- This video from The Potomac Bead Company was shot during one of our recent visits to factories in the Czech Republic. Tumbling is the second stage of the Czech glass bead making process, During two stages, this both separates the beads from the scrap glass after the pressing process, then polishes, grinds, and shines the beads to a beautiful finish!

I'll never moan about the price of beads again. Incredible amount of work goes into making the beads. Thank you for showing us this.
Wow, unbelievable the amount of work that goes into making those beads. Even with all the technology available today, there are just some things that have to done the old way.
I had no idea that they manually snap scrap pieces of glass from beads with their hands. It's a ton of hard work. ❤
Well Swarovski is in Austria (we were in the Czech Republic), and as far as I know they do not allow tours/video. Preciosa's crystal factory did not either, though we met a few Preciosa employees and might be able to push harder next time!
Thank you for making us more informed.
You're welcome. It's so interesting to see behind the scenes.
Fascinating....I thought that bead factory would be run by people in white coats. It is hard work. I have seen the factory where natural silk is made from cocoons - looks quite alike with all those old machines and people in hard aprons.Anyway, I'm so excited to see the next processes. Thank you so much for this. Will you show Swarovski beads processing?
Oh, I wish they would allow to see the crystal manufacturing, but anyway, thank you for doing this. I wish you the best of luck in everything you do.
I wish to open on of these one day! :-) #hummmm
