamlet and Claudios is summed up by their word play. It shows us the viewer how Hamlet struggles in his new environment without people who support him and to fit in.

The much better part is the best 😅
Hamlet's humour against the foolishness of Polonius is well acted here.

The guy in the red shirt is Hamlet. He's had a bit of a problem lately.

@ Paolo Emmanuel: The one in the orange muscle shirt who played Hamlet is David Tennant---do you not recognize him???

I like how none of these comments are referring to how he's a Doctor Who Doctor as well... He's my favorite. :D Nice to see him in something else I like

The way Tennant plays Hamlet reminds me a lot of the tenth Doctor

Can somebody explain why Hamlet is wearing a red, ordinary shirt like he's living in a dirty apartment?

He's pretending to be going crazy with grief after the death of his father (the king) in order to trick his uncle into admitting he killed the king so he could marry Hamlet's mother, the queen.

Oh, only pretending. Thanks for clearing that up!

Hamlet is absolutely pretending to be mad. But part of the fun of Hamlet is figuring out if he’s actually mad as well. And if he is mad, is he mad from the beginning, or does he go crazy over the course of the play.

Who's the guy in the red shirt?
He's really chewing up the scenery with his arm movements.

He's faking being crazy and he's trying to remember a monologue for these other performers

I've been wondering this the whole time, the clothing choice is very confusing for me.

As the play encompasses fundamental human nature and things still relatable today, the clothes can alter yet the meaning remains powerful.

It's Shakespeare but modernised, they have thrones and everything but they mostly wear suits and dresses. It's done all the time, Ethan Hawke played Hamlet once and it was VERY modernised
