He's looking more and more like his dad Denzel. I really hope John David Washington continues as T'Challa/Black Panther in Black Panther 2, following Chadwick Boseman.
No, there are more experienced black actors to choose from. And I like John David but he is no T’Challa. MARVEL Studios president Kevin Fiege said months ago that there will be no recasting of Chadwick’s role. But even I’m a bit skeptical of that decision.
@@better-dayz-r-ahead The thing is that John David Washington is the one with the connection to Chadwick Boseman (via Denzel) as well as the Black Panther cast (You can find photos of him with Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyongo, Danai Gurira, Letitia Wright, and Director Ryan Coogler). Also, John David Washington showed with TENET that he can carry a movie and he has the star power.
@@SynClaiRWest I respectfully disagree. The only reason why John David Washington’s name ever came up as possible successor to the late Chadwick Boseman as King T’Challa is due to timing. Washington’s biggest movie to date TENET came out the same week as Boseman’s passing. No one was even placing Washington or Boseman in the same category prior to that week. TENET was the first blockbuster film to open during the Pandemic era and Chadwick unexpectedly dies at the height of his career. All of which put much focus on Washington to carry the mantle. But I argue that John David and Chadwick were never close and had no real personal connection to each other aside from Denzel. J.D.W stated himself in an interview that he had a brief encounter with Chadwick during a VANITY FAIR shoot. He described Chad as being “warm and welcoming” and that was probably the extent of their relationship. They weren’t close friends but rather just two people in the same profession with a mutual respect for each other. All that being said I like John David Washington. He’s a solid actor and seems like a very likable and humble man, much respect to him. But he is no Black Panther in my estimation. I can name about 5 young black actors more deserving.
I can listen to him talk all day. very talented man right here!
Seems like a nice guy. Very laid back and chill type.
He speaks in the very same cadence as Denzel but he has his own acting style. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree
I've listened to this a hundred times. Soothing voice 🥰
What a pleasant and groovy interview. I like David even more now. TENET just really blew me away. Im a fan.
